For once, Silver wasn't flying. He usually spent all of his free time in the sky, feeling the wind against his face. It was the most free he could ever feel in his life, for certain. Any wind soquili knew that well and felt blessed to have their wings. Today, however, he was a bit on the tired side, and had opted to lay in the shade of a large pine. Even though it wasn't in the clouds, it was still relaxing, and even peaceful. The only care he had on his mind was that of his Indian companian, Salali. the young girl had recently decided that Silv needed more time on his own, and had let him wander away for longer and longer periods of time. Leaving her all by herself had bugged him at first; she was a bit on the young side, after all. In the past month, however, he had slowly been getting used to it. The girl hadn't gotten into any situation she couldn't handle yet, and he still went back every few ays to check on her and help her out with a couple of errands while he was around.
Now that he had all this free time, however, he wasn't sure what to do with it. In the past, he ad only needed Salali as a friend and companion, and only mingled with other Soquili on his days off. It wasn't that he wasn't a social stallion; he was for the most part. he was a gentlemen, sure, but once you got to know him, he shed the manners a little for a more playful side. The problem was that he never kept in touch with the few he had run into while helping his Indian. So there he sat, wistfully watching the skies, trying to come up with soemthing to do.

Orah was humming to herself as she trotted along. Today she'd wandered a bit farther afeild than she normally did, but she was on a mission. The mare figured she spent too much time within easy distance of the teepee, and there was so much world out there... She knew from experience just how big it was. So why, now that they had come here to rest, did she confine herself to such a small area?
In truth, it was because she was shy. It was an easy thing to admit to herself, but harder to actually say outloud... that she was afraid to wander too far away from the comfort of her girl's prescence. There were so many horses here.... she could hardly go ten feet from her teepee without bumping into one. And the farther she went, the more she bumped into to. It was hard for the poor little mare to keep up with it.
Ah, but today... today she was looking for berries, something that had become rather scarce around her teepee these days. A human can only live for so long in one place before they used up the natural resources there. It was time to give the bushes in the clearing a break, and find other places to get the food Blue needed. So, ever faithful and helpful, Orah was out to find more berries. Strawberries, raspberries, gooseberries... it didn't matter. Blue seemed to like all kinds, and in truth, Orah had a taste for anything sweet.
Her tail swished behind her as she trotted, the song she sang to herself random and happy.

With his keen eyes watching the wispy clouds, the stallion hardly noticed the mare nearby. His mind was far away in the sky, soaring where his wings wouldn't bring him, His gaze only dropped when he realized that he had to be getting back to Salali shortly to check on her and make sure she was doing alright. His thoughts changed slightly, however, when those eagle eyes landed on the form of the drop dead gorgeous bay mare. He didn't notice her faint stripes at first, but they came in as his vision focused on her. Why hadn't he seen her around before? Ah, that was why. Her lack of wings meant she wouldn't have been in the sky, where he had spent all of his free time as of late. It was a shame he hadn't come across her before. From the looks of it, she was a relatively happy being. Her soft voice floated to his ears. This was too good to pass up.
After starting to trot lightly in her direction, Silver thought better of just intruding on her peaceful walk and came to a stand still. He nickered out to her softly, trying to get her attention without being too obnoxious about it. He was a playful male, sure, but he was a gentlemen first and foremost. If anyhing, he was going to keep his manners. Hopefully, she wouldn't mind a little company on her walk. Salali could wait a little extra while. The Indian would probablly even enjoy hearing that Silver had been walking with a mare for once. She had been beginning to think he wasn't fond of the opposite gender.

Orah sang happily to herself, the sound of her own voice all but covering the soft whicker that came from... seemingly nowhere. The striped mare stopped in her tracks and tossed up her head, silent as her pointed ears swivelled back and forth. Had she heard something, or was it just her imagination? Suddenly nervous, the mare shifted on her hooves, shuffling them in the grass as she darted her gaze around the area.
Oh, dear... what if it was a wolf, or a couger, or a bear, or some other creature with a taste for horse meet? Her ears pressed back to her head as she began to dance in a small circle, shying at shadows as her tail flicked behind her.
"Hello? Is someone out there?" She called, obviously nervous and aggitated, spooked by her own imagination. It conjured up all sorts of wild things, making the shadows under the trees loom frighteningly.

The last thing Silver had wanted to do was spook the poor thing. He walked more towards her and cleared his throat a little to try to draw her attention before things got too creepy and she fled. He put on as warm of an expression as he could and lowered his head slightly, as to seem less threatening. Body language was the key to everything, and the nicer and smaller he seemed, the better this situation would work out. Or at least, that was his hope. He came to a stop a bit closer to her this time, not wanting to invade her space, but close enough that she could get a good look at him.
"Good day, miss." He nodded politely. After a thought, he folded his wings tighter against his back. The smaller he looked, the better. "I'm sorry to have frightened you..." He trailed off a little, hoping she'd calm down soon. He had his manners, of course, but with equines, one stressed creature leads to another one. The longer he was around high-strung nerves, the closer he would get to the jitters.

Orah gasped as a stallion emerged from the darkness, starling as her ears pressed back. Relief flooded her as she scooted over to stand closer to him, a little blush heating her face as she realized how silly she was being. Still, it felt better to be near another horse, especially what seemed to be a big, strong stallion.
She cast a glance around at the shadow again before turning her attention to the stranger, pointed ears perking forward as she saw what appeared to be wings. Oh! A wind soquili, how neat. She hadn't met many of those, hardly any really, and their wings fascinated her.
"H-hello." She greeted, ducking her head in embarrassment. "No, its okay... the darkness just makes me nervous, so I was just a little startled when I heard something. A little mare all alone out in this place... there could be wolves or bears or any sort of canivores out there." A sigh slipped free as she shook her head and neck to help ease her tension, muscles relaxing under her stripped hide.
