Can't Take my Eyes off of You
Sawa x Siyo x Mzuza Role Play

User Image

Sawa yawned as he rolled away from the red lump he was sleeping against. He stretched out his paws and shook off his coat, tail flicking back and forth. With sleep still in mind he looked around the land in a sleepy manner, light orbs focusing on Pride Rock in the distance. He grinned and turned, rolling his eyes as he watched Siyo.

"Ey, ey!" When his call seemed to do nothing he grunted and nudged the other with his fore paw. "C'mon, ge'up ya lazy.." He grumbled the rest to himself. He watched as Siyo rolled over but remained asleep.

Getting fed up and having far more important things to do (he was hungry) he growled and then leaped onto Siyo!

With a small yelp Siyo tried to jump up but the other's weight was already holding him down. His breaths came quickly and sharply, just bordering panic. He hated the fact that Sawa always woke up first, then did this! It wasn't all his fault that he liked to sleep... and honestly who woke other lions up like that?

"Ya tryin' ta give me a heart attack?" he snarled, grumpy from his rude awakening. He rolled sideways to get Sawa off and stood, looking cranky. "How could ya do tha' to me, Sawa?" He said with a small frown.

Sawa just laughed. "Poutin' are we?" He smirked and nudged Siyo with a paw before heading across the prideland's boarders. "C'mon we need ta eat sometime this week.." He grunted.

Unlike her sister Safuma, Mzuza wasn't one to approach the border of the Pridelands often, but today she had wandered out after chasing a beautiful butterfly with iridescent wings. Ever since she and Tetemeko had gone butterfly hunting, she had loved to chase them everywhere she went, and all of a sudden, they all seemed gorgeous to her. And perhaps it was because of the hunting trip with Meko that had sparked her ultimate wish to someday catch one. She had never succeeded, of course, and had many times turned away the thought of using some magic to spark them into coming toward her. But that was unfair. She wouldn't be using magic to catch wildebeest in the future, now would she?

The little cub toddled around a rock, realizing with a pang that she was quite far away from home now. As usual, whenever she realized she could be in potential danger, some small corner of her mind started fretting. She looked around her to ensure that she was safe - well she had to be, she was in the Pridelands. She didn't quite believe that absolutely no harm could befall her, but it would have to do for now.

Siyo stared at Sawa with a ridiculous look that showed he was clearly disgusted. "Sumtime this week.... wha' did yes'rday no count as last week?" He grunted and then laughed as his stomach gave a little grumble. "Aye pull my mane and kill me dead it did no count!" He rose and shook off a little, turning around with out waiting for Sawa. But he stopped as he spotted the girl ahead.

Sawa's eyes lit up as he started to follow Siyo. "Well there be a lil' cutie pie... I could eat 'er up!" He snickered as he purred the words into Siyo's ears, who would probably be blushing red if his fur wasn't so red...

"Oy, 'ell there lil'un." He called over, striding past Siyo and toward Mzuza.

Mzuza's glance flickered toward the two rogue lions at the sound of a voice and immediately she realized just how wrong she had been to assume that she would be safe. Of course, anyone could cross the border into the Pridelands, provided they were willing to risk it, and it did not in any way mean that there weren't lions who were. The moment the one with a black face got near, the little princess's brow knitted into a small frown or wariness. There was something about the look he had in those stunning jade green eyes of his that she didn't seem to like especially. And the fact that they were two against her one, and that they were both considerably larger than herself...

"Well, who are you?" If she concentrated enough she could keep her voice well under control so that it didn't shake as she talked. She drew herself up to look confidant and stared right back at the older lion.

Siyo glanced between Sawa and Mzuza and then strode quickly forward, whapping Sawa in the head with a paw. "You do be rediculous sometimes.." He muttered under his breath as he passed. Sawa just stared at him as if he didn't know what he'd done or said wrong.

"Hi." He said calmly, almost meekly as he dipped his head in greeting to her. "M'names Siyo and that be Sawa." It was a little confusing with both of them having such similar names, but they didn't seem to care. Sawa wasn't even Sawa's real name, he'd just made it his name when starting his roguedom.

Sawa grunted and rolled his eyes. He moved up beside Siyo and let his eyes roll over the female cub. "Aye aye, wha'e said." He muttered, slightly grumpy now. He could speak for himself!

"Siyo, Sawa," She nodded her head politely to each in turn. Despite her suspicions, growing up as she was had handicapped her with good manners, and she was not about to ignore an introduction. "I'm Mzuza." She added almost reluctantly. She would much rather have left it at Siyo and Sawa, but again her lessons in common etiquette overcame her own wishes.

"So well..." She suddenly seemed to remember why she had not exactly leapt joyfully into the conversation, as she knew Sarakiva might have. "Where are you two from? And what are you doing here?" Her gaze fluttered and caught Sawa's suspiciously and followed his eyes as he did something that seemed like he was looking her over. Unconciously, her ears twitched and pinned back ever so slightly and her tail swished lightly.

"Mzuza.." Sawa purred out and then grinned. "AThere be a rather nice ring ta it... y'know?" He smirked, not letting her pissy look put him off in any manner what so ever.

Siyo's eyes widened and he glanced at Sawa and swallowed. "Cut it out, will ya?" He hissed quietly. Why did the idiot always have to go do this? He looked back to Mzuza and offered an apologetic smile. "I was born in the Kusini'Mwezi lands bu' I hardly consider m'self from there..." He said, his voice sort of dying as he got to the end. He felt awkward talking about himself, to say the least.

Sawa rolled his eyes and sighed, pouting slightly as he looked away from Mzuza so that he could calm down a little. What was the big deal anyways? He liked girls... Siyo was such a cub sometimes! "Eh?" He glanced over. "Born an' raised a rogue m'dear, free teh travel were e'er I may wanna go." He gave a cocky grin at this because he thought this freedom was most important in life, as well as the key to happiness.

She might have scowled at Sawa, had Siyo not cut in , and she gladly turned her attention to the brighter of the pair. "The Kusini'Mwezi? I've heard of that pride." She nodded, the glare in her eyes fading but she never stopped looking a little wary of the two. By now she had figured out that they probably weren't out to get her, so she stood much more easily now.

Her gaze shifted to Sawa. "A rogue?" She pondered this. "I have a friend who's a rogue, she comes to hang out with Saf and me sometimes." Why she felt compelled to share this bit of information she had no idea, but she had.

Siyo's breathing became a little easier as Mzuza seemed to also ease up on the attitude. He smiled slightly and sat, tail curling around him. "It's a lovely place... it just isn't somewhere I'd like to stay. Does your rogue friend tell you stories?" He said, sounding interested. He hadn't been a rogue all that long himself... and if he was being honest with himself Sawa didn't have the most... interesting stories.... so maybe Mzuza could repeat some!

Sawa blinked and then pouted as Siyo seemed to dominate the conversation, but just for a moment. Sawa couldn't help how competitive he was when it came to females and attention.... "Who's this friend then? How old is she?" Partly because it was a female and partly because Sawa had his doubts of Mzuza having a rogue friend.

Sawa shot him an angry look, knowing quite well what his friend was getting toward.

"Oh? Well, it must be fun being able to travel," She said with a smile. Indeed, she had always wondered what exactly lay beyond the borders of the Pride Lands. Only the knowledge that she was still young and small and vulnerable to attack had ever stopped her from running out into the unclaimed lands beyond to see what it was like.

"Well, Intombi's from around here. She was born at the border of the Pride Lands, I believe, so where she lives and where I live aren't altogether so different, but I'm sure she has more stories than I would." She paused a moment to think. Although she had never asked Intombi for any anecdotes, she was sure she remembered the brown juve talk about her family - her mother and brother. "I haven't ever really asked her to tell any stories, though," She said truthfully.

Mzuza turned her attention to Sawa almost reluctantly. "Hmph, she's older than you!" She said confidently, although a moment later, she realized that they must be about the same age. Perhaps Intombi might be a tad older than the two rogues in front of her, but she wasn't their senior by far... Oh well, she wasn't here.
