Just so you all know, I think I've finally settled on the Smoke for my essence and the Basilisk for my soul.
But I'll leave all alternative favorites up for viewing and whatnot.

Thanks for visiting!

NOTICE: As of Sunday February 22nd, 2009, this concept has been made a reality! THANK YOU TO EVERYONE FOR ALL THEIR HELP AND TO KYOU FOR THIS AWESOME GIFT! heart

Fel Essence

Quote:
Lingering Smoke
No doubt where there's smoke, there's fire, yet this particular batch was found floating about with no source to account for its existence. With only charred remains found at the site as a testament to the fire that once was, this smoke simply refuses to dissipate.

Alternative Essences: Old and new concepts under consideration if the main favorite does not pan out.

Quote:
Black Water
The place this essence comes from is often mistaken for a gigantic hole in the ground as its surface is utterly black and gives off no reflection. Not a single soul's face, not the environment it resides in, not even the dazzle of light that may fall across its smooth, eerie surface. It's not until the wind blows across causing ripples does one understand that it's water in a pond.

Quote:
Purifying Mud
As hard as it may be to believe, this pool of mud can actually make anything you place into it squeaky clean. No joke. Got a really dirty plate? A set in stain you just can't get rid of? Then just stick it right in this here mud and presto-chango, it's spotless! Heck, if you put anything that's already clean in it, it'd probably make it cleaner.

Quote:
Empathic Bloom
A single white carnation sits in this jar accentuating beauty and mystery. On closer examination, the flower changes, matching the emotions of the person closet to it. How you ask? Say you're sad or depressed, the carnation's brillant white will turn a somber shade of blue and will seem to wilt. Though if you are angry, it's petals will turn a firey red and thorns will sprout upon its stem not too unlike those of a rose. Happy? Then it shall become a cheery yellow and burst with life. And the list goes on, yet the flower only seems to respond to the strongest of emotions and not those stuck in between.

Failed Essences:

Though no longer under consideration, the suggestion of obsidian was much appreciated.
Thank you Mouse.
heart

Quote:
Non-reflective Mirror
A seemingly simple slate of obsidian possibly used as a mirror at sometime, yet this particular piece of obsidian casts no reflection at all. Not a single soul's face, not the environment it resides in, not even the dazzle of light that may fall across its smooth, eerie surface. What could be the purpose for such a thing?

Quote:
Cursed Vanity
Obsidian was commonly used as mirrors in earlier cultures, yet most mysteriously, this particular piece of obsidian has lost its ability to reflect, appearing to be merely a simple slate of rock. Though extensive testing has indeed proven this piece to be pure obsidian, it still has not been able to explain why it cannot cast a reflection. If that weren't enough, those that stare at the obsidian for prolonged periods of time will find it hard to pull away from its strange allure and may experience feelings of excessive doubt or loathing towards themselves and others.

Quote:
The Gorgon's Eye
Oddly enough, a small stone sphere resides in this vial. What is so special about this little piece of stone anyway? Wait…what’s this? The stone seems to be splitting apart? No, it’s not splitting it’s…blinking?! The sphere is actually an eyeball! Unknown what poor creature this eye could have belonged to or even how it functions being detached, due to it’s simply petrifying gaze Doctor Kyou has given it the most appropriate of names and labeled it a fel essence.

Quote:
Bottled Thoughts
Curious, there seems to be nothing in this vial. Yet, upon handling it one feels strong vibrations coming from within along with a consistent hum. As one draws an ear closer, one can make out the hum as the chattering of many voices. Or perhaps it is only one voice creating all the ruckus as it hurriedly shifts from one random subject to the next. It’s almost like being in someone’s head, but…that’s not possible. You can’t capture thoughts in a bottle…can you?

Favorite Souls: Souls under high consideration.

Quote:
Basilisk
Hailed as the king of serpents, this monstrous snake is said to be the size of a train and has such deadly venom that only that of a phoenix's tear could heal it's destruction. Not that it really needs any of that since a good look into its eyes can suck the life right out of you. But don't worry, it's just a myth...right?

Information on Basilisk: Wikipedia - On the Basilisk

Quote:
Venus Flytrap
A carnivorous plant you say?! Gaze in awe and ponder how this almost mythical like plant can exist. How does it work? It certainly lives, but does it think, does it feel? Or perhaps it simply is a trap that is triggered by any poor, unsuspecting victim that happens to unluckily cross its path. Careful, wouldn't get too close if I were you. We wouldn't want it to start developing a taste for human.

User Image
Name: Ebony Shade.
Gender: Female.
Race: Human.
DOB: February 15th.
Age: 23.
Hair: Lavender. Her original color is black. Current style is past shoulder length when worn down, but she normally is seen wearing it up in a ponytail of some nature.
Eyes: A cool grey.
Height: 5'3".
Weight: Approximately 135 lbs.

Residence: Isle de Gambino.
Occupation: Professional Thief/Thief for Hire.

Personality: Strong willed and strong headed, Ebony is not always the easiest person to like initially. She’s stoic, proud and even rude at times, yet the act of being human is not lost on her. Ebony just finds it difficult to express her true feelings without seeming weak. To make matters worse, her tendency to be somewhat deceptive and secretive makes it hard for anyone to get particularly close. Yet with plenty of patience and determination, some may find that there’s much more to Ebony than just a tough exterior.

History: Ebony grew up in a shabby orphanage in London, England having been totally abandoned on their doorstep as a baby. Life there was often harsh and forced many of the children to become harsh themselves, taking what they needed to survive or what they thought they were owed. Ebony was no exception, taking up pick pocketing as a means for her own survival. She remained at the orphanage until the age of six when a chance encounter with Adrian Shade ended with the man taking interest in the young girl. Throughout the years, Ebony’s adoptive father took great care in honing her mind and body by tutoring and training her himself. Although often at odds with him, Ebony grew to love and respect the man deeply as he her. With his death, Ebony was utterly devastated and in turn sold the main home in England to escape to their vacation home on the Isle de Gambino in Gaia. Over time Ebony has gradually filled the void Adrian left in this world by taking up the job he left behind, her way of somehow keeping the man alive even in death.

Likes: Reading, peppermint tea, meditation, martial arts, plants, and the beach.
Dislikes: Messy clutters, insects, things that are fake (like jewelry or people) and being seen or thought of as weak.

When I first started out it was at a site called Theatre-des-Vampires of which I mostly partook in their
chatroom rps and not so much the forum ones. I quickly learned what I needed and developed a
character or two to play efficiently. My balanced mannerism and rp style soon won me a moderating
position to my and many others surprise.

Eventually, the Theatre exchanged hands many times and finally died. Yet, not before the owners I'd
befriended and were loyal to set up a brand new site for many of the "lost" souls from the other site.
The site was called Shadowyn Manor. Unfortunately, this place has
meet its end. Yet, like before, some of the admins/mods from the old site
have decided to try and reunite our wandering masses once more. The
new site is Twilight Serenade.
The site is just starting so there's not much there at the moment, but feel
free to stop on by!

I also use to play over at the iAntiVirus forum, but I gave that up unfortunately.

Example 1
I arrived at the airport tired and bitter. I sighed heavily as I tried to desperately keep from being knocked into as I made my way outside, but being 6’5” did not help one in such matters especially when you were heading in the same direction as everyone else in such a small area. When I finally exited the building I flagged down a cab. I slipped in and directed him to the estate. I sat in the back quietly watching the scenery pass by. It had been a long time since I had been in London, but it had not changed much from what I remembered. It was well into the evening here and many people were out and about enjoying the cool night air even if it was a tad foggy, but it was England and we Brits were use to it.

Sometime later into the ride I felt a great weight settle upon me as the cab moved from the city to the more secluded areas. Perhaps it was because I knew that soon I would catch sight of the place of my birth, my long forgotten home.

I had the driver drop me off in front of the gates. Hastily, I pushed a wad of bills into his greedy little hands and he soon drove off without so much as a thank you. I did not care though for I was looking to the mansion beyond the iron gates. I peered up at it through the gaps between the bars. It was not as big as I had remembered, but then again, last I had been there I was still a boy. The grounds were slightly in disarray, but the estate’s brilliance was not lost on me. Yet, soon I found myself in the midst of the dark memories that lay buried there. Slowly, I gathered my luggage and slipped through the great gates.

As I closed the huge mahogany doors and laid my bags at my feet, my eyes wandered. It was strange, this was my home, but it did not feel like such then. My gaze fell upon the family portrait that hung there in the foyer. The painting was of a smiling couple with their equally happy son, no more than seven years of age. I had not realized that I had moved, but there I was standing right in front of the painting, tracing my fingers over it gently here and there. I looked to my mother, her curly red hair an Arcadian trademark. I couldn’t help, but smile some then. I was reminded of Phoenix whose hair was almost the same, except for the orange of course. I soon moved to gaze upon my father, his face sturdy and strong, his long silver hair pulled back loosely. Even in a painting, he carried an air about him that dripped charm, but also demanded respect as well. I clenched my hand then and looked away, ashamed of how they had died…full of guilt.

Example 2
((AIM rp session with one of my friends between my char Ryo Blair and his Kazenodeku. Ryo's a mixed breed, but for simplicity he's a dark elf while Kaze is a demon. Blue is Ryo which is me.))

Ryo: The fog came rolling in over the lush green hill like a horrible cliche from every horror movie possible, its smokey masses developing into any number of imaginable monsters with eerie gray finger-like wisps beckoning to the naive innocents in the night to come hither. The moon still shone through though, bright casting a formidable shadow upon the lush grounds of Blair Estate. No longer were weeds clinging for life to forgotten, broken statues in the courtyard like they had for so many years prior. White lilies gave off an alluring scent in the warm summer air as they dotted either side of the newly paved road that lead to the mansion ahead. The angelic fountain in the middle of the circular drive was running again, pumping pristine clear water forth from what could only be seen as a trumpet of some sort. Someone had finally taken it upon themselves to make the place habitable again.

Ryo: Except maybe for the lone cricket playing a heart felt note here and there, the grounds were pretty much quiet and deserted for the night. The only thing giving off any remote signs of life was a single, open window on the second floor, a light emitting from behind ghostly white curtains.

Kazenodeku: ~A lone figure walked through the fog, tall, thin, but an evil pressence about it. This person walked towards the estate, as if on a mission, looking for that little bit of life that might be here, looking for someone or something he had lost sight and scent of a long time ago.~

Ryo: Ferocious was his pen as it stabbed at the paper in front of him as he dotted the 'i' in his last name. A sliver haired man sat slouched over a dark, magohany desk, papers strewn all around him and some now even finding themselves upon the black marble floor. All around and behind him lay countless shelves of books, reaching so high that a ladder was need to reach them. It seemed that this was the study or perhaps the library as it was a rather large room. The man finally sat back with a great sigh, dropping the pen seeming glad to be rid of it. Slender digits slipped up between those honey golden orbs and rubbed the bridge of his nose in attempts to stay off a headache long in the making.

Kazenodeku: "Come out come out where ever you are..." ~He smirked and started towards the estate at a great speed. Jumping up and landing on the roof, sniffing around to find the scent.~

Ryo: A sound was uttered under his breath, but he hadn't moved. Had he even heard the voice? Perhaps, but he was always lost in his own world these days much like he had in the past. His fingers had stopped and merely held his head propped, the other hand slack against the chair as his arm dangled off the armrest. It was obvious he was tired or perhaps just exhausted, still there was no saying he was in a 'good' mood.

Kazenodeku: ~He smirked, licking at the corner of his lips lightly as he smelled and tasted a fimilar scent.~ "Ah... Elf boy is here." ~He said softly, Kaze was in a very playful/mean mood. Reaching over his shoulder and into the abyss, pulling forth his demonic sword, he would jump down and through an open window, and look around.~

Ryo: A moment passed that may have seemed like an eternity, yet what was time to two such beings as themselves? Slowly his lashes parted to reveal those golden orbs staring towards the intruder with perhaps a bit of uninterest, the light of the lamp making their color more intense than they truly were. A famaliar british laced voice poured forth from those pale lips, "I have a door you know..."

Kazenodeku: ~He still had that smirk on his lips and walked towards Ryo.~ "Wheres the fun in that? besides, you should know, i like to make a big entrance." ~He threw the sword right at Ryo, missing him by just inches as it stuck into the wall behind him.~

Ryo: He leaned a bit side ways to view the sword, then as if in response to Kaze's efforts Ryo lifted a brow in question. "I just had that wall redone. You'd better have a damn good excuse for damaging it."

Kazenodeku: "Not a single one..." ~He walked up to him, looking down to the little elf.~ "You look like s**t, whats your excuse for that?"

Ryo: He figured he wouldn't be able to cover up those bags that were beginning to show under his eyes, especially not from Kaze and especially not now. Any attempt would have been stupid, worthless, and would only bring forth more questions. Questions he didn't want to answer. So he opted to tell a half truth as he gathered some of the papers he'd been reading into a real pile, "Nothing. I've just been neglecting sleep. What are you doing here? Bit of a ways away from your usual stomping grounds, don't you think?"

Kazenodeku: "Yeah, i figured i'd take a bit of a vacation, maybe visit some old friends, but mostly bored sitting around doing nothing." ~He sat on the desk infront of Ryo and looked to the elf. Wondering how much fun he could have with this tired Ryo.~

Ryo: He opened a drawer and dropped the pile into it and shut it without another thought before looking to the sword still embedded in his wall. "Our former sanctuary's dead. Yes, I'd heard. So poor bored Kazenodeku came looking for dear old Ryo for some entertainment." Grabbing the hilt, Ryo yanked it out and slammed it on the desk next to Kaze. Tinges of a sneer edged his mouth, "Sorry, but Ryo's not in the mood for play date."

Kazenodeku: ~He smirked as Ryo did this and nods.~ "Pity, guess i will have to get you in the mood... shouldnt be too hard to do, huh bro?" ~He grabbed his sword and stood, looking around the room for something to destroy, or at least damage that would get Ryo worked up for a fight.~

Ryo: Kaze might find that a bit hard with the point of three energy claws so very close to his being then. Ryo was never apart from his armlet/gauntlet this days, always wearing it even to bed. That is when he did sleep. He was standing up now and staring his old friend down with dire seriousness. "Go home Kaze. We'll visit another day, but not tonight." The claws retracted and disappeared from sight as if they'd never existed to begin with, yet the armor that enveloped his right arm stood in place. No sleep and limited contact with the outside world made Ryo a very unpleasant person to be around, possibly even dangerous. But what else was new? He moved from behind the desk and headed for the archway that separated this room from that of the hallway. "Turn the light out before you leave."

Kazenodeku: "Ryo... get back here." ~He called out to Ryo before he could leave the room. Kaze walked towards the elf, totally unphased by the the whole claw thing, he knew Ryo's attacks and wasnt afraid one bit.~

Ryo: Ah, but Ryo simply ignored him and continued his rather annoyed steps towards the exit. One of the great advantages of being 6'5" was the fact that you could easily escape others when you needed with little energy at all.

Kazenodeku: ~He growled and moved infront of Ryo quickly, looking Ryo in the eyes.~ "Just like that... your gonna walk away and ignore me?" ~He glared and growled more towards Ryo. He was not impressed by how Ryo was acting towards him.~

Ryo: He had no choice, but to stop abruptly then else suffer having to barge through Kaze which was no easy task as Ryo was reminded from the past. Folding his arms over his chest, "In my house..." He tilted his head back in cocky arrogance, something long since seen in him. "I do what I want. Are you one to tell me otherwise?" That moon pale skin of his rippled light, but nothing had happened, yet it was felt that he was more aggitated now.

Kazenodeku: "Nope... guess not... so much for seeing how youre doing..." ~He walked back into the room and bumped into Ryo as he walked by. Walking towards the window he had came through.~ "So wrapped up in your own little world you cant even see a friend came to check on you, see how youre doing... way to be a selfish p***k."

Ryo: A huge ball of light came out of nowhere then hurling towards Kaze's turned back. Ryo stood where he'd been left with the smoking gun so to speak, his gauntlet now somewhat looking like a cannon was attached where the claws normally were. His weapon was able to transmutate into numerous things as it was his light element focused through it if Kaze had forgotten. Ryo was breathing hard and staring at him with great anger.

Kazenodeku: ~Kaze turned and actually grabbed the ball of light. It would slowly burn his palm, but he just smirked and looked to Ryo.~ "Oh? did that strike a nerve?" ~He just stood there, holding the ball, waitting to see Ryo's next move.~

Ryo: His stance went back to a more normal standing with his right arm held up, the cannon now pointed towards the ceiling. "Figured it'd shut you up. I know the drill, so bring it already Sulfur Breathe. Unless...you don't wanna?" Ryo had shrugged, but that was his way of covering the fact that the gauntlet morphed again. This time a sword was drawn and Ryo was quick at coming at the other, slashing every which way he could.

Kazenodeku: ~Kaze smirked that sly and playful smirk.~ "Its good to see you again Ryo... Thank you for showing that youre still in there somewhere." ~He tossed the light ball back at Ryo and turned to leave. Was that all Kaze wanted? to see if the old Ryo was still in there? or was it something more.~

((Sadly that is where the rp ends as my friend had to go to sleep. But hopefully it was enough for all to enjoy.))

I like your idea! I don't think anyone has used a plant soul yet or even thought of one! Nicely unique. (Yet I have still to go around everywhere.)

I figured plants are living, so they can have a soul too right? But yes, thank you for your comment. What do you think about the fel essence?

I like your idea! I don't think anyone has used a plant soul yet or even thought of one! Nicely unique. (Yet I have still to go around everywhere.)

Last time I checked, a rose was still a plant. So, Vyn has a plant soul.

Although not souls, there are two fel essences that have to do with plants. Eiry's Unwithering Leaf and Kumoru's Ice Rose; plants have not been ignored in the Lab [305] community, although a venus fly trap would be sufficiently different to stand apart from the others.

I do think the fel essence idea you have is really interesting, though.
