Nevermore Sam and Dean have hit New York City to check out a local rocker's haunted house. But before they can figure out why a lovesick banshee in the bedroom, a far more macabre crime catches their attention. Not far from the house, two university students were beaten to death by a strange assailant. A murder that's bizarre even by New York City standards, it's the latest in a line of killings that the brothers soon suspect are based on the creepy stories of legendary writer Edgar Allan Poe.
Their investigation leads them to the center of one of Poe's horror classics, face-to-face with their most terrifying foe yet. And if Sam and Dean don't rewrite the ending of this chilling tale, a grisly serial killer will end their lives forevermore. Excerpt from the book. Al I got with the link was a register for IMDb page.... but books sound cool. Maybe I can catch up on the first season without spending loads of money on dvds.... I hope they don't screw them too.... I don't think reading them will be as fun but whatever!

I just looked it up. the first Supernatural book will be released August 1st... forgot what its called though. And a 2nd- Witch's Canyon- is available September 1st. They are original novels, based on the show. I should submitt mine.... I'm writing this book, based on the show. Actually, it is the show, just my own story.

Alright... I updated the first post to include all relevant information in case the page count gets too high. I, for one, already have them on my chapters wishlist and am going to buy them the next time I have an order to place.

But its fun, cause I'm using their names how they are, and the Impalla is part of it, and there are some m&m mentions etc. YEah- so if I tried to publish it, it would need a lot of editing, unless if course I sent it to whoevers in charge of the SN books! I think I'll buy them, along with the season one companion! oh teah- I voted Hellz yes, but I'm also saving up for the dvds. It cool cause I'm gonna uy them with a couple friends so I only have to pay like 15, and then once weve all watched them I get to keep them!

A serious actual like...fanfic type thing? Like what they do for Buffy and Angel and...I think some horrible person writes Charmed novels...*shudder* horrible show, and I would wager money the books are worse.
And I apologize, but my dad watches anything that comes on TV, just about. Except american idol *gets up out of chair to bow down to God in thanks*
And a companion? Hmm, interesting. They come out in Canada first? Darn. Well, I have no idea what I'm getting for my cousin's birthday, but looks like I have Christmas.

Ok, I'm too lazy to read every word everyone said... *shrugs* I've been keeping on the thread though...
Books... Companions to shows... Well, they're always temperamental... imo. Some shows have good books. Some bad. And most have a mixture. For instance - Dr Who. Bar the new series books (the new drs), the books rocked. They were either BRILLIANT, or great. Or good. However, the new seasons, there has been some dodgy books... It all comes down to the authors they get to write them...
Hence, it's best to look at the novels the writers have written. For other shows or their own original works. ... Now I'm gonna have to research! lol
Regardless, I'll be getting the book(s). And reading them all. lol. And then I'll critique them and tell y'all how good/bad I think they are! *nods* Infact, I think we'll likely need a Book Club in the Guild later on! lol

I'm pretty sure the books are not just repeats of the show in literature form. Theyre whole other stories, just based on the show with Sam and Dean and all..... Not like Buffy and Angel- those were just shows written down, but close...
I feel way stupid doing this now that I see a lot of people actually read this thread, but here is a tiny snip from the one I'm writing. It doesn't tell you at all what its about, but whatever. Constructive critisism is ok but lets not rip me apart, I'm only a teenager. Oh- and this stuff is my own writing so please don't rip me off ok?
Deep breath- here goes sweatdrop
"I flinched as something clattered in the darkness behind me. Instinctively my hand flew to the inner pocket of my jacket. My fingers slowly traced over the patterns engraved in the cool metal there. I wrapped them around the handle of the pistol, and one went to the trigger, but I left the gun where it was. I could feel the demons all around me. I was constantly aware of them. I could hear them; feel their fading power. My senses wrapped around their thoughts of what they wanted to do to me. It was almost funny. They were weak- groveling behind dumpsters, putting themselves in litle children's dreams in a constant, desperate struggle to exist."
So yeah- there it is. Basically the character who is narating is a teenage girl. Shes a hunter- sort of, its a wee bit hard to explain and just telling you that much makes me feel, well a little stupid so yeah. neutral

fpvs It all comes down to the authors they get to write them... *nods rigorously* Yes... I very much agree to that... The Dr Who books I've read have only been the latest ones.... but some are just..... AMAZING!!!! And the others... I really struggle to get through. Same with SGA books..... *sigh* fpvs Regardless, I'll be getting the book(s). And reading them all. lol. And then I'll critique them and tell y'all how good/bad I think they are! *nods* In fact, I think we'll likely need a Book Club in the Guild later on! lol Yah, me too.. I'll buy everything to support the show and I'd love to get a more back story. We'll make a new Sub-forum for book discussions blaugh It'll be good times. gugudol I'm pretty sure the books are not just repeats of the show in literature form. Theyre whole other stories, just based on the show with Sam and Dean and all..... Not like Buffy and Angel- those were just shows written down, but close... I like books cause they keep everything cannon... The only thing I don't like is the fact that the general story has to remain the same so you can't go killing someone off or making some huge revelation since it won't be carried over to the show.. gugudol So yeah- there it is. Basically the character who is narrating is a teenage girl. Shes a hunter- sort of, its a wee bit hard to explain and just telling you that much makes me feel, well a little stupid so yeah. neutral Is she narrating the entire story? Cause personally, I don't like first person novels... Jim Butcher is, so far, the only author that I can actually read who writes like that. Other than that, I think it's pretty good. You can go here to post your story if you want to add to what you've written.

YEah- pretty much. I battled with the whole first person versus narrative sort a thing, and decided on first person. Cause at first I was writing it as though the characters hadn't been used before- just for personal fun, so I didn't need to worry about trademarks etc. And I heard an author say once that you should always use the first person because otherwise you're intruding on the story. I'm considering editing and switching though, because I'm having some issues with getting things across, like other characters reactions/actions etc. NOw I'm also considering (yes I'm aware its a very long shot) sending it to Kripke in book manuscript form as well as rough script form and seeing if theres any chance in the world he'd be motivated to read it....

Hm... that'd be awesome if he even looked at it blaugh and you get some kinda letter... maybe with signatures n'stuff... yaaay! I'd love to see more canon fiction from supernatural.. they only have the 2 books planned so far.. but I'm optimistic that there will be many more. xd
