The scene is set on the boundary of Atrum and Operis, where there are still some scattered ruined buildings, the trademark of Operis, though the dark abyss of Atrum had started to filter into it, layering the land with a black fog that little light could pass through.
There was no sound, only the eery quiet of the dark land.. The blackness seemed to engulf everything, even sound. Though this was the very edge of the land, so one could still see enough to walk around somewhat comfortably. In the distance was the soft clip-clopping of hooves against stone, soft at first, but it grew louder as it approached the area. Two glowing white orbs in the darkness.. Eyes.
The eyes belonged to a monsterous black stag, with dark bat like wings that were probably 15-20 feet wide from tip to tip. They were currently tucked against it's sides, perfering to walk. This wasn't a matter of urgency, just a casual stroll.
It's rider was a tall human like Nightmare, with pale skin, though thick black armor covered most of his body, along with a long cape that seemed to sparkle like the sky if in the right light. Long onix hair flowed over the cape and his face. His eyes were hollow and black, like black pearls. Black mirrors that reflected every detail.
The king glanced around slowly, chin tilted up in a noble posture. He was actually rather handsome and majestic looking, though the people that he encountered felt an aura of fear, like a slap in the face that was hard to ignore unless you were used to it. And even then, it made you cowar.

A new, normal routine was now occurring once more. A young child-like creature was purring and clinging to a creature far taller and far older than her. As if to make matters worse, the small child had the sharpest .. nails you could ever imagine. The so called "child" was in fact a terror that went by the name of Faint. The poor victim of hers was none other than Grim, a demon embodied by the fear of Death itself. As much as Grim tried to hide it .. he was slowly becoming the younger beings caretaker and sadly to say, servant for the time being.
"What will it take.. to get you back to Grace? Would you like my soul? I'll gladly part with it. Just LEAVE already you little puff ball from hell!"
With steel will Faint clung tighter and bobbed her head up and down as Grim continued walking.
"Horsie?"
"Wha.. what are you talk.."
Naturally before a Grim could finish his statement Faint had unlatched herself from him, leaving him to bend down and slowly stroke his bleeding leg. Faint was already underneath the large party before them, trying to stroke underneath the demons belly.
Apparently the sharp pains in his leg had prevented Grim from realizing that anyone else was even in the area. Still .. what lay before him was something he never had expected to see in his life-time. He was now praying to whatever demons might be listening that Faint would be stepped on. Painfully stepped on.
He twitched and lowered his Scythe, only to take a bow to the demon before him.

The King (Gawd I need to come up with a more common name) glanced down at the terror, a thin eyebrow arching up. He was startled to see such a small, young one get so close to him, and on her own. Most nightmares that weren't strong demons tended to stay back at least a few feet. But the girl was cute, so he gave her no disaproving look. The huge deer that he rode stomped it's feet a bit when Faint petted him, stiring up a bit of black dust. The mount huffed at her and glared, an obvious warning that said if she cut him he'd kick her head off.
The King chuckled softly as she watched this interaction, his eyes focusing on Faint, his eyes reflecting her image. He knew at a mere glance what each Nightmare represented, it was his talent.. But it was fairly obvious she was the Fear of Needles. "Child.." His voice seemed to echo slightly, even though there was nothing around for the sound to bounce off of. And the black mist didnt dull his voice, it was clear and strong. "I would be careful... He does not have alot of patience..." A black gloved hand reached out to pat the stag's neck to calm him. Then his eyes moved to reguard the bowing Grim. He waved a hand to dismiss the bow. "Are you her guardian?"

As Grim watched the show before him he couldn't help but smile. The steed was ready to maim her, how sweet. He lifted himself upright and stared blankly at the king while trying to be somewhat civil.
"Guar... dian? Do I look like a babysitter? .. Sir?" he mumbled out, twitching a bit. While he wasn't trying to be rude ..he was insulted at even imagining what would happen if Faint was with him every second of the day, calling for her every need. As he thought of this he came to a sudden realization, she was with him every second of the day calling for her needs.
Faint giggled slightly and retracted her nails, trying to reach up at the deers belly once more. "Why? .. Does the horsie not like me? ..."
"It's not a horsie... show some respect...
"It's a horsie to me.."
She stopped her pettings and finally came out from under the deer. "Does the horsie have.. a name perhaps?"
"Please kill her.. ..I.. I mean please excuse her. Lets just say manners are not something she knows.."
"What was that Bones? You're not nice either ... how dare you not admit to taking care of me. "Mommy" should know better"
"Why you little .... stop acting like you're two. You don't talk like this normally!" As his face turned red he coughed, glaring at her intently. Arguing here would not be a wise thing to do.
Faint might not have realized who this person was, but she was indeed aware that he had to have some sort of a high authority. If not, Grim wouldn't be blushing. Acting cute was on her agenda as always, it suited her well no matter the situation. Who would blame the cute one?
Grim averted his gaze to the ground, currently wondering how painful his upcoming death might be. He couldn't control her and would most likely be held responsible for her in the end.

The king just watched this interaction, his expression blank, though not particuarly minacing. If anything, he was amused. Well, he really was amused... Who wouldn't be?
And the two hadn't really done anything wrong... A bit of lack of respect, but it was easily excused. They both seemed rather young to him.
The deer was the opposite. It stomped and huffed in Faint's direction, obviously not liking being called 'horsie'. How dare she! HE was the king's mount, the partner to the most powerful Nightmare in all of Nightscape! He bit through his reigns and glared down at her with white firey eyes, though when the king put a gentle hand on his neck, he calmed slightly, enough to not kill her anyway. "His name is Diago, little one."
He glanced up to address Grim again, looking him over. "Guardian or no, you should teach your company a few lessons on politeness. You both seem to need them." Though the words were a bit stern, his voice was still rather monotone, not seeming angry. If anything, it just seemed like a father mildly lecturing a child.

Faint stopped stroking at the mount when she was glared at. "Diago? ... such a noble name" she murred. Grim lifted up his head to stare at her, whispering to himself. "Suck.. up.." He shifted his weight and walked over to where Faint was, grabbing her by the arm and pulling her away from Diago finally. While it was a painful experience, at least he didn't have to worry about being trampled by Diago for the moment. As Grim sighed and wiped the blood from his arm he realized he then had a carry-on. Faint had latched onto his leg. "The.. pain..." Prying her off seemed... futile as she only latched on tighter and giggled some more. Instead, he gave up and turned his attention to the king.
"What.. brings you to this area.. sir?" he said, shaking a little. He wasn't used to seeing many other nightmares where he roamed, this was a bad omen in his eyes. Faint yawned and snuggled into Faints leg. "Does hor... I mean Diago want something to drink?"
