i know the title os un clear but :
throughout the whole of scrubs it is hinted that Dr. Cox was just like J.D at one point in time.
talk : -if they did a episode/series set ... 10 years into the future would J.D be Cox or would he still be... well ... how he is now ? -is Cox secretly aware of JD's idolisation of him ?
and anything else on the subject !

Of course Cox knows!
By the way, I would have to agree with you, because they many simularities accept J.D. is more sensitive then Cox...in some areas.

Also except for the fact that Cox always talks about how horrible his childhood was, and about how his dad was an abusive alcoholic. :/
I guess you could loosely base a connection between their childhoods on the fact that JD was always poor when he was a kid? Like they both had shitty childhoods?
But you're mostly just talking about the 'when I was an intern' thing.

Not to mention when Dr. Cox says,
"What are you saying, Newbie? That you wanna be like me? I can't understand it...I just barely wanna be like me."
...implying that he never wanted to be how he is currently, as opposed to J.D.'s almost-religious obsession with him.
And then, we meet Dr. Cox's "mentor", who is noticably more kind than Cox is to J.D.
If J.D. does end up like Dr. Cox, he'd just be a Cox copycat.

At one point Jorden tells JD that he acts like Dr. Cox when he was younger.

As long as turk is around J.D will never end up just like Cox. Turk would keep J.D from becoming bitter. biggrin

I see what you're saying, and I definately see where you're coming from, but I doubt that JD will ever be like Cox is.
Despite the fact that JD idolizes Cox, they're very different. Well, that goes without saying, but if you watch when they get into something of a tiff, JD always stands up to Cox in the end. I think that strength will keep him the way we know and love him. <33
Plus, I seriously doubt that Cox would let JD become anything like himself. He really does care about the kid in a fatherly way, I think, and I doubt that he would stand on the sidelines if JD started to be more cynical/sarcastic/etc.

Well, Dr. Cox is a bit like J.D. After all they do both have a black best friend.
Also has anyone wondered if Cox was like J.D. and wanted to have a mentor?
