Akila had never outgrown her love of running, of moving, of exploration. Her newfound maturity simply allowed her to do it longer, and without Mai as a constant nursemaid. So she ran, and ran and ran, mane and tail streaming behind her. Pale hooves flashed in the light that gleamed off of a cream-and-azure coat, that lit vivid blue eyes.

Shikoba had been by the lake most of the day, and he was now making his way across the large field, enjoying the quiet of the beautiful spring day. His long, flowing mane was whipped by the wind, and the feathers rustled in the wind. He felt a small rush inside himself, and had the urge to run.
He took off suddenly, bolting across the field, pushing himself faster and faster. He felt so powerful as the landscape rushed by him in a blur.

Akila nickered pleasantly at the stallion she noticed coming near her path, adjusting her direction so that she ran alongside. Her long legs ate up the ground easily, a gift of her tall stature. It took her a moment to notice the stranger's wings, her stride faltering a little in surprise when she did. The wind would have torn away anything she tried to say, but her awed expression stated it all.

Shikoba was a bit startled by the mare's appearance. He hadn't seen her before, and now she was running alongside him as if challenging him to a race. He looked at her, and took in her odd colouring. As he switched his view from the mare to his path ahead of him, he was still confused about what she was doing. Did she want to race?
He set his gaze forward and pushed himself ahead, lengthening his stride to pull ahead of the mare. He looked back at her and saw the amazed look on her face, and he truly didn't understand what she was amazed at.
