I noticed that women are not elligble to sign up for selective service. Only men. In fact, men are FORCED to join, or else we are violating the law. We cannot recieve financial aid, social security, anything.
Am I the only one who thinks this is bullshit? I DEMAND that women be required to sign up, or that men no longer HAVE to. As it is, this is not equality. Self-valuing feminists should be ashamed, and should agree with me on this. If women truly want the same rights as everyone else, they will go through the same bullshit as everyone else. Otherwise, settle for the lower wages. I'm entirely serious. That double-standard is pure bullshit.
God this country is retarded.

How about we just end Selective Service as it's a retarded, anti-American system?

That's good, too. I like it.
Either way, it needs to be equal.
Either all or nothing. Women have to do it too, or nobody does.

My opposition to the draft altogether aside:
If women can voluntarily be in the military, they can be forced into the military.
Though selective service is pretty easy to get out of anyways, given all the prejudice still existing.
Rainbow thong: $12.50
Pink triangle pin: $3
Issues of The Advocate and Playgirl: $8.25
DVD of "Full Metal Jackoff": $29.99
An honorable discharge before you're even fitted for a uniform: Priceless.

I say noone should be forece to sign up agianst their will (no way I want to. I want no part of millitary or the war. I prefer to live and find a job/career I want. Besides, guns, bombs, and fire scare me. Fire is my biggest fear).
I would but have a mental break down (even if I had to fake it) to get out of it if I was forced too. Who knows? I might accidently shot the wrong people (I'd keep my eyes closed the whole time wishing I was back home or far way from the war that I find pointless).
I rather learn to fight martial arts style then use weapons. I'd only fight in self defense. But if I had to use a weapon, I want a sword).
See? I'm not fit for the millitary (you think they would buy that?).

Yeah, you just have to check yourself in to a mental ward and they won't accept you.
However, it's the whole idea that men HAVE TO and women CAN'T. That kind of bullshit should be long gone.

I cant be accepted any ways. American Militery bares any one who has been diagnosed as bi-polar (I was miss diagnosed when I was twelve, but it's never been removed) or who has a history of having taken riddalen.
I have signed for selective service, but I can neither be drafted, nor can I willingly sign up. Of coarse, I can work around all the red-tape bull s**t and still get in, but I have no desire to. Dont get me wrong, I love and respect those who do and are willing to go into militery service (My dad did it for twenty years), but I'm just not interested.

My friend takes Ritalin and he was in the army...
I'd be disqualified anyway because of my health. If I'm too damn sick to sit up in a classroom, I'm too damn sick to use a weapon.
I agree though. Men having to sign up but not women is bs. Anyone having to sign up is silly in my opinion. I'm not moving to Norway partially because I don't want my kids to go through compulsory military service. It's only men there, too.

I must say, I agree.
Either everyone should have to sign up for the Draft, or (better yet) no one should.
It is, frankly, sexist to say that only men have to be forced to fight in wars against their will.
