the bonsai tree in the attractive pot
could have grown eighty feet tall
on the side of a mountain
til split by lightning.
but a gardener
carefully pruned it.
it is nine inches high.
every day as he whittles back the branches

with living creatures

personality» Carlisle is a very kind, unassuming person with perfect manners; it's sort of like he stepped out of the late Victorian era in temperament, except he doesn't leave a secret double life at all. He always tries to be exactly what he is on the inside when interacting with others, even though it makes him rather uncomfortable to socialize in groups. He especially tries to please everyone, and when interacting with many people he doesn't know exactly who to be.
Though he's not too smart intellectually, he's got a great gift for reading the emotions of others. He might occasionally slip up and confuse one book with another, but he'll never confuse people for each other - even identical twins. Carlisle takes private lessons in piano and ballroom dancing and finds them quite fun, though he doesn't like the parties and competitions where he exhibits these skills. He can be an immensely private person and though he'll always help you with your problems he doesn't always want you to help with his.

glow» His halo glows in the dark.
time awareness» Carlisle is generally trustworthy to know at least the hour of the day; it's hard to disorient him about time and history.
hair» No matter how short you cut it, Carlisle's hair will grow back to its normal length within twenty-four hours, a la Harry Potter.
flexibility» He's really, really double jointed and can put his hands flat on the floor without trying.
"myriad"» Carlisle can access the Melizse 'hive mind', called the Myriad. Eventually he will be able to pull information from it.
glow» Well, you can always see him coming, can't you?
resin skin» He doesn't tan and his skin stains easily (see: blackened fingertips from running mascara). This means all his clothes ABSOLUTELY have to be pre-washed, or he can't wear them.
halo» Not only is it useless for telling time, Carlisle can't see it or its glow.
"myriad"» Though it's true that it's a valuable source for information, until Carlisle masters the use of this skill it will be nothing more than an incredibly irritating group of voices in his head.

ghoul» A small plush brought to life by Aunt Bella's magic. Functions as a 'mood thermometer' of some sort. (currently: sad/confused)
timelt clock» The clock Carlisle keeps on his bedside table. It kind of stands out in the rest of the room, just because it's so odd. The creature inside doesn't seem to age, or even want to leave the jar, although he's opened it a couple times to release it.
star pendant» A pretty crystal pendant he recieved for his first birthday from Sugita-san.
focus crystal» A blue stone with green veining. It triggered Carlisle's dormant abilities.
historical movies» A Christmas gift from Wisp! He likes to sit at home and watch these on rainy days. (Also received: A graffiti-style poster of the Great Wall, as interpreted by Wisp Darnell. It hangs on the back of his door.)
