The area around the castle is now dark and a virtual minefield of lightning and consuming patches of darkness that appear and disappear randomly without warning has replaced the area for a mile out. The top of the castle, now for taller than it was before is lost in roiling clouds. Apathy and despair crush down on all who enter the dark land that is now spreading like a tumor.

Avatar of the Geek God Badass heard the girl's question. Without stopping he said, "Something that I'm too familar with. We are running from it." Eldest ran beside Badass, looking as if he could run forever and not looking back. As they outran the area of darkness, Badass held the marionette girl to his chest with one arm and pulled the device to call a gummy cab out with his other. The device had a red blinking light on it. Badass said out loud, "We need to get further away for this to work." Looking down at the girl he asked, "Are you alright?" Eldest's wasn't sure if any others had escaped but he had felt the disturbance created by Zelda's portal and was unsure of what it was. He could also feel the darkness radiating from the castle, and its slow spread. The radiating darkness somehow felt familar.

Stitch was also outside of the castle running from the darkness and was close enough to Eldest, Badass and the marrionette that they could hear him, but he coudln't see them "Cloud.......Kairi?" he shouted and sounded frightened and didn't know what to do. He was hoping one of them would be around and could hear him

The doll wouldn't speak, too scared that father would find her. She didn't want to go back, to that lonelyness and fear that she had known. She wouldn't even look down at the blue creature who spoke, the fear had gripped her so.

As the continued to run, Badass asked the marionette, "Do you have a name I can call you by?"

"Huh?" she looked up at him quizicly. It seemed a very odd time to be asking something like that. Never the less, her absolute attatchment to Bad compelled an answer. She shook her head "I don't have a name."

Eldest responded, "Everything and everyone has a name. Sometimes it just has to be found. I once didn't have a name, but others deemed me Eldest, and it felt true. That is how I found my name."

"Father only called me a tool, but that never felt right." she said very quietly. Fearing that, even, brining him up would cause him to appear.

"Let's try something different," Badass said between huffs. Now that the adrenaline was fading away, his bruises and hurt ribs started to hurt again.

The doll could feel the pain creep back on Bad. She knew that she must be heavy and that carring her was probly hurting him more. She also knew that she would slow them down if she where to walk on her own. The girl hugged him tighter not knowing what to do but knowing that she wanted to help. It was then that the doll began to glow, a gentle light pink. Gradually the light became enough to show the way to a small clearing not too far ahead. Not only that, but a gentle warmth surrounded Bad's wounds and then a numbness.

Badass noticed the marionette start glowing. By the light, he navigated to the clearing with a last burst of speed then set the girl down. After he stood up, Badass muttered, "Better than rum." Louder, he said, "Thanks," to the marionette.
Eldest scanned the surroundings for trouble. "Do you have a way to leave here?"
Badass checked the gummy taxi caller, then nodded at its green light.

The doll looked at him, once agian confused. She didn't know what he was talking about, but said "You're welcome" anyway. Looking over her glowing form with curioustiy she asked the others. "It's so pretty, what is it?" she stared at her shimering hand, turning it over agian, as if not beliveing it was her own.

"Not a clue," Badass said, then pushed the button to summon a gummy taxi. The device intoned, "Your gummy taxi will arrive shortly. Thank you for your interest."
"The castle is lost, but we escaped. Others must have. Many of them thought the castle to be a haven, but now it is a fortress for our enemy," Eldest said, staring back at the darkened castle.

"Father was never very nice." the little girl said absent mindedly. "I'm not going to have to go back to him am I?" she looked to the other two for reasurance.

Badass looked at the girl for a moment. "No. It's not likely. I can't imagine that thing being anythings father. Do you know how Mephisto found you the first time?" Badass asked as he leaned against a tree.
