The End of the Beginning

Oasis stood at the edge of a cliff, looking down onto the field, which was strew with carnage. "All of this, just for one man's desire." Oasis muttered bitterly, and fingered his sword. Almost as though he was suspecting an attack, Oasis dropped down suddenly as a dagger flew where Oasis' head was not a moment ago. "So, alert as ever, eh Oasis?" A man asked, leering to Oasis as he stood once more. "Hello Ferdinand." Oasis said grimly, and Ferdinand hissed. "You could at least call me by the name I want. That might convince me to let you live." Ferdinand said, slightly annoyed. Oasis laughed coldly. "Sorry, Shadow, but I prefer to call people by their real names, not the names they have given themselves. Especially not when you name yourself after something that fades with the sun. Did you just choose that name to sound like your siblings, Dark and Darkness. Your family does have odd choices in names, though their's are weirder, due to the fact that those are their actual names." Oasis said, and Shadow laughed. "Insulting someone when you are at their mercy is a very stupid thing to do. I would say you would learn that when you get older, but you won't, since I will end your life right now." Shadow said, narrowing his eyes and drawing his sword. Oasis merely shrugged. "Its funny how the older one is much stupider sometimes. You would think that, having over three hundred years over me, you would have realized that I do no fall easily." Oasis said, and took a step back, and fell off the edge of the cliff. Oasis heard Shadow curse loudly as he raced to the edge and flung a dagger down towards Oasis' falling body, which he easily caught. Oasis closed his eyes, and braced for the impact of the ground, hoping it would be soft."

"Wake the ******** up! Your in my spot!" Ren said loudly, giving Oasis a good kick in the side. Oasis jerked awake in time to see the floor rushing up to meet him, and he landed with a thud on the cold stone floor. "What was that for?" Oasis asked angrily, climbing to his feet. "For being a dumbass and falling asleep at the table, again! In my spot, I might add!" Ren said, rather irritated. Oasis grumbled lightly, sitting down in the spot beside where Ren now sat. "Who else is up?" Oasis asked, rubbing his head. "Only Amy-iten." Ren replied cheerfully, pointing to the door. Oasis looked up from the table, only to see a woman enter the room. A woman of such breath-taking beauty, the room seemed to become almost airless for the human servants scurrying about. Her long, blonde hair swayed behind her as she walked, and the points of her ears just barely stuck out from under it. She had a figure that most would call "An hourgalss figure," and a face that would tempt the devil himself. Her bright blue eyes seemed to suck the very soul from everyone in the room, and her delicate nose and lips made it seem as though she were a goddess among men. She crossed the room with such poise that she made Queens of old look like peasants, and held herself so wonderfully, it seemed as though she were merely floating, and unable to move from her perfect posture. "Hello Oasis." Amy said, giving Oasis a large smile as she sat down across from him. "Hello." Oasis replied, giving her a weary smile back. "Sleep well?" Amy asked, and not waiting for an answer, opened her mouth again. "Right, down to business." Amy explained, and Ren groaned, rubbing her hands on her face. "Quiet. Now then, Lord Puck wants to send us to the Western front. It seems our troops ran into some....difficulties crossing the forest boarders into the wastelands, heading for the Irken cities." Amy said, and Ren and Oasis sniggered. "I'm assuming these difficulties you speak of are twins, a very annoying boy with a large axe, his red haired sidekick, and a grumpy man with a staff?" Oasis asked, smirking. Amy laughed. "You got it. Darkness and Dark are having quite a bit of fun slaughtering our troops, and Ferdinand and Knuckles are up to their usual fun and games, assasinating three of our top generals already. And Tassador.....well, let's just say Utfar won't be out of bed for a while. Honestly, the fool tried to take Tassador on one on one." Amy stated, and Ren shook her head. "That moron. When will he learn. Anyway, I say let's get the ******** outta here! Lord Puck wants us there, and I have a score to settle with Dark, the b***h." Ren said, and gave a bloody grin to Oasis and Amy. Oasis nodded. "I agree, let us go at once. However, I do have one concern. While the three of us are no doubt powerful, how are we expected to take on all five of those. I'm well aware that you can charm Darkness or Ferdinand, but what if Tassador confronts you, or King Ferdinand comes up to the front? No offense, but you are rather weak compared to them, and cannot charm them as you do so many of their generals." Oasis asked, and Amy waved a hand airily. "Don't worry, we arn't the only ones going up, just the only Forsaken. Now come, let's get packing. I want the two of you at the stable house in less then half an hour. Move!" Amy said firmly, and without further ado, left the room. Oasis and Ren stood, both sighing. "Do we ever get a moments rest?" Ren complained, and Oasis shrugged, the two of them heading towards the door Amy went out of.
