I am sick and tired of inactive members. Knowing that this will make me sound like a 'holier-than-thou' person, I must speak my mind. Almost everyday we receive join-requests, but in 99 percent of the cases, the people show that they haven't read the rules.
To me, this is a very sad thing, because I want this guild to be a place where we share our love and adoration for Gaara, and not to squee over how hot/cool/sexy/god-looking/etc. he is, because that's why we're here arent we?
Now the reason why I am making this thread is, I want your opinion on what I am going to do. I am planning to take over the guild, from Matuska since she's so busy and I have no life and while I'm at it, I want to make a few changes:
No more old/dead threads people who break the rules three times, will be thrown out people who have posted less than 10 times will be thrown out
The last two points are especiall important to me I dislike it, when there are lots and lots of people in a guild, but they don't do ANYTHING it makes me wonder why they applied in the first place
How I intend to go about it: I will set a date, say every monday, I'll check the list of members and who hasn't posted 10 times, is out.
FEEDBACK PLEASE!

So are you saying that every Monday you will check to see if every member has posted at least 10 times in the last week?

[Love Shine] So are you saying that every Monday you will check to see if every member has posted at least 10 times in the last week? Basically, yes. I can take a look at the memberslist, and see how many posts a person has, and by taking a glance at it, I see sometimes three pages of people with only one or less posts. Oh, this doesn't mean that I will check if every single person posted ten more posts, what I meant was that I ban the people who don't have ten posts at the end of the week.
If the majority of the people here disagree with the method, I won't do it. Or I could lower the number of posts.
But I really need feedback here, because at the moment, I'm the only active mod of three in a guild with over 70 pages of members.
Of course I am open to suggestiosn. :3

I think that it is a good way of getting rid of unactive members. Members deserve a heads-up before getting banned, but PMing everyone could take a while with 70 pages of members.
Making the limit to 5 posts might help, unless you find that it still leaves a lot of members who are unactive.

What about people who truely really do adore Gaara but arn't allowed to use the computer often or can't use the computer for a differnt reason and so can't post even if they would like to?

Elen_Roy has A good point!, What if that is the case!.. I dont disagree on what your saying because it sounds like a great idea to me... But if people arent able to use the computer for a long amount of time or they werent allowed or there was no way they could get online on the week... then they shouldnt be thrown out.. =[ its not there fault. Maybe you should get the to post certain things like that.. or lower the post rate like [Love Shine] said. =]

You could create a thread where people who don't have access to the internet on a regular basis can post saying that they won't be able to reache the required post number. This way you can keep tack of members who wish to participate, but don't always have the chance.

I try to stay as active as I can, but it's kind of hard when the only time you can go on outside of school is on Friday's. crying

Being that there was no real thread for this I haven't been able to say anything. I'm moving out of the country right now and I have no internet access or cp. I'm using a library cp and I hate going on library cps. I'm sorry, but I won't be posting for a long period of time until August or even later depending on the country I'm moving to. Until then please don't kick me out. I apologize, but I don't want to be kicked out.

I like the idea but maybe 10 posts is a bit too much. How about 5. That way there is enough time for someone to post atleast 5 times that week. smile

It's a good idea, but I hope you keep in mind that some people get really busy in their daily lives. School takes up a lot of my time and I don't always have the chance to be posting to that extent. Like others have suggested, I think it would be a good idea to create a thread for members to state if they will be away for a certain period of time.

Thanks for the feedback guys, and I agree that there will be a thread (best is a sticky) where the members that cannot post as much state so. 3nodding
So, about the number? Five posts seems to be the most favoured number, and should be easily reached. One goes away by the introduction, the remaining four shouldn't be too difficult.... So five it is. 3nodding
Any other aspects that need discussing?

Well, people who [like me.... sweatdrop ] forget that they are even in a guild probably would need a little reminder. I'm not saying that anyone should take responsibility for notifying them every week, but if they've been an active contributor before, and just suddenly stopped going to the forum, but are still on gaia should be reminded before being kicked out... Maybe once every couple months or something??
Just a thought.. lol

This should prebably be mentioned on the guild home, so potential members will be aware of this policy.
