Rashkae trotted under the shade of recently bloomed trees. The petals klittered the ground, smushing softly as her dark-gray hooves stepped onto them. Looking up at the trees, their green leaves replacing the fallen petals, Rashkkae smiled ruefully, "If only I had come earlier, eh?" She murmured, continuing at her pace, "But new life is good in any form."

Shaking out her long mane--not something she minded at all--she trotted on, a soft smile gracing her lips. Perhaps she would meet another today? That was always a pleasant experience.

As Ahote trotted along a line of blossoming trees, he watched as petals fell from them.

"Oh no! They're dying..."

He whined a little, watching the petals fall to the ground. He suddenly caught one on his nose, and it started to tickle him. He giggled, looking at it with his eyes crossed. He pushed his nose towards the ground, brushing the petal off. He then looked back up at the tree. It seemed to be growing still, even though it was losing its petals. Perhaps it wasn't dying, but going into a new stage of its life. As he thought that, he spotted new buds and small leaves that had yet to grow, and he smiled, realizing that the tree was just going through changes.

He continued along the line of trees, trotting happily.

Rashkae had been trotting along the covered path for several minutes before she realized that someone was following her. Ears flicked backward, and pupiless eyes turned to gaze behind her.

She wasn't terribly concerned; seeing anyone new would be a blessing and she doubted it was a predator. Had it been, she would have sensed it much earlier. Still, it would hurt to see who had decided to follow her, or even if the following was intentional.

She raised her head a bit more, intrigued. She had yet to see anyone coming over the small sloping hill. Perhaps they were farther away than she had thought?

As he reached the top of a small hill, Ahote realized that there was another creature on the path in front of him. He smiled and continued trotting towards the creature.

When he got closer, it seemed to be a Soquili, but it was very strange looking indeed. It was covered with stark white lines that seemed to be glowing all across its black body. And the eyes...for a moment, they scared the little pony, and he almost turned around in fear, but he got a warm feeling from the creature, and he thought that anything evil wouldn't give off such a warm feeling. But that didn't change the fact that they were creepy.

But he still didn't really think that this creature was a Soquili. It was so strange, it must be something else. But would it understand him if he asked?

"Excuse me...but what are you?"

And there was the reason why she hadn't seen the other as soon as she was used to. This one was much smaller than most of the others she had met. It was a delightful surprise. It looked like a small stallion, but his body was more barrel then she was used to. Perhaps he was a smaller and different kind? How wonderful! Variety was always preferrable in a species.

"Hmm?" She asked softly, finally registering the fact that he had asked her a question. She smiled with a touch of embarrassment, "What am I?" She asked and tilted her head to the side. She hadn't been asked a question like that in a long time. Tell the truth? Or divert it? Ah, she should take the safe way out.

"I am a Soquili mare." She answered calmly, smiling down at the little male, "May I ask you the same question? I'm afraid I can't recall ever seeing one such as yourself." She was trying to be polite; it wouldn't do to offend another.

Ahote tilted his head as well. He had seen a few Soquili before, but never one that looked so strange as her. It was still those eyes that were bugging him.

"Well, I'm an Usida. But...I've never seen a Soquili like you. What's the deal with those eyes? They creep me out!"

Ahote was never one to go out of his way to sound polite. It was his child-like nature that made him speak before he thought. And it never occured to him that what he thought might offend somebody if he didn't reword it.

But one thing was for sure. She definently wasn't evil. His initial suspicions were thrown away. Even when she spoke, it was smooth and kind. Nothing evil could come from this creature.

Most other Soquili would have been offended at his words, they weren't the most elegant one could use to ask. Rashkae didn't mind though, she found it rather endearing.

"What's the deal with my eyes?" She hadn't heard quite that phrasing before. Ah, another reason she should have come here sooner. She shook her head, letting her long mane fall into her eyes, "It's just a part of who I am, just as how your eyes are a part of you."

She tilted her head to the side, curious, "Do you find them a bad thing? It is not something I can change, not that changing my appearance for another would even be a thought in my mind." Rashkae could be stubborn when she wanted.

"No...not bad. I've just never seen eyes like that before. I mean...there's no little black circle in the middle. Its just...white. You shouldn't change, though. They match the glowy lines on your body!"

Ahote smiled, finally getting past the strangeness of the other's eyes. Though he would still probably be intrigued by them for a while, he wasn't thrown off by them as much. The little pony moved on from things rather quickly. He shook his own head, tossing his scruffy forelock out of his eyes, though the movement didn't do much. He looked back up at the mare, looking over he glowing body. She sure was an interesting looking Soquili.

"Hey, what's your name? I forgot to ask that! My name's Ahote."

The pony did a little bow, stretching out one of his front legs and lowering his head before standing straight and giggling.

Rashkae laughed softly, the bits of skin around her eyes crinkling to show her enjoyment. "Ah...that is normal, then? To have such a feature?" She shook her head a bit. Such a strange adaptation to the world. Rashkae could see fine without the added features; it wasn't a problem to her.

"My name? Ah, apologies, I am Rashkae." Another soft chuckle, how could she have forgotten that simple gesture? Oh dear, she really needed to try to remember things. Age was pointless if one didn't have the knowledge and memories to go with it.

She smiled down at the little Usida and bowed her head in response. Twas only fair after all. One must always show courteousy to another.

Ahote thought her question was a little ridiculous. Of course it was normal to have the little black circle in the middle of youe eye. Everybody else had it, didn't they? But, since he had already called her eyes weird enough, he decided not to comment on that anymore. Instead, his eyes were drawn to the white swirly lines on her body.

"Are those lines really glowing? Or does it just look that way?"

This was easily the most interesting Soquili Ahote had met so far. She was even more interesting than Kitsune, with his bright orange colour.

Rashkae chuckled softly. Little Ahote asked quite a few questions, not that Rashkae was particularly put-off in answering them. Talking about herself, while never a subject brought up on her own, was something she enjoyed. An....innocent trait because she enjoyed speaking of others as well.

"No, they are glowing. They mean....well, that is not important." It was important, but sh was not about to go and speak of forbidden things just because she wanted to talk to another person. She had specifically ordred herself not to, hadn't see?

Gods, she hoped that order would stick.

Ahote tilted his head to the side a bit. He was now even more curious about the glowing lines, now that she had stopped her explination of them.

"Well...what do they mean? Why did you stop?"

Ahote didn't deal well with unanswered questions, especially when he had been given some sort of hint or something to its answer.

Rashkae giggled sofly and shook her head. She wasn't about to tell her little secret to anyone, especially someone she had only just met. Rashkae may have been a bit of a gossip about certain things, but she knew wen to keep a secret.

"As I have said. It is not important." She replied smply bobbing her head once and smiling.

She glanced around the path, curious. It was such a beautiful day, why not stroll about and enjoy it? "Walk with me?" She asked softly, smiling at him, "We can accomplish two birs with one stone, as they say."

Rashkae's next answer was no more satisfying than her last. As Ahote nodded and began to walk along beside her, he looked up at her face, a curious look still on his face.

"Well, if its not important, then why is it such a big deal that you don't tell me?"

He smiled. He hoped that he could catch her with her own words, possibly backing her into a corner where she would have to contraidct herself to keep the answer hidden.

Rashkae laughed merrily, "Ah, aren't you the persistent one, Ahote," She commented softly, smiling and looking about for a moment before deciding to answer. Though...she wasn't going to give him the answer he clearly wanted.

"Well, it's just not important to the conversation and the meeting we are having, is it?" She shook her head, light multi-colored mane flicking out of her vision.

"What brings you to these lands, Ahote?" She asked, changed the subject.
