Fiona crossed the parking lot with her co-worker Gon, both dressed in simple street clothes and both carrying guns on their hips. As they approached the simple looking building before them, Gon pulled out his wallet, flipping it open and holding it up towards the construction, a small silver badge flashing in the street lights. A discreet door in the side of the building opened almost immediately, a short man in a fine suit stepping out and approaching them. "Names and order of business," he demanded in a monotone voice, glaring at them over his large nose. Fiona spoke for the both of them, "Fiona and Gon, we were called here by Coemghen." At the mention of his name the small man steps aside and nods, holding the door open for the two. He smiles viciously, sinister looking canines dropping well below his bottom row of teeth. Before he can blink he finds a large gun in his face, with an even larger man behind the gun. "Don't you bare your fangs at me doorman," Gon breaths, knocking back the hammer slowly. "There'll be no need for that Gon," Fiona says, pulling his arm down and stepping in front of the short man, "let's go..."
"I hate that guy..." Gon whispers, just barely in ear shot of the doorman who's now sitting a chair next to the entrance, picking up his magazine. "I know, but there's no need to draw your gun on him," she whispers back urgently, following the hallway to the right and stopping at a plain metal door, glaring at the peephole. After a second of silence lock was pulled back and the door opened, a man much like the doorman nodded and stepped aside for them. At the end of this hallway was an elevator, and though it was a three story office building, it only had a down button. Fiona pushed this button and waited impatiently as the box rose from the basement. A bell dinged and she straightened, stepping forward before the doors were completely open. Gon followed slowly, leaning against one of the wood paneled walls and looking over at his partner. "What do you think he wants?" he asked, glancing down at the floor in case she didn't understand who he meant. "Don't know..." she muttered, crossing her arms over her chest.
The bell dinged again and the doors closed, leaving the two in the soft light. The box lurched and started down, going much faster than normal elevators. On the wall there were only two buttons: Up and Down. There were no stops on this elevator. "Why're you so uptight?" Gon asked, eyeing his partner as she flexed her hand repeatedly. "I don't know...i just feel like something's off. Don't you feel it?" He shook his head, not caring that she couldn't see him, he knew she'd take his silence as a no. At about that point his sense of security went out the window as the elevator came to an abrupt stop, making him drop to his knee. They both had their guns out, although how much good it'd do them they didn't know. Neither of them breathed, all of their senses on edge as they waited for a few intense seconds while nothing happened. “Greetings to you Gon and Fiona.." A soft, almost menacing voice blared out around them, seemingly from nowhere. Was it in their heads, or were their speakers hidden behind the walls. "You may be wondering why you've been summoned here today. A very special gift has been planned for you two, and today you will receive that gift.” The short speech was followed by a dangerous sounding chuckle that sent shivers up Gon's back and made the hairs on his neck stand up. “You two were chosen for your amazing exploits as bodygaurds for the high order, and for your loyalty to the covens. But now another question arises: What's this gift? There's really no way to explain this, so i'll just give you a hint. A brain-teaser for you while you wait. It's going to be bloody." You could almost hear the smile on the that face, whatever it looked like. It'll be blody? What kind of hint is that? Gon thought, his mind racing for an escape route, finding only two possibilities: The door and the ceiling. He decided for the door first. Holstering his gun, he walked to the door and surveyed it quickly. Unlike the rest of the elevator car the door was stainless steel, polished enough to reflect his reflection back on him. The door was also split down the middle, opening to both sides instead of just one. This split is where he planned to work.
He dug his fingers into the split in the door, pushing into the black rubber meant to seal the car completely, gripping as best he could. Before he could pull though he heard an ear-shattering scream behind him. His gun was out and he faced the other way immediately, staring at a writhing Fiona that lay curled on the floor. He ran to her side, which really only took two steps, and dropped to a knee beside her. "What is it Fiona?" he asked, pulling her up towards him and moving her hands from her face. He grimaced at what he saw. A single red spot, about a centimeter in diameter had appeared on her forehead, contrasting nicely with her pale skin. "It's burning..." she squeaked, her hands grasping his wrists and squeezing tightly. "Blood..." he muttered, his sharp nose picking up the scent. The hint made sense now. "Where'd it come from?" he asked, watching her eyes pinch shut in pain. "Up..." she whispered, opening her eyes for a second before passing out. "s**t!" he whispered, letting her down to the floot and standing. He walked to the spot she was standing and looked up, trying to see past the grating that hid the maintenance hole in the ceiling.
Squinting his eyes into the light now, reaching up to push on the grating a small drop of red fell from the light. He watched it come down, almost as if in slow motion he watched it fall directly above his head, and started moving to dodge it. Inches from his face he pulled out of the way and pushed his back to one of the walls, the blood splashing against the floor at his feet. He looked up and watched another drop fall, then another, and another. They started coming faster, almost in a stream now, no, they were definitely coming in a stream now. It was like they were coming out of a faucet and it was being turned higher. The blood soaked into the carpet, spreading out towards his feet. He skirted the bloody carpet and started working on the door again, pulling at the split in it as hard as he could, his muscles flexing and a vein bulging out on his forehead. Nothing budged...he was trapped. The stream of blood slowly turned into a torrent, splashing up on his pants and soaking through them to his bare skin, seemingly setting it on fire. He cried out and tried to swipe the blood off of his pants, covering his hands in red and setting them on fire. He screamed, his entire body tensing in pain. Then nothing. The pain was gone and all went black.
I believe Tia's already forewarned this RP, i've been working away at it slowly, but my hectic schedule's been interfering. This is just a taste of the story, i'm sure it'll be summarized later on to make it a little easier to get into. I know nobody's going to want to read a novel just so they know what's going on. I hope you enjoy this though. I'd really appreciate comments/feedback/opinions/etc. Thankyou ^_^
P.S. ~ I'm sorry i forgot to mention this earlier, but Tia is the co-creator of this story. It originaly came from a dream she had where the scene above took place. We decided together to make it into a story, and eventually a RP (if i ever finish writing the damned thing...) I apologize again for not stating that earlier.

Ok I have been asked this about it (I am the co creator of this rp). "Why does the blood hurt?"
The answer is. The blood hurts because it is transforming them. This is special blood that is taken from the Rarebloods. These are "elite" vampires. They are more powerful than your 'everyday, dumb bloodsucker' vampire and they have special gifts, i.e mind reading, clairvoyance, or something, and does not just have to do with the mind.

I've explained in an earlier post what Rarebloods are, an 'elite' group that are stronger and have special powers. Kind of like the 'ruling class' or 'nobles' of vampires. You become a vampire by being bitten by one. They are venemous, and the venom spreads through the persons body until it has flowed through through every vein and capillary and whatnot. It changes you as it flows, making you paler, strengthening you, making your brain work better. Alot like in Twilight except our vampire don't sparkle. (For a better idea, read Twilight by Stephenie Meyer or visit the Twilight Lexicon here The Twilight Lexicon ) As to how to fight a vampire: Its hard. Vampires are strong and fast, and very cunning. You must be highly skilled at what you do. Most vampire have been around for many many years, and have had time to train various things. I'm not saying they are all powerful, you can kill them. but they are a *bleep* to fight most of the time.
