Enchanted delights

User Image

A heavy mist hung low upon the wood, dew clinging to the leaves that hovered ahead, suppressing the sun from descending upon the ground floor, birds sung; weaving story’s, animals scuttled back and forth. A set of red eyes peered out from the depths, watching with eagerness.
Welcome to a land of supernatural proportions, where all races entwine together as one, but beware, for it is not all innocence and virtue, for among the tree’s there hides a clan, who deals deadly blows to those who venture to deep within.

Decide for yourself, stay among the village where all is joyous and fun, communication runs deep into the fabrication, or delve deep within the forest and face a race that will strike fear into anyone’s heart.

He didnt trust forests, they were too close to nature, wrapped too tightly around him, clutching, grasping. He could smell the damp earth, hear the songs of both birds and ground dwellers, that chirped from too far under the soil. He knew he was surrounded with life, but couldnt pin it down, and that unnerved him a little more than he would like.
Nature couldnt be trusted. It was too unpredictable- it twisted you to its own will, and the worlds biggest disasters were natural.

However, his prey had come through here, he knew, he could smell the last trails of scent on the air and clinging to the quaking leaves that shook in the breeze.

Veritas sat on the edge of a roof, ignoring the man yelling at him to get down. he had long been pondering wheather to go into the forest or stay in the village. he found himself always pulled back to it though. Veritas smiled as he dropped from the roof and looked at the man "yeah yeah, i'll go" he waved as he turned "see ya same time tommorrow! and this time have my paycheck alright!?" he looked away from the forest and walked down the street. he wouldn't go in..yet

He wished he could hear what the wind was saying, he had met a woman once, in Romania who could- told him which way to go, who he was following and why- she had known everything, not physcic only able to read the wind- after all that air knew everything- carried the scents and voices and sorrows of everyone.

He glanced up into the trees where the leaves shook in hues that seemed only half coloured here, he had hardly gotten into the thicket and the canopy was heavy. At least he would be safe from the day should he befall any mischief here.

there was a moment where Veritas thought he would not make it. he quickened his pace and arrived in a shadowed alley just as the spell wore off. taking out a small knife he recarved a small symbol into his wrist and let it take affect. walking back out as he covered his eyes "thanks old man..." he felt like he wanted to see his master again and sighed "I guess I should see him, not like he gets any other company" Veritas turned and headed toward the towns grave yard

Kiurs growled, he was uterlly lost- all light had now dissapeared and though he could see well in darkness, his trail was gone, every tree looked the same and the scent he had been tracking had been lost under earth and decaying undergrowth and the hundred pounding hearts of every woodland creature that was stupid enough to grace the inner walls of this effective labyrinth.

Veritas walked through the graveyard at a slow pace. his eyes traveling from grae to grae. as he reached the ed of the graves he sighed "great forgot about this" he put his hand on his hips and looked up at the forest. letting his arms flop loosely back to his sides he walked into the forest "this better be a good visit..."

it was at that point that he stopped compleately, his feet and body stilling as it would were he scenting the air or scanning the horizen, though he could do neither here and it irritated him beyound reason.
His hand, encased in fine itailan leather as black as midnight reached up to smooth back a tendril of raven hair from his face- the mass of elbow length curls seemed to have been caught on every branch he had passed. Yes he was vein, and no, he and forests did not, for the last time, mix.
He had already decided to leave, hoping he could make it back to the tavern before nightfall, his prey had been far lost, and whilst it wrought his heart to think of loosing more ground, there was nothing to be done. Once again he had been outwitted- this time by Gods nature as much as that devils trail.

*Aly walked through the forest, looking behind her every few steps. She cursed herself for even thinking about going for a walk to clear her mind, it obviously wasn't helping her. She tried to calm herself down desperately in hopes to allow her mind to conjure up a plan and started panicking even more when it wouldn't work. Panic slowly spread through her body when she realized that she was lost. There was no way to retrace her steps and if someone could hear her screaming, would they be a friend or enemy? She had heard many stories from her parents when she was younger about girls who got lost and were never found again and she didn't want to be one of them. She turned around quickly and forced herself to try and remember the way she came, if she could do that, then maybe she could find a way out of this mess. She started to run and soon she found herself in mid-air, her hands reaching out for something to grab. She landed on the ground with a thud and pain raced through her leg. It occurred to her that she must have tripped on something while running and caused her to hurt her ankle. She was now defenseless and could no longer run properly if she met danger, panic now completely took over her and she began to scream, in hopes that someone would hear her*

*A girl around the age of 17 was laying on a high tree branch, an open book lay across her stomach and a pencil was daggling from her fingers. Her cat ears twitched at a sound that floated through the wind, she sat up lazily and looked around, it sounded to her like some sort of scream. Fearing that someone was in trouble she picked up her book and placed it in a small pouch on her side, along with her pencil, and then stood up. In one sift movement she jumped from the branch and landed on the ground without making a sound and started to run in the direction the screams were coming from. She slowed down to a walk when she saw a person in the distance on the ground, even thou the person seemed to he harmless from were she stood, she still had to be careful.*

*Spirit studied this girl, it was clear that she was hurt and that she most likely could not do anything to hurt her and she relaxed. She took a step towards the girl, her tail flicking from side to side behind her and her golden eyes shinning in the light that escaped through the tree leaves. “Who am I? Um… that is a good question,” she said with a smile on her face, “my name is Spirit and may I ask your name? It is quite clear that you are hurt…” she saw the fear in the girl’s eyes and her shaking hands, “I’m not going to hurt you.” she opened her hands to show that she held no weapon, “can I help you in some way?” she asked, kneeling down beside her.*

*Aly looked down at her hands. She hadn't known that she was shaking until Spirit mentioned it. Now that she could pay more attention to herself, she noticed that her whole body was shaking with fear. This girl appeared friendly on the surface, but was she plotting some way to destroy Aly in her mind. Her body started to shake more with fear and her palms became sweaty. Don't listen to her! She could be dangerous! Her concience screamed in her mind. She ignored it. There was no way she could get away if this Spirit girl was evil. She was trapped here in the forest with a stranger that could hurt her. She wished that the part of her that hadn't give hope was her common sense. She could care less now what happened to her now. If she allowed this mysterious-obviously a demon- girl to help her, two things could happen: She could be killed or this girl would really help her. She sighed at the circumstances and closed her eyes. She said her goodbyes to family and friends that cared for her when she was hurt and desperately wished she had listened to her grandmother when she said to stay out of the forest and opened her eyes slowly, tears spilling over the surface. She bent her head down to try and cover them, but it was no use, she was starting to hyperventalate. She took deep breaths to try and calm herself and after a few minutes, she was able to calm herself down. Looking up at Spirit, her eyes dull, she nodded* "I would love some help," Aly replied warily," I'm Aly."

*Spirit stared at Aly wondering why in the world she was crying, was she really that hurt? She waited till Aly had started to calm down before she moved, and when she did move, she moved slowly, she still knew that Aly did not trust her and who wouldn’t? She was a demon after all. She reached into her pouch and pulled out a small container and handed it to Aly, “Here, this helps swelling and it will get rid some of the pain…not all of it of course, but it helps.” She put the container on the ground by Aly, “You don’t have to use it if you don’t trust me, it’s up to you.” She leaned her head against a tree and waited to see what Aly would do*

*Aly looked at Spirit suspiciously. She eyed her cautiously as she moved closer to her, but did not spook. She didn't want Spirit thinking that she was frightened by her presence, but she knew she had very little hope in thinking that Spirit did not notice her crying and shaking. Sighing, she watched as the demon girl placed the ointment on the ground in front of her. Many battles were racing in her head, but her face remained blank. She was trying to figure out whether to trust Spirit or not, was she really trying to be sincere? The bottle appeared to be harmless enough but, it could be a trap. Aly winced in pain and broke her blank expression when a new wave of pain scurried up her leg and down. The pain was unbearable and if Spirit said that this bottle would help with the pain, then she needed to believe her. She was willing to put her hands into a demon if it meant stopping the pain that invaded her body. Snatching the bottle from the ground, Aly used it to stop the bruising and eventually, it subsided some of the pain. She sighed with relief when she was able to touch her ankle and examine it without as much pain as she suffered before. Her suspicions were correct about her ankle, it was broken. There was no way she would be able to get home any time soon, much less walk. She looked at Spirit and found herself surprised to see that she was actually trusting the demon girl a little. She knew that it was very thin and one simple word or action could break that trust that was there, but for now, she might have someone who would be able to help her.* "Thank you," Aly replied softly," Can I ask you one question though? How... Did you know where to find me?"
