"You know, Cece, we won't be able to do this all the time," Eri sighed as she pushed her little girl in the ornate stroller into the mall, glancing warily around at the people in the hallways of the mall with tables. Today was one of those days where there was something called a 'sidewalk sale', and Eri would've given almost anything to be elsewhere.
But, Cece wanted to get some new pretties, and Mother wanted her to get some new things as well, so she'd been pushed out the door to go get a few nice things.
Eri didn't know what to think of this. She didn't really like crowds or sales or anything like that.
"Pwetties~" Cece cooed, ignoring her mother's chiding words. She felt very happy, very content as she leaned against the back of the stroller. She was going to get some new pretties and that was because Aunty said she could. Mommy didn't like the people, but she would listen to Aunty...

Kai wondered why he always got stuck with the shopping duties. Perhaps it was because last time Runeh and Mikael had been sent out they had bought more for themselves then for Riley...and what they did buy for her was more directed towards males toddlers, not little girls. He sighed, running his fingers through his short dark hair as he watched his younger sister carefully, always staying a step or so behind her as she weaved among the people. Not that he couldn't carry her but she had a tendency to...not want to be held.
He hoped that perhaps taking her with him would convince the young girl that dresses weren't so bad-and that dolls were fun and something she'd want to have. As of right now she had refused any offer of anything besides toy trucks, dinosaurs, and other such things. Not exactly the norm, at least...no from what he knew.
Riley laughed, running as fast as her little legs could carry her...which was pretty darn fast. She didn't know where they were but...it was neat! There were lots of people and there was a lot of space! She loved space and she loved being able to run around in spaces~ She always wanted to be moving in some form or another. Luckily big brother Kai didn't try to keep her up with him, hehe! She could go where ever she wanted! Or so she thought anyway.

Eri spotted the little sparrow girl running about from across the mall. The ex-Dream didn't know whether to laugh or feel somewhat amused because of this. Children like this existed all over Gaia, but... it never ceased to amuse Eri that there were such coincidences, running into each other.
Pushing Cece forward, Eri called over to the little girl. "You should be careful-- wouldn't want to run into anything, would you?" she asked, smiling. After all, it wouldn't do to see the child run into anything this chaotic, would it?

Riley stopped before Eri and Cece, her silver eyes blinking with curiousity. She completely ignored the woman's question, which might have been thought of as rude, and pointed with a finger at the stroller, "What's THAT?" Her voice was bewildered and skeptical. It looked like a warped bike or...truck or something. Did it have any cool buttons? Did it shoot little plastic missils like her toy tanks and such? She had no idea, but if it did she wanted to play! Man, none of her toys were that big!
"Riley, don't point, it's not very nice," Kai scolded half-heartedly as he came up behind his firey little sister. He gave Eri an apollogetic look, "I'm sorry, she really doesn't mean anything by it. I she didn't disturb you."

"Ah, it's quite all right," Eri smiled slightly. "It's called a stroller," she explained to the little brown girl, turning to show her Cece sitting inside. Eri didn't mind showing off her little girl-- after all, Cece loved being the center of attention. She adored being around others.
...what a strange girl! Cece wasn't used to seeing other little girls (those not related to her) who looked so weird! Brown all over, little wings by her ears-- how weird... but not that wrong. After all, there were weirder, right? She still only had four limbs, like most people...

Riley peered in at the other girl, her "ears" perking slightly with curiousity. Oh! So it was something you could ride! This got her rather excited, and she leaned on the strange contraption, glancing up at Eri eagerly, "Does it go FAST?" She loooooved to go fast. Maybe it was because she didn't feel so restless when things were moving quickly. Whatever the reason, the idea of a new type of "ride" was quite thrilling.
Kai rubbed the back of his neck with a sheepish smile, "Well...it goes fast if whoever is pushing it goes fast, Riley." He hoped she didn't have plans to stow-away on the stroller. Or anything rash like that. No time to take his eyes off her, obviously.

"Mommy make it go fast sometimes," Cece smiled at the little girl, considering her. She was such a funny little thing-- brown and hyper and strangely caught up in everything. "Mebbe you could twy?" she suggested, glancing up at Eri for approval-- or not. Not that she was likely to get permission, but... oh, she could try, couldn't she?
"No, it's not safe to run in here," Eri chided the girl. "Maybe another time, another place, but not here," she smiled slightly at Cece.

Riley puffed up her cheeks sourly, blowing out in a sort of sulk. "Awwww," she breathed with a frustrated wrinkle of her nose, "No fun!" Her brows furrowed and she pouted, looking stubbornly unhappy. Grown-ups were such spoil sports! She wished that Mikael and Runeh had taken her out...at least they let her have fun.
Kai sighed, "Riley, dont't be rude. She's right. This isn't really a playground...besides, a stroller really isn't that sort of ride." He looked at Eri softly, "I'm sorry for all the trouble. Really."

"Quite all right," Eri smiled slightly. "Everyone has a habit of wanting things and being upset when they can't have them." Even Eri herself was at fault there-- after all, when someone desired something, they wanted more. "Though, if it's fun you want, Riley, there's a toy store nearby."
Cece didn't want to go to the toy store-- well, maybe. Depends what kind of toys were around there. Maybe there were good toys... "Toy stowe?"

Riley seemed to think this over, her "ears" twitching slightly as she did so. Well...it was always fun to see what kind of new trucks or tanks they had. You could never have a big enough army of action figures and vehicles after all. Her tail feathers spread slightly as she peered at Eri, finally stating decisively, "Okay." She guessed the toy store would do. Though she had to admit, the idea of a speedy ride seemed more fun.
