Do you remember the first time you heard AFI? Or maybe even the first time you heard a certain song or saw a certain video? Share your special moments whee
The first time I heard AFI, I was sitting at home watching MuchMusic, and Girl's Not Grey came on. I sat there in awe watching it. It blew me away.
The first time I listened to Sing the Sorrow, I was driving back home with my family from Montreal. I was reading the lyrics as I listened, and I just remember feeling this overwhelming sense of comfort. I was at a really rough time in my life, and I was close to tears during Silver and Cold.
The first time I saw Silver and Cold on TV, I did in fact cry. I'm not even entirely sure why. Its not that they died, it was only a video, but there was such strong emotions portrayed in that video. I then spent the nest half hour yelling at my brother to get off the computer so I could go watch it online.

TLSp.II was my first but that was about a year or two ago on MuchMusic and I didn't have a clue who I was listening to(silly me blaugh ). but all I know it that I loved the song and I definetly rememberd a guy with long black hair, wearing a tux and looking incredibly hot! 3nodding blaugh lol well I'm most definatly a fan now b/c I have all thier albums except Answer That and Stay Fashionable which I plan on getting ASAP! Silver and Cold was the song that got me interested because I actually payed attention to whe the artist was. I saw it on a new episode of Oven Fresh on Fuse.

I heard "Girl's Not Grey" on the radio a month or so before most people did, because the station I listen to plays stuff early. It immediately caught my attention, and I cranked up the volume and immersed myself in the song. I had heard of AFI a while back, but had never checked out any of their music until then. I was all hyped up to get "Sing the Sorrow", but it wasn't out yet, so I downloaded the "All Hallows EP" online to pass the time, then got "Sing the Sorrow" the day that it came out. I've been hopelessly obsessed ever since.

Hah. Seems like Girl's Not Grey was a major window for lots of people to the world of AFI. blaugh Like for me. xd I had seen it on television and then really payed minimal attention to it, and it only stuck in my mind because it was a guy with make-up that looked really feminine. So then I was playing one of the Tony Hawk games (forget which one) and again I see AFI as one of the songs on the playlist (probably Days of the Phoenix). So then I just started getting into them more and eventually bought their CD around the time that they released The Leaving Song Pt. II as a single. And since then I've loved them with such a passion above any other band that I have taken a liking to. 3nodding

The first time i had ever heard about AFI was 3 years ago when I was in grade 9. This kid beside me was obsessed with AFI that's all he talked about. SO I decided to download it to see what all the fuss was about. I downloaded Days of The Phoenix and Ever and a Day and burned them on a cd. I remember liking it but not liking liking it.
Then a year later in grade 10 my religion teacher played "God Called In Sick Today" saying it was her favourite song. At that time screaming in a song scared me a bit.
Then the next semester I was doing research for a project and had to find some songs and stumbled upon totalimmortal.
Then shortly after I saw the video for girls not grey and fell in love with it, and then I bought STS.

A boy in my English class, whom I hate, played This Celluloid Dream. We had the lyrics for it, love them, and the sound was just great. It really brightened up the class. I now own all the full-length cds and the All Hallows EP. I still hate that boy, but do have a certain respect for his taste in music.

I was visiting my friend and she was watching rock countdown, asking me if certain guys were "cute" (in her terms) and Girls not grey came on... I lied to her about all the guys she asked, I said no to all of them, then I went home and downloaded all their old stuff.... and then I heard sing the sorrow a little while after ward. Okay that's it, nothing special.

I'd heard of AFI before, but never heard them. Then one day I switched to Much Music, and GNG was playing. I was like, "Woah." And then downloaded. Then I heard TLSPII and GCIST. My friend had STS, and I asked her if it was good, and she said yes so I decided to get it.
And now they are my #1 favorite band. Tada.

Couple of summers ago my online friends kept bothering me to listen to AFI. Then I found my sisters' Sing The Sorrow cd on top of the computer, popped it in, and bam.
After that my friend sent me a couple of Black Sails songs, then I just ended up buying all of their cds domokun
