My car, a civic, is equipped with "Hondas Theft Deterrent system". Great, so nobody will ******** with my car... but what happens when I ******** myself? I sit and scream because my alarm wont turn off. My friend seems to believe because it isnt just a beep beep alarm, it is an aftermarket alarm, which confuses me as it says "Honda anti theft deterrent system" Right on my car. I was also told I didnt have an immobilzer, which my friend seems to think I do.
My car wasnt fully insured for the past few weeks, and was sitting under storage insurace for a good 2 months, so today my neighbour asked me to move my car a bit so he could get into his space easier. So, I go to turn my car on and there is resitance on the third stage of the ignition, but it still goes there and......
*silence* So, I look at the ignition, its wont stay on the 3rd stage, so I try it again.
*silence* Hm... I need a jump start. Okay, I call my dad who comes down, and since im in a parking garage, we decide to slow start my car using a battery recharger then wait a bit to start it, abut then the silence was broken. The alarm started to go off. Quickly, I go to grab my keys and turn off the alarm... but ohnoes!! The car doesnt have enough power to turn off the alarm.
So we unhook the battery charger and get our neighbour to move his car and then go to jump start it. By then, the alarm had shut off. But, as soon as I try to turn the ignition with the jump starters, even then the car wont turn on all the way or even make an attempt to start the engine, but the lights do come on as does the alarm.
But, there isnt enough power again, but I do have it in 3rd stage. But by this time, we get the car to atleast shift into neutral with the alarm still going off, turn off the car and sit for the next 10 minutes with the occasional pathetic beep coming from the hood of the car.
How the ******** do I turn off the alarm at rechage the battery? So, I call up honda and they have no idea either.
Help? Does it sound like I have an immobilizer? I sure as hell dont know

xD Thanks anyways. I'll probably call AAA/BCAA and get them to handle it. Give them the keys and just say "Fix it" But that will come when I get more money

I just figured it out, found the trigger switch and switched it to a different position. It wasnt where we were told it was. Even after that the alarm went off, but it allowed the alarm to be disabled via my remote
Geez. That was really freakin hard.
