I apologize if this thread is in the wrong place. But I really would like some insight into a lifelong problem of mine. My family has been given powers I'd rather not talk about here, hopefully soon all of you will understand why. But I was warned as a child to watch out for a certain type of witch called a hunter. These witches will gather as covens or hunt alone for people with gifts such as ours. Later in life they tend to leave us alone, but as a child I could feel them watching for an opening. Like lions waiting for a sick young prey animal to be separated from it's parents. Now I still feel the ache of fear left from childhood, but I feel their eyes no more. But the fear has transformed itself into fear for my children. Until they come into their powers they are vulnerable. Anyone have any idea what I'm talking about? Any suggestions or information I might pass on would be appreciated. I have told everything about them, that was told to me.

The only kind of hunters I have ever heard about were in a fictional book. Other than that, I've never heard anything about them. I highly doubt they actually exist. But, if you believe they exist, maybe you could try looking for information on the internet about them or looking to see if there are any books about them. I don't know.

I've heard about witch hunters (the ones that hunt witches, not witches that hunt) from a few people, and I've only met one who came close to being caught, but I don't know about hunters that are witches. Could you tell me the particulars? Please pm me, I'm curious.

I've never even seen that manga/anime. I've heard about it. It seems ok, but not the kind of stuff I personally like.

This I'm not familiar with; I don't think there are witches that hunt other witches for their abilities.
In all technicality, they can't take your gifts away; your gifts are something that nature has given you...
What I have heard of, however, are psychic vampires; these are people who, intentionally or unintentionally, drain you of your energy, sometimes simply by being near you.
However, energy is replenishable, so the effects are only temporary. Anyone who comes into contact with psychic/energy vampires will feel better in a few days.
As I said, it isn't always intentional; a lot of people don't even realize they're taking someone elses energy.

That must have been confusing to you. eek Was she doing it intentionally? Did she have any idea she was an energy vampire?
