The night was just beginning to fall over the head of the sun, the star's last rays of sunshine covering the horizon and the stars not yet visible. The nights would start getting shorter the closer it got to summer, so Yubikiri was beginning to venture out earlier in the evening, even before the sun was completely setting, just so he could get some time outside before morning.

He had his back to the sun as he walked, the rays always seeming to blind his sensitive night-eyes if he wasn't careful. He didn't like the day that much, and never understood others that did. However, this was coming from a cat who lived under the canopy of stars and knew nothing more. He didn't even understand how it had come to be that way, but it was all he ever knew. He was unable to live during the day, it was just too unbarable for him.

The streets were empty of people but around the few shops that were still open, but he wasn't planning on heading over to those sections. In fact, he was just passing by the streets to head off toward the forests, the only route he knew to take. He knew it was dangerous, but when did he ever heed that warning? He was a little naive about such things, but it wasn't like he had anything on him...

The forests were peaceful, only the sound of the wind blowing through their boughs and the last chirps of birds before the light gave out. It was a lot more secluded in this area, and few people ever ventured this far by themselves. Not that he didn't mind the company of others, it was the otehr people that usually minded the company of him, Sporting his "witch's hat" he was a rather odd sight to see, and most people just thought of him as either a cult member, a fan of wizarding novels and games, or just plain weird. He didn't mind, though. After all, he never liked hurting people, and that always seemed to happen when he was around other people...

With a twitch of his furry tail he scurried past the emptied streets, hoping to find something shiny to occupy himself with. Night time was a scary thing to him, it didn't stop the sugar filled squirrel tonight. His wand was tucked into hid pocket. He had no use for it, and was actually trying to avoid the thoughts of practicing with it.

It always seemed to bring him trouble ....
He had given up his dream of getting his title back, the fairy god"father" lineage in his family was dried out. No one supported him, and no one cared to get near the "unruly little thing"

As he sighed and skittered past the tree's he thumped into something hard, dropping his wand onto the hard ground. He twitched and scattered to it, looking up to try and make out just what it was that he had hit. Noticing that it was a person he meeped slightly and panicked. "Oh.. oh my.. I'm terribly sorry" He gave a bow then left out his hand, hoping to at least help the other up. He was shaking while doing this. It was not from the sugar, but from his guilt filled face instead.

(( Gah! So sorry for the wait, I had to finish up with my schoolwork for the year before I could reply. My mom was very persistent about that... >.>; ))

Before he knew it, Yubikiri was on the floor with no knowledge of what had caused it. He grabbed for his hat before it had hit the floor, adjusting it back over his ears before trying to figure out what exactly happened. Behind him was a squirrel of rather peculiar attire, and... were those wings?

He reached for the outstretched hand, immediately feeling the nervousness around the boy and the quivering of his hand. He smiled, trying to ease the fear away. "Don't worry, I'm fine. It's okay. I should've heard you coming!" he laughed, trying to place the blame on himself in order to help calm the squirrel down.

He dusted himself off briefly, not nearly enough to get him any cleaner, but that was just Yu; he never much cared for cleanliness as much as his other feline counterparts did. Renewing his suspicion of the emptiness of the area, he turned back to the newcomer and asked, "So, what brings you out here at such a time?" He didn't see too many people wandering the forests alone like this, and the last time he did it didn't start off rather well. At least this time I have control. At least, for now I do... he said to himself, hoping he wouldn't end up attacking anyone needlessly again, especially with such a nervous person around.

Seeing something glitter on the floor behind Murray, Yubikiri leaned over curiously to the side in an attempt to get a better look. Turning into a motion to grab it, he picked up the wand off the floor and handed it back to the squirrel. "You dropped this. What do you use it for?" he asked with a smile, always one to walk on the side of magic himself.
