Undisturbed for years, that was where a theif would love to make their home, a place that hadn't been seen in so long that there were those who forgot that it even existed, that was the ideal spot. That was the place that he wanted to find, that was the place that he would hide his collection that he'd already found even at such a young age. Maybe that was the bonus to being such a theif, the bonus to being such a strange child born between such two strange numa. He wasn't laid back like his mother, he wasn't awkward like his father, he wasn't anything.
Nicabar was just a theif in the night, just a monster that reared his head when he felt like it and hid himself during the rest of the times. The night... the night was when he reigned. Or rather night was when his fingers reigned, where he could pick up things at the speed of light and hide them away where the owners would never find them.
The gypsy theif of the night, his paws were faster than the fastest eye and his mouth was even faster when it came to affairs of theivery and yaoi. ninja

Had Huong known that such a small numa was about to rear his head down her path, she'd have probably ran off crying, following by along string of 'NooOooOOooo~~!' however... as it was, the small female remain seated in the middle of one of the many paths around numa land. Her eyes, despite being large and innocent held the distinct glow that signalled those of coffee heritage; they seemed to glow more in the dim light as the sun set slowly behind the gumdrop mountains.
Tilting her head, she fixed her gaze upon the floor before her paws, then lifted one claw and began to draw strange symbols on the sand, taking care to not erase the previously drawn ones with her pelt. There was no logic to her movements, and no true form to what she was drawing, but where she'd remain staring with a blank expression, upon finishing, she squealed, placed her forepaws together and smiled, "Yay! I shall now call the aliens down to Numa land! And we shall all be happy together! And they will bring me coffee with marshmallows ..." a pause after these words and her eyes moved to look away to the distance.
Maybe, she thought, bother that small-bug called Mewtwo would be easier than calling aliens though - he favoured Marsh-mellowed Coffee...
HmmMMmmMm....
Thus was how the small pup must have come across Huong; the small female seated, looking off to the distance as the sun hid entirely behind the gumdrop mountains, leaving the lands within darkness. It made her coffee body almost sparkle naturally due to her colors; she almost resembled a large jewel.

A gem!
That was all that Nicabar needed to know when he saw the shimmering dot in the distance of the base of the gumdrop mountains. He was still a pup so of course he didn't know that it was a coffee numa, let alone one with such a stunning pelt. The only thing that he knew was that he wanted that jewel to hang somewhere in his little alcove, prefferably high so that even if others couldn't see it he could show it off to the first bumbling creature that passed through.
The last shimmering stone that they would ever see.
That was his quest in life, was to find what he called 'the stone of last life'. It was Nicabar's one quest that while it was morbid it fit with the morbid nature of the candy-yet-coffee-natured male that always ended up shirking being around his family for the sake of finding shiny things to play with. To steal. To have in general.
"Crapola." Was all Nica said when he realized that the gem he saw in the distance slowly was becoming a numa, and a female at that. How unfortunate.
When she started spouting off strange words he dodged behind a rock and simply watched with wide eyes, disturbed by her actions but intreigued at the same time. He didn't like females, they were useless in his personal opinion, but this one was just... she looked like a gem. At least a perfect gem in some way. The way she glowed....
Would that make him crawl out and talk to her... oooooh no. ninja

Pondering, and pondering, the coffee female furrowed her brow; she didn't REALLY want to risk angering That-Bug-Mewtwo though... he was nasty. She didn't like nasty; though he was small, and his powers scarcely even tickled her, he was still scary. Maybe she should gamble with fate and try for the aliens...? Again her gaze moved upwards, towards the stars that shimmered much like per pelt.
She'd always liked the sky at night, because it reminded her of her pelt; it was like never truly being alone, once she knew that such a thing was... way up there, hovering over her, even when she couldn't quite see it.
The coffee and marshmallows were already far away from her mind as she extended both her front paws and spread her claws up above, sprawling them over the blanket of stars the sun had previously been concealing. She then made small grab-like motions, almost as if by closing her paws she thought she could somehow catch those sparkling dots. It was in fact, mid-attempt to 'catch' the stars that Huong paused her movements and sniffed the air. Her maw moved from side to side, her nose wiggling as she lowered her paws back to the ground, stood and sniffed away.
Sniff, sniff, sniff!
After a full minute of sniffing, the female turned her head and looked directly at the rock behind which the pup was hiding, and slowly took a step back. Her smile was gone, replaced by alarm as her large ears perked and her pelt stood on end here and there; mostly as a natural defense, her pelt shimmered more, though it of course, did nothing to help conceal her. Another step back was taken, however, her clumsy nature took reigns of the situation and the small female tripped on a rock, landing less then elegantly on her back with a terrified squeal, "Please don't eat me!" her claws came up to cover her eyes, her long tail swishing dangerously around her, carving the ground; she didn't even seem to know she was doing this, probably more of that natural defense kicking in.

"Why would I hurt you, eh?" Nicabar said his voice echoing off the walls of the mountain as he tried to make himself sound bigger than the shimmering female before him. Well at least on the other side of the rock.
She must have been fairly strong though, he could hear the ground being broken by whatever she was doing. Not quite sure if he wanted to show himself, Nicabar pricked out his claws to make sure they were sharp and ruffled his fur along the ridge of his back to think for a moment. To take that leap or to risk his life for a female.
Blah.
Springing up and latching himself to the rock like a possessed cat, Nicabar hissed at her and froze when he saw that she was actually afraid. Why would she be afraid of him? He wasn't even half her size.
"Are you that much of a chicken? Or do you just like to thrash around aimlessly and try to kill others before you meet them?" His gruff nature came from his un-baised dislike of females, but he was a little nicer to this one, as she resembled a jewel glowing in the night and the stars like that.
If only he could steal her.... That would probably be amusing and not make her OR his mother happy however. It wasn't like a numa was a jewel to be stolen after all. ninja

No sooner were the words said that one clawed hand slowly lowered from one eye, allowing the glowing blue to peek through the darkness. The movement of her lashing tail stopped as her other paw slid down her face; it was a pup.
However, life had taught her that size wasn't entirely all that important; there were very nasty things that were small, like bees! And very big things that were nice, like the swan. A pause as she sat up, however, her body did scoot away from him and inch, her maw opening, hackles raising for a bare instant, showing off that deep down, she did have a little.... tiny... minuscule bit of coffee nature within her. It vanished as soon as it'd come however, confusion replacing the initial hiss as she blinked.
Once, twice, three times, even, almost in an attempt to see beyond what she had in front of her face; beyond the pup's facade, "Chickens have feathers," she stated rather matter-of-factly suddenly, "I've got scales," the words were breathed softly, hesitantly, however, they were said with confidence, almost as if that, was that, and there was nothing else the pup could say to change said facts. Finlay standing back on all four, the female shock her frame, much resembling a drenched dog, even though nowhere was there water or any liquid; the only thing that left her otherwise immaculate pelt, were some specs of dust that drifted into the night air, "You're pretty mean for someone so small..." shaking her head, she arranged her flock of wild pink hair, then looked at the pup again, "Sometimes," she said, "When something so small, is so mean, they fill up with meaness till they explode."
No more was said, and she turned, almost as if figuring she had better leave; he didn't seem all that social. However, a stray thought struck her suddenly and she turned to gaze in confusion over her shoulder; why was a pup all alone at night?

the little pup lifted an eyebrow at her words but let them slide over him without much of a reaction at all. The gem was talking to him and in the strange words that even normal gems would have a hard time understanding. Go figure. Oh well, that was a female for you after all.
"Well personally I have no intent on exploding now or anytime soon. I do have the intent on stealing every bit of shimmering happiness from every creature of numa land and hoarding it up the best I can. I'm looking for a certain stone too.. Maybe you'd be able to help me?" Nicabar said, his voice slightly cold but gaining in a little warmth as she started to walk away.
So at least she had sense and it was easy to tell that she had the demeanor of a male in some ways, not all but some. No wonder he'd mistaken her for a gem, if she was like this constantly then it could easily get a little easier to talk to her than any other female out there. At least she had an attitude beneath all the insanity that seemed to be bubbling from her.
"Besides, you actually made me think that YOU were the gem that I was looking for, so I blame you for our little encounter with your glowing fur." That was stated like he didn't care, so blunt and final that it was rather rude in a way, sort of crude in a way. Just the way that Nicabar was in general actually.
But if he could get some help from her... ninja

Another blinking session that seemed to last bare seconds, a paw held mid air before it lowered to the ground. She did not hide the fact she was thinking; it was plain for all to see. All of what she did seemed to be right there for anyone to regard; she never made motion to hide herself. It was quite a contrast against the pup or many other numa she'd come across herself.
Others seemed to find it helped them to not look like they were thinking when they were truly thinking. Or look like they were sleepy when they were tired; Huong never did understand that and thus never followed such guidelines, "Yes well, I don't know anything about gems or stones," it was blunt and straight to the point. And honest. It was truthful, and she wasn't even ashamed of such a blunt truth, in fact, she was taking the moment to regard the smaller pup before she opened her maw again, "I am who I am; It's your fault you mistook me for a gem. I was not being very gem-like. Gems don't talk and move, and I'm quite sure I was doing both."
Again she turned to leave, and again she paused and turned back.
He wanted help. Who was she to deny it, when others seemed intent on denying it to her? "It's dark," it was again said matter of factly; it was clear in her mind you could not look for things in the night, however, her smile was slowly showing, even if couldn't see it due to the darkness, however, she left it at that and suddenly walked forward and away from the pup, waiting for him to catch up every so often, "Where have you looked?" It was quite visible she'd not had her dose of coffee yet, and thus her insanity was not at peak. Yet.

"Well it's your fault for sitting there in the middle of the open ground shimmering like a star. Any theif around these parts, had they been far away, would have mistaken you for such just as well." Nicabar said back, nearly a snap but he held his tongue because even if he was sure of his own speed he wasn't sure of how strong she was. He didn't exactly desire to be sliced in half or crushed in two by the swing of that rather strong looking tail she had and what would he tell his mother if he limped home to her with broken bones?
She'd never let him out of the den again, with good reason.
Watching the female with sharp eyes, Nicabar pondered over how she constantly tried to leave and yet stopped each time. Almost like she would start moving and the movement would make her brain kick in and her curiosity peak. He didn't blame her for it, he did the exact same thing himself truthfully. Every time he started to move it was like a shock to his brain and he always thought on his feet.
"Yes it is, but I've looked all around the mountains. It shines all on it's own, so it doesn't have to be daylight out for you to see it." The little pup said to her as a response, his tail flicking gently across the large rock that he'd once been hiding behind. Did it mean that she wanted to help him? ninja

At the snap, the female tilted her head, a blank expresion upon her features; she swiftly tilted it to the other side then and smiled, "Yes well, It's not due to a fault that I was sitting there though. So I suppose by your logic, no one is to blame for the encounter," this said she turned away from him and padded on, away from the mountains and towards where she knew the cottages and dens of the other numas were, "Maybe it was fate."
Tell truth, Huong was absent minded; that was all the problem. If he did not talk, she'd entirely forget the pup was there, and her mind would have drifted off into some other thought. Thus was why each time she recalled the pup was truly there, she'd pause, stop, and look. Not to mention the fact that deep down she WAS a coffee numa, and thus caring for others, which were not her own was not an instinct; she'd been trained to care however, and thus emotions were at conflict. She wanted to walk away like her mind would tell her to, but no sooner had she started to, her heart would tell her to stop and look back. Thus she did.
She didn't believe in fate either. But it sounded like the right thing to say, "Maybe you're looking for the stars," her gaze lifted again as she walked, her body shortly after coming to a stop, "They shine even in the daylight; pity is that the sun shines brighter," her long claws sunk into the humid ground, leaving long gashes there, almost unknowingly, "You can't catch them though; maybe what you're trying to find... isn't there; maybe it's not something you can touch," her head tilted then, again, almost as if she were pondering, an awkward position for it almost seemed as if she had some water inside her ears and she were trying to rid of it. Perhaps she was trying to rid of a thought in such a position, perhaps not; either way, she finally turned to look at him, "I've been told that the greatest treasure lies within."

His response was instantaneous, as if he'd heard her words long before she was even planning on speaking them or thinking them. "Why would I search my whole life for something that I can't see or touch? That's absurde."
That idea was ridiculous in his eyes, then again he still only had the knowledge and wisdom of a pup that had been born less than a month in advance. He imagined that once he got to be her age that he would know a little bit more about what he was talking.
Then again maybe not.
"I know that it's there, I've been told and I can just... feel it." It was the truth... that gem, that perfect gem that would serve as a warning for everything and anything that came into his lair... it was out there and it was calling out to his theif's heart. Why would something like that exist if not to tempt him? If not to make him want it and attempt to find it? Oh he would find it, he would find it and he would wrap his paws around it and hang in where the world could see it, just because it had mocked him so. Maybe around his neck... that sounded like a plan to him at least. ninja
