"One... two... three... four... five," Zeki counted off as he planted his paw down in his father's steps that were imprinted into the ground from days prior. It had been a while since he was able to get some alone time. Their father-son run that morning was a bit further than usual and they came home tired. Oddly, Zeki was the first awake while Ger continued to snore up a storm at the den. The memory made him giggle as he wandered down the hill to the water hole.

No matter where he went around the den, Pride Rock was always in view as the den was just a few ways off of it. The reason ways that Ger had a family there, not just him and Trina at one point. Zeki had heard of them but never officially met them, however one day he will. He sighed and flopped over in the grass, forgetting the idea of the water hole. Today was just too great to meander around. Where was Safuma when he wanted someone to play with? Where was Ophos? He promised he'd be here today.

Ophos... the son of Yakuti and Taashira'kikuto, a hyena of the Elephant Graveyard. It was strange, but he seemed a lot kinder than he was when they first met. Actually a lot more clueless about things than he thought he did. It seemed like the only thing the pup knew was patrol, hunt, defend... nothing fun. But he was able to sneak out of the den sometimes and that was good enough for the cub. He had a friend at least. He had two main friends in his eyes right now, Ophos and... Safuma. Safuma, another cub from Pride Rock. Ger always treated her kindly and with a lot of respect it seemed and it made sense for Zeki to imitate his father and do just the same. Safuma was such a good girl, but she just wanted to get out and have an adventure with someone who'd enjoy it. The day after he spent the day with her and his father, on the way back to their den Ger said that he reminded him of him when he was a cub. Then he chuckled and said "Don't get yourself into trouble."

Life was weird sometimes in the Pride Lands, but one must admit that it's an awesome place to live. He took a deep breath and raised his paws up into the air. The cool breeze and the mid-morning sun beating down on his golden fur.

"The Pride Land's awesome..."

Stretching out his long limbs in the sunshine, Akia's yawn carried on the air. Unable to sleep the night before, he'd begun walking before the barest hint of light touched the sky, and the Pridelands was where he'd ended up. He'd never been here before, but he was enjoying the scenery. The massive rock in the background where a lot of lions apparently lived was impressive, he had to admit. The view from the top must be amazing. Knowing a bit of the surrounding lands, he could only imagine how beautiful it was to look out in every direction toward the far horizons. But even though he was curious to see that view for himself, he would not go there to see if he was allowed to take a peek. One or two lions, a few at a push, he could handle being around. Large groups of them made him nervous, and so he would not intentionally go to a place he knew they would be gathered at.

Shaking out his long, lithe, brightly-coloured body, he slunk with the casual grace only cheetahs could manage toward the water. He caught sight of Zeki, and it made him pause a second, lime-coloured eyes glancing around. After all... where there were cubs, there were often parents. He frowned slightly when he saw no one, wondering if Zeki was lost or if something unfortunate had happened to his parents, but since Zeki seemed to be in no distress, he had to assume everything was all right. Perhaps he lived nearby, and it was allowed for him to come to the watering hole to play without supervision? He did not know, but he offered the young male a smile, before crouching to lap at the water, long spotted tail curling around one of his hind legs.

Zeki purred to himself as he let his paws fall down to the side, smiling to himself. Today was to be great, he knew it! The sun would be high in the 'noon sky, beating down upon the Pride Lands with warmth heating the earth and the rocks a like. A soft, gentle breeze would waft through the savanna caressing everything as it floats about in the 'noon' air. The water of the water holes and the river would be so clean and cool that it would quench any maw that drank from them. Today was gonna be absolutely perfect!

"You know... my uncle told me that everyone is either positive or a negative person. A positive person is one who has a positive out look on life and never gets let down even when the times are grim. They say that their personality is contageous and spreads to others," Zeki spoke, still sprawled in the grass. "However, his brother told me that there are those who are negative. One's who bring others down with dark feelings and theories. Unfortunately, that is also a contageous personality as well."

"Well, stranger, what sort are you? Positive? or are you negative?"

Zeki popped himself up onto his feet and giggled as he moved over to the other being. Crimson eyes, inherited from the main-branch, looked upon the strange coloration of the animal before him. Long legs, spots, long slender tail, it was obvious that it was a cheetah. Those zoomed by all the time during the day and occasionally during the early hours of the day. He noticed that this one, however, was much brighter than the rest of them around here. The cub smiled and nodded. Best be kind and polite, as always.

"My name's Ezekiel, but please call me Zeki. It's easier to remember and not to be confused with my Uncle Ezzy. So may I ask your name, Mister?"

Akia was quite surprised at the sheer amount this cub could speak without any kind of prompting, and without running out of steam. His tongue slowed in its lapping until it finally stopped altogether and he rose up to his full height from the crouch. He couldn't recall ever meeting anyone who said so much in one go, especially not something as random as what Zeki said to him. Still, what Zeki said was interesting, even when he was a bit drowsy from lack of sleep. He knew his answer without thinking about it, though.

"I'm definitely positive." Akia had never even had a dark thought or feeling in his life, let alone try to infect others with them. Rather, he tried to prove Zeki's uncle's theory correct, and have his kind and sweet nature be contagious to others. "And what are you, young sir?"

Akia smiled as the cub ambled over to him, sitting himself down and curling his lengthy spotted tail around his legs, nodding his head to Ezekiel. "You may. My name is Akia, but everyone calls me just Aki, so you can, too. It's nice to meet you, Zeki."

Zeki had to think about his reply. He had never really thought about it in depth but always felt he was a positive soul. But sometimes he had to wonder if the actions he had part-take in were even a bit of the negative aspect. Strange how Aki could just come out with it but he, the one who started the topic had to think about his own. Searching inside him often helped him find the answers he needed and felt correct as he did not need to rely on others to give the answer for him. His paw touched his chin and then he smiled. "I am almost, absolutely, most likely, possibly, I think so, a decent Positive soul."

He laughed a bit as even then half the things he had said were a slight contradiction to the last, but the reply itself was pure innocence in a young one's heart. He nodded and purred, "Most definitely, I am sure of it. I have a positive attitude, heart, and soul. Don't you think?" he had once had this conversation with his Uncle once, all of them in fact (at least on his father's side of the family). Trig said he had a positive soul. Kinari said he had the darkest negative soul to ever roam the earth, sometimes Zeki still believe he was exaggerating that but it was believable. Trigger said he had a mix of the two. His father said he had a Positive soul just like he did. Weird things happen sometimes in this family.

"So Mr. Aki, what do you think about this little theory? That our positive and negative pulls are contageous onto others? My Uncle and I had fun with experimenting with this with my Uncle Kinari whom had a negative out look on things, but... we just ended up playing with him in the end." the cub purred, speaking with wisedom that was granted upon his own studies with his uncles. He had imitated their actions, learned their behaviors, and adopted their teachings at a minimum level, but he was a bright cub. Though, he was still an uncoordinated cub at times.
