The path even seemed to get darker as the pair approached the looming trees. Renzt, for one, had expected some kind of noise, an indicator of the foul beasts he was obviously going to slay. But, no. There was only...silence. An eerie silence, in fact. And then, in an instant, it hit.
About 10 yards from the treeline, everything went almost pitch black! It was easy to see why; the towering trees ahead blocked out the sun in its entirety. No wonder they called this Shade Forest...
Upon reaching the sky-scraping treeline, Renzt paused and unsheathed his sword from its leather hilt, brandishing it awkwardly in front of him. They both gazed ahead; the path split through the row, heading down a gloomy path for a long distance before curving off to the right. And here you stand, ready to go. Ready to fight. Turning to you, a hint of nervousness in his pattered breath, Renzt chuckles darkly.
"Heh...looks like...fun, eh? Yeah...fun."
Fun is. Fun is.
Well, definitely not this, for sure. It's not time to choose a path yet; the path is clearly defined so far. But choices would have to be made. Soon.

((yay, i get to help start a mental thread!))
Sasha looked at the gloomy interior nervosly. It hadn't looked this creepy from farther away. She dug around in her pocket for a mintue before coming up with the box of matches. She looked around for something to burn to make a troch, but nothing stood out. She lighted the match and walked a few nervous steps in, then saw an extremely big branch. It was perfect! She grabbed it and quickly held the dying match to it, ignoring the pain as it moved closer to her hand. It finaly caught, and she held it up twith releif while sucking on the burnt spto on hre hand. She took one last look at her childhood home before starting in, expecting Renzt to follow.

Renzt followed closely behind her. They slowly edged their way through the forest, and hadn't made it very far when, out of the blue, a small chatter emanated from behind the pair. Renzt almost jumped out of his skin, shouting at the top of his lungs, a mix of fear and surprise erupting out of his throat.
"WHAT!? WHAT WAS THAT? SHOW YOURSELF, CHARLATAN!"
Oh, Renzt. It showed itself, alright. Just a harmless little bunny! Cute and fluffy, it poked its head out of the brush, cocking its ears every which way and looking intently at Renzt.
"Oh, hello there, you little-"
RROAR!!!
The beast lunged with a sudden growl, raging through the air, aimed directly at Renzt's throat. With a quick dip, he dodged the beast, but spun around, catching the surprisingly vicious rodent in a deadlock, circling what should be an easy kill....in normal circumstances. His guard still raised, he turned to Sasha, asking,
"Do you want me to get this one while you, you know, learn from the master (ohhh yeahhh), or do you want to jump alongside my expert blade in this match of fur and steel, milady?"
Bunnies. Damn things'll bite your head off.

((night))
Sasha almost shreiked when she heard the chatter after the silence that had filled the forest. She had turned to look at what had made the noise, and was about to coo over the 'cute little bunny' when it gave a very uncute-litttle-bunny like noise and jumped at Renzt. She was surprised at how fast he was, but rolled her eyes again when he called himself 'master'. She had the feeling tha she would be doing a lot of eye-rolling on this trip. "Don't kill it yet, i want to see something first." She scouted around for another branch, a smaller one this time. Finaly finding a satisfactoy one, she picked it up and went back to the freaky bunny. She shoved it into the rabbits jaws, and when they opened, she wasn't all that surprised to find that it had the jaws of a carnivore, sharp and pointy. "Ok, you can kill it now" she said as she turned to throw the stick back into the trees. It did make sense that their were carnivorous rabbits, after all, what vegetation was their to eat? The darkness prevented everything but the trees from growing, and that wasn't good for plant eaters. She made a note to watch out for all animals now,m even the cute and fuzzy ones.

"Then stand back and watch a pro in action!"
Swinging his rusty blade high above, the "warrior" lept in the air, with a bloodcurdling howl. He lept a good foot, too. Not bad for his age. Not good, either. Coming down with powerfully mediocre force, he struck the vorpal bunny with a fit of rage! AHA!! The first spilt blood of a soon-to-be warpath!
Wait. Did he miss?

Success! His blade cut the foul beast in half, blood, fur, and buckteeth exploding every which way! Glory was his! Glory for Renzt!
Now, if only he could pull the stupid blade out of the ground...
"Okay. 1, 2, 3!!!"
CRRAASSHHH!!!
He flew back with astounding power, landing headfirst in a bussh after doing a backflip, timestep, barrel roll, cartwheel, harlem shake, triple lindy and self-suplex into a double hari-kari with a cherry on top. Basically, he flew on his a**. Calling from his tangle of limbs...and other limbs...he still regained his "manly" composure...
"I have done it, milady! I defeated the bunny! Oh, the bunny. Oh, the victory. Oh, the GLORRRYYYYOWWW MY BACK!!! Ugh...could you lend me a hand, here? Ow..."
Look who's tough now...

Sasha couldn't help it when a giggle escaped her at the sight of Renzt laying on the ground after pulling his sword out of the ground. SHe went over to him and pulled him up, shaking with laughter. She finaly managed to astop and went over to the rabbit. She could see one of the severed paws twitching so she crushed it before collecting the peices. Wait a second, i need to skin this and stuff so we can save it for later. She sat down and stuck the torch in the gropund enxt to her and took a knife out of her bag. She proceeded to skin and dress the rabbit, scrunching up her nose at the smell. This had never been her favorite chore, but someone had forced her to learn how, although she couldn't remeber who.. When it was finaly done, she tossed the bloddy carcass to renzt so that he could hold it while she looked for something to wrap it in. Their was no way she was carrying that thing in a forest as creepy as this one.

Nearby, a much shorter, greener tree bore large, palm-like leaves, an excellent candidate for wrapping bloody bunny carcasses in! mrgreen

((oh thats great rofl ))
Sasha went over to the tree first cleaning her hands on one of the leaves, and then pivking another one and taking it over to Renzt.
"Here, wrap it up in this. You get to carry it, think of it as an honor. You know, all the protecting the fair maiden from carnivorous beasts that will be attracted to the smell of blood. That sort of thing"
With those words, Sasha Picked up the torch again, waiting only a second to make sur ethe bunny was wrappe dup properly before moving down the path again, keeping an eye out for suspicous animals that attacked humans when they should be running away in fear.

"Sweet!"
Renzt was pumped about his kill. Best to let him have fun while he still could...up about another 10 feet on the trail was a big wooden sign, one which Renzt ran to with enthusiasm, hoping to ascertain some kind of super awesome information about the Forest...
He came back with mixed results, holding a piece of paper in both hands and studying it carefully...
"Uh...it told us we were going to die...that kinda sucks, huh? But listen! Tacked to the post were afew maps of the area. I took one! Look!"
Turning the map around infront of your face, as if it were a first grade art project, Renzt displayed the helpful chart with pride...nothing on it was explained, as detailed as it was. Still, it showed the exits and paths that led just about nowhere, so it would be useful enough...

((cool, did you make it?))
Sasha grabbed the map and studied it, trying to figure out where they were. "Well, i suppose for now we just have to keep going forward, and then we can see which way to go when we get to a fork." Satisfied that she at last had some sort of plan, Sasha folded the map and stcuk it in her pocket. She was trying to lact like she knew where they were going, but she was completely lost. She was stuck in a creepy forest with beat eating bunnies and some weird old wannabe-shakespear gaurd she somehow picked up along the way. Well this was certainly turning into an adventure.
As Sasha walked through the forest, she finaly came to the split. She looked at the paths leading away into the darkness and took out the map again, unsure of which way to go. She handed it to Renzt and asked "which way do you think we should go?"

[Yep! cool ]
"Well, I think we should- AHHH!! BUNNIES!!!"
Three vorpal bunnies stood in your path, teeth bared, growling. Drawing his sword clumsily, Renzt began the charge, rushing forward and slicing the left wing-man wing-bunny, ening up on the other side of the villainous group and putting you two in a pincer formation on the enemies.
Calling out from the other side of the mini-villains, Renzt proposed you join the fight.
"Hey! Sasha! Mind giving me a hand, here?"
