Laying upon the roof of the ol' abandoned den of the Jamaa family, the cub stared off into space of what happened not too long ago... maybe a moon or was it two? His father, the gentle, kind, loving father that he grew to know and love suddenly flipped that day... the day that he had put himself into danger. The glare that he gave was soul-wretching and tremble-able. That snarl, it was loud enough to vibrate to Pride Rock and back into that very tunnel. His voice was harsher and much more threatening... The image of his father was shattered to him. The pieces... were lost-no, he was lost. Was his father really the father he become to know? What had happened?

"Don't you dare touch my son!"
"Harm him and I shall rend you asunder!"
"Don't touch him!"

Even after the yelling and the roaring his father gave, the rest of the day seemed a bit... nebulous... all he could remember was his father's arguement and the introduction that other pup... Ophos. What was going on?

Zeki gave a sigh with absolute no emotion in it as he continued to stare off. He was truely lost.

On most days, Sen would be following behind some stranger she'd seen (and in the Pridelands there were many), mimicing what they said, either making them laugh or annoying the hell out of them. On most days, Sen would be having fun reguardless of if her playmate or victum (it depended on how they took her 'game') was.

Today was not most days. Today, Sen was grumpy. The discovery that her oldest and most adored brother (who she may have liked even more than her parents, truth be told), was looking after some royal brats did not settle well with her. She stood by what she had said, that they didn't deserve the attention of someone so great just because of a bloodline.

Huffing and puffing, the cub trotted along. A few days ago, she'd found an abandoned den, and taken to it. The inside was nice, but the roof was the best, since she wasn't too fond of being closed in. (Plus, she was minorly afraid it'd collaspe on her).

Tiny claws extended, she made her way to the top. Wait, what the...?

"Ack!" the cub squealed, toppling back down to the ground.

Obviously, she hadn't expected someone else to be there.

Zeki was snapped from his daze as his head jerked around to catch the glimpse of a female. Her fur was white... or was it grey? It was hard to catch in a single glimpse. Raising to his feet, he moved over to the hole that appeared above the, as the wild dog, Jamaa, called it, " Owner's Quarters ". Looking down, the sun was angled just right to hit along the far wall, the wall that had the prints of all the rightful owners of den. It was a place of refuge but this chamber here was the one that was exclusively for the owner of the den. The place had been abandoned, it sounded like the new owner, the one that Jamaa had passed it down upon was gone for the time so it was just another refuge.

Looking around, he noticed the little girl. She had white greyish fur so he wasn't too far off.

"Hey, what are you doing here? This isn't your den, only four lions have ever owned this den and it had already been passed down to a hyena. Sorry to be mean but, you shouldn't be here unless you are seeking shelter, miss."

His voice was soft and caring but he tried his best to make it sound serious, at least the best he could. He paused for a moment and looked around. No one seemed to be with her...

"Do you need a hand, miss? If you lay on the ground for too long your fur will get messy and you won't be as pretty as you are now," Zeki smiled and lowered a paw as an offering. "Come on up, name's Zeki."

Sen had a nice collection of faces for the other cub. Starting from surprised, to annoyed, to very annoyed, to confused. She didn't like being told where she could and couldn't go. Who did this cub think he was, one of the Princes?

Wait, was he one of them? Because if he was, she wanted to have a few words about being forced to 'share' her brother with him.

Mostly, she was annoyed with his 'miss' title. That was for old lions, and of all things, she was certainly not old. "Sen," the cub informed him curtly, then blinked in surprise. "Pretty?"

Come on up? Hadn't he just told her to leave? Boys, honestly. Only her brother was a cool one.

That didn't stop her from clambering up beside him, without his help, thankyouvery much.

"I found this place a few days ago and nobody was here," she went on. Observantly, the cubs eyes bounced from place to place. Aside from them, it still seemed that way. "I don't see any hyenas..."

"Well, it's nice to meet you. And yes, you are very pretty."

He smiled again, this time closing his eyes, it was a reflex now but it gave a rather cute and sincere impact to it. He purred softly as he looked around just as she had.

"Well, that is because the very owner is in the Elephant Graveyard with his own family now, I suppose. This place is just for them to meet from what I've been told. You know, someone like you shouldn't be wandering around, you could get hurt, or stepped on, or even get lost."

He sat down and looked over at her. My, she had beautiful eyes...

"Well, this place belongs to someone and it's sort of rude to come in like that, at least into the "Owner's Quarters" even if they are home or not," he paused. "Are you from the Pride Lands? I think I've seen you before... do you have any brothers or sisters? .... Oh my... I'm being rather rude, asking you all these personal questions. Don't feel obligated to answer them then."

Sen stared at him blankly for a time before her face scrunched up. "You're weird," she pointed out, as if it was something everyone in the world but him was aware of. Then she went on to answer his question, despite his rambling. "I have a bunch. Umm... Yue, Ai... Umm. Chao, and No, but I haven't met her... and... ummm... Yeah, a bunch of other ones, too."

Her light eyes gazed over the land from the poor view they had. What was so great about this place somebody would even want it? It was better over by Priderock, where she lived. The sky was even prettier...

"Hey, do you see that?" she questioned suddenly. It was black, white, some weird yellow color... What a weird bird... No, not a bird. What was it? Sen watched, eyes wide, as the Goddess landed in front of them.

History repeats itself, as they say, even history that occured moments ago. Sen squeaked and toppled over.

"Well, you're lucky then because I don't have any brothers or sisters. I only got my Dad, my Mom, my friends, and my uncles, so I don't know how it is to-"

Zeki watched the female topple over as he dove over to try his best to catch her or at least break her fall. However, that wasn't the case as he fell short just a foot away. He needed more work on that it would seem. He picked up his head to see the other being before him. She was amazingly beautiful... that fur looked so neat, well-kept, he could not help but smile.

"Hi! Name's Zeki, of the Pride Lander's Pride. Son of Ger and Trina, who may you be, m'lady?"

He spoke softly in the most respectable voice he could. Just as the knowledge of Sen's presence was slipping from his mind, he quickly ran over to her and frantically offered his help and concern.

"Oh jeez! Are you alright? Are you hurt? You didn't break anything did you? How's your fur? Darn, I should have jumped earlier and harder, maybe I could have gotten to you..."

Mwokoti peered at the cub quietly and observantly. What a strange one. Not the reaction she usually got, even from those who had seen higher beings before. She watched as he scrambled to Sen.

Who, really, didn't seem that interested in her own well-being. "I'm okay," she quickly told him, nudging him away and hurrying back up to where she had been. There was no way... But there was. And she had. This lioness had flown down to them! "Wow!"

Mwokoti smiled, despite her sad eyes. "Hello, little ones." Focusing more on Zeki than Sen she answered in a less official tone, "My name is Mwokoti. I am Goddess of the Lost."

Zeki's attention was now on Mwokoti, the Goddess of the Lost. A Goddess, that would surely explain her entrance but what estounded him more was that she came here of all places. Was it because of Sen? It was rather strange how she reacted to when she came. Zeki looked at Sen and then back to Mwokoti.

"Good... at least you are alright, Sen."

His attention seemed rather drawn to the Goddess, his lost thoughts of before were gone for the time.

"What brings a Goddess such as you here? Was it because of Miss Sen?" he asked softly. "Or was it just a place to rest yourself for a moment, M'lady?"
PostPosted: Mon May 07, 2007 7:08 pm

"Because of me?" Sen squeaked at the mere thought! "Are you here to give me wings, too?!" she asked excitedly. Finally! FINALLY! She was going to be able to fly! The only thing she'd ever wanted! (Aside from Yue being an ugly, puke green color so everyone would stop making such a big deal over how gold he was.)

But just as her hopes had built higher and higher, it began to come crashing down with a simple, "No." Mwokoti shook her head. "I was stopping, mostly," she admitted. "However, you seem distressed. I'm more... of the realm of physical lost beings, but occasionally I can pick up emotionally lost ones, too."

It was just she could rarely do anything about those.

“Again, m’lady, do you speak to me or do you speak to Miss Sen?”

Lost? The Goddess of the Lost does not only deal with the physical but anything that would be lost… but what did he lose? Thinking back now he remembered the deep thoughts he had earlier, the ones he had earlier before Miss Sen’s intrusion. He sighed and shook his head. He had lost the mental image of his father… was that the feeling that she meant? Could she help him regain the image of the father he grew up knowing and loving?

“M’lady Mwokoti, I must assume you are speaking to me as I have lost something… or at least, I feel like I have lost something. Would you be able to guide me to find out where it is?”

Zeki looked away for a moment.

“I want to find him again… I want to know what happened to my father. He’s changed so much that… I don’t even think it’s him anymore. Help me find the pieces of my father’s image, M’lady Mwokoti.”

Assuming he'd catch on, Mwokoti stayed quiet. Sen did the same. And, in a matter of seconds, Zeki had grasped which of them she was talking too, and why she was talking to them.

The Goddess frowned deeply. Just because she held no attachment to mortals didn't mean she couldn't feel sorry for them, and she often did. Poor cub. No one deserved this sort of life, not so young and innocent...

"I can try, but often these things are beyond my abilities." And far beyond her powers. "Can you take me to your father? I will attempt to speak with him on your behalf."

Mortals weren't as quick to bad-mouth cubs as they're own kids.

Sen was watching, tilting her head. "Your dad? Ooh. That's sad. My dad is really cool."

Probably not helping, but she didn't realize that.

"My father is resting, that was why I was able to get out on my own this time."

He spoke, putting a wedge in Mwokoti's plan to speak with his father. Frankly, he did not want to disrupt him and that this whole ideaology was all in his head. Maybe it was he who had lost it but his father was still the same. It was just so confusing... he wished Uncle Trig was around to help counsel him out of this all. With a sigh, he looked back up at her.

"It only happened a few days ago, maybe yesterday. It was around this den too..." Zeki took a breath and began to tell a rather lengthy story.

"My father and I had always went running in the early mornings, but that day he decided to take me somewhere. This is only because I wanted to. So we rested here before going on and I was just too excited of what it was that we were going to. So I wandered off a bit to a rock mound leaning upon an old gnarled tree. I saw no harm in it and stood upon it to look around. The area's not as precious and glamorous as the area around Pride Rock, but this place has its own value. But when I was going back to my father, the rocks gave way and I fell into a tunnel. Then I met some hyenas because it was attached to the tunnel. Then I got scared as one of the bigger ones chased me and I got stuck. Then my Dad came and that was when things changed. He was mean, he was fighting others, he said he would kill him if they touched me. But what was scary was that.... that look he had, it was nothing like I've seen before. That could not have been my Dad, it wasn't... right?"

Mwokoti listened intently, and did a good job of not looking surprised. Was that all? She would never speak in a way that risked making someone feel foolish. Besides that, this was just a cub...

Sen didn't follow the same creed as the Goddess, and the fur above her eyes went up, her nose twisted. "That's stupid," she stated, like it was so obvious. What? It WAS so obvious. "Your dad was just scared they were going to hurt you! Of course he got mad! Would you have rather he let them eat you all up instead? Psssh!"

The Goddess in front of them smiled gently at Sen, then Zeki. "I can not claim to fully understand the situation," she admitted. "But, from the story you tell, it seems your father was just very frightened of losing you. And in such a violent way... It's this violence that is troubling you?"

Zeki hesitantly nodded as if he was not sure if that was a way of putting such a thing. All his life he had known his father, he had never been apart from his father for more than a couple of hours and that was usually when he was with someone his father trusted such as his uncles or a close friend. He hardly allowed anyone around the den that he did not personally know. Zeki had just seen it as him being a strong, protective father. But... never in his life had he seen his father act like that.

"...Never..." he murmured. "Even if threatened by his brother, Uncle Kinari, to be killed or be beaten by Uncle Moto... he would just smile and nod his head... no matter who it was, threatened or hurt, he would never retaliate in any way but some verbal words of choice and leaves it as that. But back there, he was entirely different.... I know he was being protect, and the violence was unnecessary but... my father, my father, would have never done something like that. I've known him for a very long time, I've always been with him, I have never seen or even heard of him acting or even behaving like that."

With another sigh, he dropped his head. That was what was really confusing and lost to him.
