Rainbow Boys was awesome!!! I'd reccommend that book to everyone here. It's something I can see happening in real life, and that helps to make it appealing to me. It's also a pretty easy read, so go for it, and you'll definately love it! There is one I'm dying to get my hands on, it's called "[NAME ((can't remember it))] Has Two Mommies" I think the name is Ellen, or Hellen, or something like that. ^_^

Fried Green Tomatoes
The book suggests more than the movie actually does, but it's obvious...

ok I haven't read any of the books mentioned but out of the movies you have mentioned I have seen these:
Boys Don't Cry But I'm a Cheerleader The Truth About Jane
Boys Don't Cry was of course based on a true story. It was sad but a good movie.
But I'm a Cheerleader was a saitre. It was funny and sweet all at the same time.
The Truth About Jane. I love Stockard Channing (played Jane's mother) she is awesome and I have seen her in a few gay movies. This movie also deals with issues a lot of youths have to deal with.
I have seen a lot more movies than these too.

I have read and seen a few of the mentioned, but my memory is so bad. xp
Keeping You a Secret: Peters, Julie Anne
I bought this book after reading 'Define Normal' also By her.Though the book is now safe in my bookcase,I've read it several times and give it 9.5/10 (Too nice?) I really loved that book,it got so intense sometimes I felt like crying, but I wouldn't put down the book.Lots of my friends have now read it because I practically threw it at them. All rave reviews from them too.

Here's a good book
Am I Blue? I love this more than you could imagine. It's cute collection of short stories, the title story being one about a young boy, unsure of his sexual orientation and he meets his fairy godfather. 3nodding That and the second one which is drawing a parallel to the holocaust are the best in the book!

Also I dunno if this counts because there is much intense hetero sex in this book... but one of the values of the cult in the book is sex between women. So if anyone here is in for a really random read try I Love Lord Buddha... very effed up but good

I would like too add a few movies I believe have to do with some of these issues. The Wedding Banquet The Birdcage To Wong Foo, thanks for everything Julie Numar Party Monster Hedwig and the Angry Inch.... there are more I just cant think of off the top of my head
As far as books go I haven't read that many abou those sort of Issues. I would like to say that Sarah, and The Heart is Decietful Above all Things, are great books addressing some big issues. Sarah is more about the transgender stuff then The Heart is Decietful, but they are both wonderful books. They are both by JT Leroy
