i always thought you used your actual palm,but i've seen people use the side of their hand. so which is better

I use the side of my hand, but that's just how I do it naturally.

I don't understand... You use your entire palm? I don't see how you can do it AND pick the strings. Well if you can do it that way I never have. I use the side of my hand to do it.

Yeah I think it's just natural the way you pick the strings to use the side of your hand.

ive never seen anyone not use the side of there hand for palm muting

Judging from everyone's reactions I think it's pretty obvious you just took the phrase "palm muting" a little to seriously. You use the side of your hand, not your entire palm!

I use half my Palm for Palm Muting, still it would be stupid to use your full Palm.

I use the area between my wrist and palm and lightly touch the very end of the strings

well i just use my wrist too seems easir for me i guess it depends in how comfortable to you
