Just curious, what made you want to start playing, and what motivated you when you did. I started to play because the guitar is cool, and I hated the worship leaders at church, so i figured they're graduate, then I'd do worship the way i wanted, so I found the local guitar master(a player of 30 years) who is an awesome teacher, teaches chords, and gets you playing familiar stuff, and if you have potential shows you little parts and variations within and with the chords(i've been given plenty!!)
So, why did you start playing??

i strted playing whne i was young like 7 or 8, sweatdrop this is because i remebered when my dad would play to me before he died emo cry , blaugh i loved the sound whee , xd so its my lil way to remember my dad, it is also my passion to play beautiful music! xd just like my dad! ^_^ mrgreen rofl burning_eyes ninja dramallama

started plaing guitar with hopes of ending up playing the bass, since i had wanted to for a long time, but my grandparents said i had to learn guitar first so i did and now i still do. still waiting for that bass, but guitar is cool too. blaugh heart

First... because i wanted to play like Jimmy Page xp now i still want to play like him,but add a little bit of me to his playing and compose new stuff.

i simply started playing because my friends started gettin crappy little guitars for christmas and i knew somehow that i could play better. so i started learning from my dad, but i actually stuck with it and now i love it

I started playing because I was tired of hearing these insane guitarists shred out these amazing solos, and I wanted to get in on the action. But now I've realized it'll be a long time before I can do that, but I still want to stick with it. And hopefully be in an amazing band someday. Those guys make MONEY, man!

Because it is versatile, and much less expensive and more portable than a piano smile
Plus it's a cool instrument.

'cause my friend had a guitar, which he couldn't play and still can't, and he was a cool guy....
....but he left the state and I kept playing and now I'm pretty ******** good I might say....
....so what started as a way to be cool became a passion that I just stuck with and now I play 'cause it makes me happy and feel good.

hmm,...i started playing in 4th grade when my friends signed up for guitar and dragged me along...then i started to like playing guitar so i continued to.
and then i moved and met my friend who got me really addicted to guitar.
i play cuz it lets emotions out and cuz its fun!! XP

i had a guitar, and my friend kurt started playing, and i wanted to do something better than him, he was better at sports than me and everything...so i took it up and now i'm one of the best in my school

I started because I would always listen to good guitarists when I was little and they would always be men. I saw Alvin and the Chipmunks playing that red guitar in some cartoon at the age of like 6 or 5 and made the decision I was going to play the guitar as a profession someday. Since then I have never had a proper guitar or learned how to tune or any of that until I was 13. Then I self-taught myself quite a few songs, then my parents got me lessons for a christmas present a year later and since then I have been given more and more of a drive and passion to learn more, to feel more, some guitar solos and parts have touched my soul. Then I started writing songs, since I started I have joined a band and have taken my guitar to school. I play for people before school, during, and after * I have a music class and play guitar for a show choir....easy stuff though like Bon Jovi* and every musical song I hear that I listen to and sends a wow 0_0 to my ears is motivation enough for me to sacrifice hours, days, nights, and sleep to play. I am so interested into music it has become my life, my passion, my oxygen. Guitar is my number one instrument, and I love playing my guitar. It calms me, it lets me vent, it makes me happy, it brings life, it brings hope. I love playing the guitar. heart cool
