Since day one we have all thought there was something about Mary she knew more she did more and why did she apologize to Sam in home…
Here is my idea
Mary was a psychic. The YED mentioned the other generations. I wonder if he didn’t mean generations so much as “Born between these years” so much as he meant “child of your momma” the Next generation of your family. I think that out of the other children all of their parents were the children of the last generation and ever 20 or so years the demon “recruits” more psychics I know its along shot but think about it, it makes sense as to why Mary knew the demon said “its you” and why she apologized to him in home. I think that also explains why she had such a strong psychic signature and kept staying in the house. To me that also explains why he didn’t want to kill Mary.

Yeah, I always wondered why Mary apologized to Sam. Even Sam couldn't understand why she apologized to him...
It's a pretty good theory, but I have a feeling that they'll clear that up later on in the show. In yesterday's Supernatural, they had a flashback when Mary dies, and they make it very clear that she knew the yellow-eyed demon.

Hmm... That sounds like a nice theory. 3nodding My theory was that maybe Mary had made a deal with the Yellow-Eyed Demon and now he came back for Sam as payment.

She apologizes to Sam because of all he's gone through. She's his mother, she was supposed to take care of him and not die. She died, and abandoned him, and she's sorry. She's sorry she didn't see his first steps, hear his first words, see his first baseball game (or whatever) didn't meet his girlfriend.. couldn't protect him from that. I mean, it's not random, it's just...it's simple. Much simpler than one would think.

Well.. there was a definite intonation to her "I'm sorry".... that makes you think there's something more to it..... If she used the right infliction, I'm sure Sam wouldn't have had to ask "For what?"....

I like the theory. I don't, however, know if I'd put trust in the writers putting such foresight into such early episodes of the show! xd

WHAT?! Dude... they planed the whole evolution of Sam from the very beginning.... Why couldn't they do something with Mary.... especially since we now know that she knew about YED.... bah! BAH I SAY!

well mary isnt really a main charcter they planned the whole show round the Winchester boys but maybe she will come up again soon and we will know more about all of it

I like the theroy.. but I don't know i also like the who Idea that Marry made a deal. Ok how but this one.. what is sam wasn't suppose to be the psychic, but dean was? And mary made a deal to to keep Dean normal. But then Sammy was born and she couldn't do anything this time.. Idk that's just a theory I had...
