Bard Skill?

I decided to look around the Future Updates forum for an idea, and I found a few threads about Barding [If Barding isn't a word, too bad, it is now]. Here is one of those threads for you to review. Oh, and if your don't know what a Bard is:

A professional poet and singer, as among the ancient Celts, whose occupation was to compose and sing verses in honor of the heroic achievements of princes and brave men.

It looks like pretty solid evidence, and could even become a nice skill. Although the thread focuses mainly on it as being a support skill, Jagex could give it many other abilities.

Post possible uses for the skill, possible forms of training the skill. Or perhaps you know of other evidence that point to this skill.

Recent updates

Well after all the new updates have been released it seems like jagex can't go wrong. Or can they?

We have a new dragonfire shield, the most powerful shield in the game with the power to attack people with fire breath.
We have what rangers have wanted for a while, more powerful and faster crossbows and dark bows with the power of "ohmygosh dragon arrows".

So where's the downside I hear you cry? Well I shall explain.
Pkers are complaining.
Meleers are complaining.
Mages are complaining.
Rangers are complaining.
Merchants are complaining.
Idiots are complaining (but we'll ignor them)

We'll work our way down the list shall we?

- Pkers are complaining since they have an entirely different view on the wild now. Rangers are dangerous, and they don't want to be caught off gaurd be some rich git with a dragonfire shield.
- Meleers are complaining that they should be able to kill rangers with ease since that's the way the combat triangle says it should be.
- Mages are complaining of no updates for them. DF shield for the meleers, dark bow and crossbows for the rangers, and nothing super powered for them.
- Rangers are complaining eek since they are having trouble with a bow as slow as the dark bow... and the fact that it takes dragon arrows to really make it powerful.
- Merchants are complaining since the econemy is all over the place thanks to new and expensive releases. DF shields are one day 20 mill, then at one point they were up to 60 mill, now they're around the 18 mill mark.

Discuss your views and opinions on this.

Dual wielding? Guns? Wth?

I was browsing round the forums as I usually do and I came across something interesting, in the suggestions forum is a list of things that you're not allowed to suggest.

Obvious things like "horse riding, guns and dual wielding weapons".

Thing is... if you notice, there are asterisks beside a lot of these and at the bottom of the post is the reason why.

Basically, anything with an asterisk is game for future development.

This list of things that might be developed is as follows...
● A player made "examine" *
● Clan-related suggestions *
● Larger inventory *
● Races (Elves, Dwarves etc)/Players starting as another race *
● Summoning/necromancy *
● Sitting/Lying down *
● Flying *

● Night and Day/Weather *
● Free to Play Updates *
● Graphical improvements *
● New altars *

● Additional Dragon items *
● Drop/use/make/bank/buy/sell all/X buttons or functions *
● Futuristic/Ninja/Samurai items/fighting styles/clothing/town *
● Using 2 Weapons *

● More pets/trained monsters/tamed animals *
● Horses/Riding (All animals & machines: Riding a goat or a bike is still riding!)*

● A bank search/organisation*
● More bank space *
● New bank locations/banking from anywhere*

What're your thoughts on this list?

I personally think there could be some good ideas there. Guns, obviously are a big no... but who said they have to be ak47s, glocks and uzis? Why not think about the cannon for a second and then imagine some sort of archaeic dwarven crossbow-esque gun.

Pest Control

Pest control is one of these things that's brought a variety of upsides and downsides to runescape...

[Upsides]
You make money from it
Fastest stat trainer there is
You can create mind boggling pures (level 63 with str cape. :O )
It's a team game so you tend to get to know the people you're with.
It's freed up regular training spots, the ones that tended to always be overcrowed before pc was out.

[Downside]
No drops, since you're not training on ordinary monsters.
You get people that just want that 50 zeal and then they're standing still...
It's made most pures trained before obsolute.
It tends to be purely high level orientated, lower levels get frowned upon... when in fact many lower levels know their stuff and really can help in pc.
A lot of people don't see it as a mini game like castle wars. It's just a way of training stats quickly.

Discuss
[Pc]
It's upsides and downsides.
Do you train there or not and why?
Anything that could be improved?
Anything you like about it.
Anything at all pc orientated.
[Training]
What effects has pc had on your regular trainers using monsters?

Well this weeks hot topic is the following.

Graphics Updates

With Jagex updating so many monsters and areas, I think it's only fair we find out what our guild members would prefer to have updated.

Personally
I'm all for graphics updates, since they've all come out looking sharp. biggrin

Yeah the graphic are getting a lot better

I'm not exactly playing runescape for the graphics, but for the gameplay. Though better graphics wouldn't be a bad thing either of course. I'll take it if they're dishing it out.

Edit: But if i had to pick between graphics and a new mini-game or a clan system. Of course I'll have to go with that and not the graphics.

I love how they're updating not only the graphics but they're spending some time on the animations.

I can't wait to see how all of runescape ends up.

I think it'll be great when they finally get round to updating the world outside of towns and ardy... Ooh, and slayer monsters would be my most looked forward to monster graphic update.

Come on cool looking dust devils.

It would be cool if they made'em look even more like the flood from halo then they already do. Except floods don't float. sweatdrop

that would be good. They are kinda of blah right now.

The big difference there being that WoW is a much more demanding game that doesn't like running alongside other programs and runescape is a simply java based game that'll run on basically any computer around.

When they get around to updating our characters, I hope they don't try to make the female model more girl-like. Remember last time they did that? My Mime top still hasn't recovered from that update. Oh, and our skulls are smaller. It still bugs me because you can see the difference with my green mask. Although I'm happy they didn't shrink the mask, like they did for phats.

Although, it's funny. When they did that, they made the model's asses bigger, and boobs smaller. There's a mannequin upstairs at the salon, such a huge difference. It looks like Pam Anderson, rofl.

But yea, it'd be harder for them to update our characters. I'd imagine they'd need to update all the wearable items aswell.

Another nice thing is more attributes to the characters. Not a huge collection, but a few things that can be seen as differen't when wearing something. A good example is the pot-bellied characters.

It'd also be nice if they could improve the shadows on objects. They already have shadows for monsters, so why not walls?

Personally I'd prefer a character upodate myself, at least so that the armor/leather, y'know give Rune a little shine a little darkened when dirty, maybe the ability to polish, fold son the clothes/leather, etc.

Hell, I'd prefer a whole update for the characteristics of your.. well, character. Not thinking like, Sims, but something around that, more like the beginning of Pokemans mystery dungeon. Depending on their traits they'll give different responses on quests/talking to NPCs. Maybe even change it so instead of standing still when they don't move, they do a slight movement every now and then.
