What am I doing here? A distant voice came into Hakim's mind. Looking about he could see a forrest rather close, though it appeared he was in an opened field. Waking up only moments ago, he had no clue where he was or how he got there.
He couldn't smell any water near by. Why did that mater? He wasn't thirsty. What if he got thirsty though? He looked to the sky. It was slightly grey, showing that it had either rained last night, or was going to rain in the next couple of hours.
He pushed himself off the grass he had been laying it. It was clearly the day time, though the greyness of the land made it seem late. Though, it didn't seem late at all. Perhaps it was just very early? The grass was a color mixed with green brown and yellow.
Was it summar time? Again, a voice entered his mind asking a question. It was his voice, sort of. He hadn't said anything in so long, he had forgotten his voice. He had no reason to say anything. Well, at least right now he had no reason to.
Why would I? There's no one here. The voice echoed in his mind. Or at least, he couldn't see anything. There was chirping of birds in the background, but he didn't put his attention to that. No, there wasn't anything interesting to put his attention to for the time being. Just like any other day in this place.

Zaria prowled about in the grasses of a field, her senses shifting from one direction to another, searching for possible prey. Her stomach growled; she shouted out to herself in fustration. She hadn't eaten in the longest time, and she so far hadn't found anything out here. "What does one have to do to get some food around here?!" Finding a large rock close by, she leaned back against it, gazing into the grey clouds.

Hakim looked about as a voice came out of nowhere. That wasn't right. He was all alone! He even looked. He felt rather irritated with himself not realizing that he had missed a possible threat.
Where did that come from? The voice asked him again. Well, it came from somewhere. Soon his greenish brown eyes came upon a very bright red Ulaya. Well, that was strange. He'd never seen another type like him. The color of this one was blinding. It wasn't like him at all. Had a almost female look to it. Maybe it was a female of his type?
Yes, that had to be it. He stood up and crept closer to the other. Still silent as ever, though his interest was tickled from this one. He wanted to learn more of this creature. If they were some how the same type, and if they where how many more of them were they?

Zaria had stopped paying attention to the clouds and closed her eyes; she sensed someone close by. Could it be prey? Opening her eyes, she looked around, until she gave out a sudden cry and slid over the side of the rock, upon notice of the other ulaya approaching her. Realizing as to how much of a spectacle she had made of herself she brushed the dust from her fur and walked up to the ulaya. "And who would you be? sneaking up on others?", She said, slightly irritated.

What do you care if someones sneaking up on you, it looks to me like you enjoy it. The voice said. Hakim closed his eyes and then opened them and tried to smile at the female. He opened his mouth, then shut it. He hadn't spoken in a long, long time.
He didn't even know if he had a voice any more. Of course you have a voice, it's me. Stupid. He didn't let the voice bother him too much. He tried it again. This time a very quiet, small voice came out. "I'm Hakim." His voice was some-what deep.
"I didn't mean to frighten you." Yes we did. He hated that. Everything that voice said was wrong! He stopped right where he was and sat down, just so the other wouldn't think him as a threat. Go on... Attack her.

Zaria looked curiously at Hakim then looked away. "Hmph, I wasn't frightened.", she obviously lied. "Not at all..."

Hakim smiled. He didn't want to have one of his first incounters with another to start off bad. He looked to the ground, letting a few second pass before he said another word.
" I was only curious." He said in a deep voice. " You are one of the first adult like me, that I've ran into." He hadn't noticed her wings yet. He wasn't sure about subspeices or anything else. He just knew she looked alot like he did. Despite the color and despite she had a bit of fluff on her head, where he didn't.

Zaria looked back over to Hakim "Surely you must have met other ulaya besides me...Don't you get out much?" She sat down next to the Hakim, trying to distract her growing hunger by looking at some of the small insects that crawled onto the ground. Then her stomach growled again, bringing along the usual pain from lack of food. "Owww...", She whispered to herself.

Hakim shook his head and closed his eyes. "I'm new around here. I've never been to this area until now." His voice was very calm. He talked so smoothly. He heard her little sound to herself, well, anyone could if they were sitting right next to her like he was.
"Is there something wrong?" He asked opening his eyes and looking at her. He still hadn't noticed her wings. Though, when he did, he wouldn't have said anything. They were the same, who cared if she had something he didn't?

Zaria closed her eyes and nodded. "Hmm..." She couldn't really believe him. There was bound to be a few other ulaya around here. Upon Hakim's question she opened her eyes and jumped back to attention, giving out a small laugh. "Oh, its nothing, really...I'm ok" She decided to try and change the subject a bit. "So....where did you use to live?"

He had no memory of where he lived, but he knew he was alone. He knew he had no family and he knew he hadn't met anyone else. Or at least, he thought he did. "I have no memory of it." He figured he forgot it for a reason.
"I guess it wasn't that important of a place, or it was to horrible to remember." He said with a smirk.

"Mmmhmmm...Then you must have traveled for a while, to have forgotten your old home so easily." Zaria looked back up into the sky, looking beyond the clouds and started to ponder on things. Now that she thought about it, she didn't really remember where she originally came from either. Only to look back on her journeys and the obstacles, and ulaya that she had came across. "I don't really like the look of those clouds." Noticing, as she mused, that the grey clouds were starting to darken a bit.

He thought about that for a moment. Had he really forgotten it as easily as she thinks? Perhaps. He sat silent for a minute, had no care in the world that he didn't know where his past started. Though, he wished he could leave one part behind.
I heard that. You know you don't want me gone. I'm what keeps you sane while your alone. It wasn't true, or at least he didn't want to admit it was. He looked to the female and smiled. "Rain is good for the grass, and everything" he said.

Zaria fluttered her wings nervously, sounding almost seemingly scared "I-I..." She cleared her throat. "I know that.", She said in a stuck up tone. She was almost frightened by the water, though she would never admit it. "I just don't like how the rain makes my wings feel all wierd." She then immediatly stopped her wings from fluttering, realizing what she was doing. "Sorry...." She had to rememeber to control her wings a little better. She pinned her ears back, expecting the usual reaction that she got.

He paid no attention to her rudeness. He was the one that was being rude. "maybe it's best we find a nice tree that can cover those wings." He had now just noticed she had wings. Of course, she had to just point it out to him. Though, he didn't even really look her over.
"I'm sorry if I was rude." He said closing his eyes. No your not. You like to be rude. Only if he wasn't around another... He would have said something but he stopped himself. He didn't want her to think he was yelling at her. He opened his eyes and smiled.
