He started out as just another nobody in GaiaOnline's flood of users. But now, he has officially been titled 'Gaia's coolest member'.
While randomly browsing through the many forums of Gaia last Monday night, Askeptykal, affectionately called 'Skepty' by close friends, accidentally entered himself into the social site's 'Coolest User Competition'.
"I'm not even sure how it happened," says Skepty. "I thought I was just signing a petition for a Gaian Game version of chess."
However, Skepty received an overwhelming majority of votes, finishing way ahead of other crowd favorites, including site co-creator Lanzer and the NPC Ian.
"I just don't get it," says Lanzer. "I thought everybody loved ME! I'm just going to have to go cry about it."
Upon first hearing of the victory, Skepty was quoted as saying, "...wait, what?"
Skepty attributes his popularity to his expertly-made .gif animations, as well as the 30,000+ members of the guild he calls his home, 'Why Not?'.
When asked what he planned to do now that he was Gaia's Coolest Member, Skepty shrugged and replied, "I dunno. Maybe more people will draw me avvie art and stuff. Or something."
Skepty also added, "no group glomps, please."
