Note: Okay, well, I don't really have a title for this...I was just really bored and wrote it up in about 45 minutes. xD It's nothing too special. I'm not exactly done either; it's about 9:30pm and I have school tomorrow. xD I'll post the rest when I get to it.
The rain hammered against the windows with such intensity, I had to yell just to be heard over the constant drumming. It was odd weather, even for Forks, a town that rarely got a good glimpse of the sun. This had been my hometown for a while now, and I’d gotten used to the constant raining, but something about those clouds irked me.
Edward must have felt me shiver because he wrapped his icy arms around me and tried to use friction to warm me. Unfortunately, I wasn’t cold – I was scared. He must have known too because he pressed his luscious lips to my ear and whispered, “It’s okay Bella, it’s just a little storm. It’ll pass.”
I could barely hear him over the rain but I knew what he was saying – he’d said it at least five times in the last half hour. His velvety voice soothed me for a moment, but the fear just came flooding back. I shouldn’t be so afraid. He’s here and he would never let anything happen to me, I was sure, but…
“Bella,” the sudden change in his voice mad me jump, “Bella, get downstairs, now.”
I opened my eyes wide “Edward, it’s 4 am, you can’t expect me to get up now.” But before I could protest any further, he scooped me out of bed and the next thing I knew, we were at the basement door.
It was worse than I thought.
“Oh my god. Edward, are you serious?”
“Bella, just get down there, we don’t have much time.”
I nodded and twisted the doorknob.
It was locked. No, not locked – it was stuck. I pulled as hard as I could, but the door wouldn’t budge.
I could hear the windows rattling viciously in the kitchen. Any minute now they would shatter into a million pieces onto the linoleum floor. Great, Charlie’s going to make me clean that up tomorrow…
Charlie!
“Edward! Charlie – he doesn’t –“ something hit me hard in the chest and I was sent flying to the floor. I struggled to get up again but it was like trying to lift a brick wall. Then I noticed it was Edward. He had my pinned against the floor, his arms protectively around my body. He squeezed me so hard I could barely breathe.
“Edward, what are you –“ at that moment the windows finally gave in. The drum of the rain was replaced by a howling wind that rampaged through the house. The cabinets were thrown open and the dishes crashed loudly against the floor. Dust and debris swirled around mine and Edwards crumpled bodies and I had to squeeze my eyes shut to block out all the chaos. I could sense other things moving in the room, and I knew it was the furniture being thrown around like rag dolls.
Something hit me hard against my back and I screamed. Edward pulled me closer but it had no effect; I suddenly lost control and began trembling, for I knew that this might be the last moments we had together.
