Hullo.
I've been working hard on my language. For no reason, really. But this is a treat. Cherish it.
*shoves in face*
The following would be strokes and dots and such, which are put together to form a word.
ALPHABET:
AA AI AE KA SE RO ZI TE II IE IA IYO TI MI ME Li LE YE YI YA YU RA RE TA EH CHI JA JI DE DI DA SS SA SI SOH SE MA SU YA UU UI UA OH OE OA NE NA QU QI KU XO XE XA MO LA DA DI VI VE DE
60 of 'em, I think.
RANDOM WORDS AND PHRASES: Format is Ametrisan/Sirteman
Ãis/Sïa=me, I, myself
Taätê’ka/ =Hello, how d’you do? (can also mean “what’s the matter?” if stress changes.)
Äkäÿête= Move, come, hurry!
Iichizakási=Leave me alone, go away
Amira/Arima = release
Amirãis/ Sïarima = release me
Neskarên/Sëneraki=I am sorry.
Iiyana=peace Aňayii=peace (Ametrisan)
Aňasii=escape Iisaña=escape (Ametrisan)
Xomé=wisdom (can be a name) Êmos=wisdom (Ametrisan)
Käre=my good friend, my darling, my love Eraké=my life, my love
Saiahërdé=**** you (Sirteman only)
Sai=you Ias=you (Ametrisan)
Prayer for the dead:
Seeta enna noråi Roquiis Vité, quitar hasýa iiyana ví monyæ./ Atees annë Iąron siûqor Etiv, ratiuq aysah aňayii eaÿnom,
May you find eternal peace, and may the deities send you to Guiding Light.
Saiahërdé is my favorite. ^.^
Notes: Iiyana is the name of the river in Ametris, even though it's a Sirteman word, because of that whole language-invented-before-the-schism-thing. IF you don't know what I'm talking about...*spoilers*
Fooled you. There aren't any. >.<
More notes: Guiding Light is another name for Zildja, the North Star and also believed ti be/is heaven.
There are five other languages:
Ilanese Adranalese Lacausti Calstran Zili (Zildja language. It's like, what angels speak. O.o)
Go Kirby, much?

Grammar Lessons:
Ametrisan:
1) Anything like I, you, my, your, they, theirs, she/he/it, /her/his/its, goes in front of the verb or noun it is describing. Just latches right on. Of course, there will be exceptions, if it sounds iffy.
2) Above rule doesn't apply for some stuff...like "I'm sorry." Not important stuff like "am" and "is" and "was" is useless and doesn't even merit a word in the language. There's a couple of letters I have yet to discover that indicate past tense and such, but that isn't crucial either.
3) Ametrisans are pretty mild and don't curse. However, the words still exist. There are very few--in Sirteman there are a LOT. Ametrisan ones are "Eayo" (s**t) and "Ai" (it's like saying, Oy, or JEEZUS CHRIST, only more profane and less sacrilege) The rest are either not used or I've translated them.
4) As in Sirteman, curse words aren't considered really BAD...like, sin-against-deities bad...they're just something you don't want your children to repeat. Like, alcohol is something you don't want your children to drink...yet. (Though no one gives a damn about that either.)
Sirteman:
1) Same as Ametrisan prefix rule, only it's a suffix. Restrictions apply.
2) The distinct differences between "is," "was," "will be," and "is being" are very, very significant to those deep-souled Sirtemans. There's an indicator or a change of accent to note each one.
3) Sirteman swear words are many and well-used. They say "son/daughter of a demon" to insult somebody, like calling someone an SOB (That's DEMON RACISM!!!) but they would never actually call anyone a b***h. b*****d is different. They throw that one around quite a lot, though it doesn't mean the same as ours--you know, male dog--it's really just a word. And then there's Saiaherde heart which is a really, REALLY bad thing to be called...and to call someone, in case a little kid *coughKamilecough* picks it up. Then there's Oyae (s**t) and Ai (it's really just a sound, either language). The rest I've translated to plain ordinary gutter-mouth English.
4) People in Sirtema actually ENCOURAGE their children to use swear words/drink after the age of seven. Apparently, it's like a battle cry--it gives you power to fight. And that's what Sirtemans...DO. They kick a**.
Drinking is just no biggie. Wine can't hurt you. And ny other drink they have kids won't like anyway. hell, even the adults don't like them.
Well there we go. More to come, I guess. mrgreen

Numbers:
The number system is based off seven. So think about the way we count.
And forget about it.
This is how Ametrisans/Sirtemans count:
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 31 32 33 34 35 36 37 41 42 43 44 45 46 47 51 52 53 54 55 56 57 61 62 63 64 65 66 67 71 72 73 74 75 76 77 101 102 103 104 105 106 107...
and so on, until 777, then onto 1001, and so on, then when they get to 7777777 (7 7's) they stop, pray to a god, and continue.
DAYS OF THE YEAR:
The day starts at dawn.
The solstice starts on midsummer or midwinter.
The year starts on midsummer.
Their year consists of 177 days (that's 98 in our count) 77+77. Midsummer is day zero, only they don't have a zero, so it just doesn't count. Then there's 1 summer [year] ST or AT (Sirteman or Ametrisan Time) and 2nd, and so on. Then, the day after 77 summer, there's midwinter, and then 1 winter [year], etc.
They don't have days of the week or months. They do have spring and fall though. But spring is still considered winter and fall is considered summer. Why? Because their weather is kinda like texas weather--SEASONS DON'T EXIST. There is only freaking hot and freaking cold. And usually, freaking cold doesn't wear off until...like, this time of year. freaking hot lasts until thanksgiving.
The other countries have the numerical system, but their calendar is a little different. Don't ask me how--I don't give a crap how those Ilanese heathens keep time. *shudder*

Question...
You don't have ten on that number list of yours...
So how were they just ten?

In their world, they'd be thirteen.
But I use our number system for mostly everything, except that one part with the math. I really need to make a footnote...remind me later, k? wink
Really, it's just a different way to label the same amount of time.
Maybe, in their world, they'd be like...fifteen...but since their years are shorter than ours, it must be taken into account...uh...yeah, Ten.

Is your alphabet phonetic or something, because the letters and words don't exactly match up sweatdrop
Also sorta random: I noticed you mentioned the language of angels. But, why would Angels need a language? If they are ethereal beings I would think they would be capable of having a slightly more sophisticated form of communication, such as telepathy.
Anyway, looks pretty good Kirby. Pretty well thought out. I still need to read Ametris... but I've got so many books to read gonk
Yeah I know this is an old topic but I felt like contributing something xp )

If you're careful you can find the exact letters that make up their words.
Like: Ametris
Ah-Me-Ah-Te-Ri-Se.
Zildja
Ze-ii-le-de-he-ya.
The j sound is a little toughish...
It's really hard, I bet I'm the only one that could do it. They write in symbols anyway, it makes perfect sense to them...
They're not angels, they're phoenixes. Zili is the oldest language known to their world, the phoenixes spoke it first, and then the mortals made up their own languages. Why shouldn;t the phoenixes have their own language? And anyway, telepathy is a different thing altogether. They can do it, and so can the chosen, but that doesn;t mean they like to.
Telepathy isn't just talking with the mind, you know. It's dangerous to do it among such powerful beings, if someone doesn't know what they're doing.
PS: Saiaherde is still my favorite. heart
