"And that's the way it is, Da." Fiara had been sitting cross-legged near the campfire that her fiery father Xiang was cooking over, he was listening intently while cooking a mixture of marshmallow and berries. This was his second attempt at melting the berries into the fluff, the first had failed when the mix scorched over a too hot flame.
"Well," Xiang began, "I'm sure she'll be okay, it hasn't happened before, I'm sure it won't happen again. She said she was fine right?" He looked at his daughter while he spoke but turned his attention back to his cooking after and missed the falling expression on her face.
"I guess you're right," Fi said her tone low, she stood, "I'll be back in a bit, I'm gonna take some of that plant to her. Bye." She took to the air and headed in the direction of the falls.
"I never know just what to say to her," Xiang spoke aloud to himself, slowly stirring the blue and red fluff. The colors hadn't blended as he thought they would but the mix had melted together nicely and he took it off the fire to cool.

Renem stepped out of the small home a small distance away from there comfortable camp site. not knowing there daughter had taken off, he made his way carefully down the path, the familiar sounds of his mate cooking guiding him.
"that smells wonderful" he said with a soft smile. feeling along until his paw brushed against Xiang's warm fur. leaning down to gently kiss Xiang's cheek.
"doing better this time hum?"
it was a long process to get to his home. not only was the Swamp a great deal farther from Candy land then he enjoyed, he had to walk all the way back to his home with pain constantly stabbing at his body. but he was finally getting closer and closer to his home. he could already see the fire from there camp burning... his fathers cooking sounded wonderful right now.
Renem's head fins twitched, and he turned his head slightly, cheek rested on Xiang's shoulder.
"Jayce is home... but his strides off," he furrowed his brow in a concerned mannor
traveling with Jedrek was as silent as usual. and his pace was nothing more then a casual meandering. he acted no different then he always did, as if he was not newly mated to a goddess of a Numa. most Males would kill for that opportunity...

Calypso walked along side Jedrek, not minding the quiet. She also didn't seem like a newly mated female.. She didn't skip and bound around happily, she just walked calmly. Though, there was a very smug grin on her face. Victory. Though she made sure that there was always at least half a foot's distance between her and her mate, to be sure none of his.. fluids would splash or drip on her perfect fur.
When asked to visit his family, she'd been rather hesiatant at first. Though after being promised some good home cooked food, and forcing her mate to stop and let her bathe and pretty herself up, she had agreed.
The fire ahead of them made her head tilt up, eyebrow raised curiosly. "Is that it, Jedrek?"

Xiang giggled and nuzzled Renem sideways, "Actually it is," he set the pan aside to cool and firm up, then he planned to cut it into squares. He turned to hold Re and kiss him back but turned his head to look when Re spoke of their dark son. "Off?" Coming towards them was Jayce, Jedrek and a brightly colored female. Jayce seemed to be walking differently for sure.
"What could of happened?" There was concern in his high pitched voice, he knew that his son did not get along well with others, he hoped that it was just a phase he would grow out of soon.

"yes" he answered in a monotoned tone. "looks like Xiangs makin' somethin'"
also curious as to why there son was limping, the questions only added up as he noticed a very different scent in the air along with his brothers and sons.
his grip firmed on Xiang, then he let go and strode forward a bit, as if to meet Jayce half way. eyes staring off as they always did at nothing. but his face looking concerned.
Renem held his hands out for his son, but with out a word to him he felt Jayce limp right past him, and up towards the small house.
he lowered him arms, face falling as well.
"do we have a guest Jedrek?" he asked, not wanting to be rude to the Numa that had accompanied them, though his face gave away how he was really feeling.
Jedrek continued to walk into the camp. sitting down at one of the logs, and glanced back at Renem "her name is Calypso" he said, in his strange introduction. then turned to stare at Xiang, in his strange greeting... strange beast.

Calypso continued to follow, glancing back at her fish and giving them a stern look. Understanding imediately, they started moving in over time, making her fur perfectly straitened and placed so that she looked unnaturally beautiful. No one was suppose to look as clean and primped as she did. It was amusing to think that she was mated to such a disgusting creature such as Jedrek.
She seemed to ignore the sad expression Renem had, walking up to him and offering a paw, head tilting and fur and fins slowly moving down to cover one eye, while the other glowed and sparkled nicely. Though of course her efforts were mostly lost on Renem, since he couldn't see her. Didn't matter. She didn't realize he was blind yet, and was preparing to be her usual flirtatious self.
"Good evening... It's truely a pleasure to meet you." She purred, voice smooth and deep for a girl, but it was still feminine. She hoped that the brat's parents were more polite than their spawn...

Xiang watched his son walk right past Renem, he's expression was a cross between concern and disapproval. He would go and check on Jayce in a while, bring him something to eat and see what was paining him, but he knew from past experiences to let him be for a bit.
He turned his gaze from the retreating dark numa and attempted to brighten his expression, "Hullo again Jedrek." He nodded to the Coffee, Xiang had gotten used to the caffeine smell the male gave off but he instinctively positioned himself up-wind if it was possible.
He made his way to Renem's side again and greeted the highly interesting female "It's very nice to meet you Calypso." He gave her a warm smile and wondered why she was so exotic, maybe she had some Coffee in her blood. "You must be a tired if you've come from the Swamps, come and sit with us?"

not having seen her paw being held out. Renem only stood there, eyes starring blankly at a spot off tot he left of her. but his smile warmed as she spoke, she had an elegant voice, not very surprising, since she smelled like she would have a nice voice.
his head shifting slightly as he felt Xiang next to him he nodded
"the Pleasure is ours. its not very often my brother comes home with Guests."
letting Xiang take over the hosting, since he would probably not do that well in leading her to a spot to sit. he fell silent, a pleasant smile still on his face.

Calypso frowned at Renem for a moment, paw still outstretched. With a 'hmph' she lowered it, then glanced to the approaching firey male. She squinted at him, eyes adjusting to his glowing body, then nodded slightly. Though polite, there was a tenseness as she looked over him. For a moment she thought he was a female, and of course that set her envious, over competitive juices flowing. Though when she looked closer she knew he was male, the first impression was still there, and first impressions always seemed to stick in her mind. His unique, beautiful appearance didn't help ease her.
She smiled at them both tensely, but politely. "Yes, I am rather tired... It's been such a LONG day..." She sighed tragicly then moved past him, bowing her head in respect, then moved over to sit beside Jedrek.
"And.. My, that just smells SO delicious..." She purred, glancing to Jedrek to see if he noticed her close to him.

Xiang continued to smile feeling a bit like he was being scrutinized, he wasn't quite used to it though it mostly always happened when he met someone for the first time. One paw went through his hair and then he smoothly put his other paw in Re's and led the night sky numa to sit across from Calypso who had joined Jedrek.
"Oh, it's just something I've been fiddling with, I'll serve some up when it's cooled, it's much to hot and gooey now, before that would you like something to drink, maybe?" Xiang filled the role of hostess easily though he wasn't quite sure what to say. "Or you could tell us a bit about yourself? I'm sure Jedrek has told you all about us, or maybe the important stuff?" He finished lamely, he hadn't quite gotten the hang of it.

Renem listened patiently. gently taking his seat where Xiang led him. placing his paws comfortably on his belly, eyes starring off at nothing as he listened to his mate and Calypso talk. he could not help but giggle at the sound of Xiangs voice. he could tell it was slightly awkward for him, but it was just to cute.!
Jedrek's head shifted slightly, his blank mind brought back for a moment with the presence of a figure next to him. his eyes locked blankly on calypso for a moment, he slurped and looked around to Xiang that had started talking.
had he told Calypso about his family? he didn't remember.

She grinned at Jedrek contently, happy that he had acknowledged her. She shifted a bit closer to him, though still not touching him. It would be obvious that she DIDNT want to touch him, cause she glanced at the distance between them, judging on whether or not it was enough so that nothing would drip on her. Satisfied with her placement, she looked up to Xiang and Renem, ears twitching down.
"Well... I haven't really heard anything about you. Well, accept for the basics. And a few comments from your..." She had to bite her tongue to keep from saying 'brat son' but instead she purred smoothely. "..spawn."
"But I suppose I could tell a bit about myself..." She thought for a moment, pondering what fascinating parts of herself she should ramble about.

"Spawn?" Xiang murmured, he thought that she must mean Jayce, but wasn't that sorta rude to put it that way.
"Ah, umm, well that's okay, it just gives us more to talk about then." Xiang did notice how she spaced herself from Jedrek, he thought it odd, why sit so close to him if she didn't want to be touching? She seemed happy enough with her spot. He said nothing on it though for he thought that rude of him to see it.
"How about how you and Jedrek came to be friends?" He smiled the question was innocent enough he thought, maybe?

Renem also raised his eyebrows at the term. it certainly an interesting way to refer to there son, and he was not entirely sure she meant in a disrespectful way. with how Renem had returned home... it made Renem wonder.
moveing his paw to the side, to take Xiang's paw as he heard his mate repeat the word in an undertone, he continued to smile politely.
"meeting Jedrek must have been interesting. from what I hear its always a bit strange at first." he chuckled softly "I have to admit big brother, even I was a bit awkward upon meeting you"
upon having the topic turned onto him he looked over at his brother and brother in law. a small smirk crossing his lips. popping his jaw before he spoke.
"ya would be surprised on how many act... what I suppose is normal when they meetin' me"
shifting a claw to the side, ignoring the hair that fell over half his face, and shifting his eye over to look at Calypso.
"I think she dropped a rock on me at first?" he said. more asking her to confirm his memory

Calypso blinked and tilted her head slightly, one ear drooping down as she strove to remember. "I.. can't recall. I know you were... well, not dieing, but you were out of coffee beans... Someone had left you some, but they were out of your reach." She nodded and smiled over at Jedrek. It wasn't really an affectionate look, but more possessive and amused.
"You were so fascinating, but... Darling, you are so disgusting, I couldn't bare to go near you... do you remember?" She sighed softly, eyes falling closed for a moment. "Such a wonderful day."
