--Le gasp-- I noticed no-ones created a thread just for us geeks that constantly have our heads stuck in books!
So, what are you reading?
--Please note, if you're going to post a spoiler please make it clear (As someone might have the book you've read in my To Read pile) and try to disguise it.

I'm currently reading Guards! Guards! by Terry Pratchett

Are we the only bookworms in this guild?! eek

I usually read several books at once as I have a problem with making decisions... wink

At the moment it's
"A Fest for Crows" (the 4 th book of "A Song of Ice and Fire") by George R. R. Martin
"The Golden Compass" (1st book of "His Dark Materials") by Philip Pullman
and a biography of Jean Francois Champollion the man who deciphered the egyptian hieroglyphics.

I've tried Terry Prachett but never really gotten through to it...

I'll have to make another trip to the library here soon.. I just finished reading The Lonely Girls Club not too long ago.. I just read through books so fast and then never get the time to go find more to read.. I'm a big mystery reader.. What kind of books are the rest of you reading? Not just the titles but what genre?

Yea!! I am glad I found a thread for books. I am a lover of historical romances. Johanna Lindsey is my favorite! I have all of her books and can not wait for the next one to come out. If anyone knows of any good historical romance novels please, please, please let me know. I am always in search of one. There are pretty hard to find here where I am at. I love books of vikings, Scotland, England, Irish, and things like that. I am the type that can get lost, lost, lost in a good written book!

Sorry, I can't give you with that kind of books as most of my books are fantasy.

I like getting lost in a totally different world instead of being presented with stuff I have around me all the time.

Yeah I can understand that.. I've read a bit of fantasy myself.. but unfortunately for me I like having it be something I can relate to.. though usually as long as it has good characters in it that's all it takes.. But I have a hard time reading a lot of sci-fi stuff.. and some fantasy due to wanting to be able to connect with the characters though..

I love books! I'm constantly reading something, it's just the way I was raised. sweatdrop Right now I'm reading Proust's In Search of Lost Time and a really interesting non-fiction book on geisha. After I finish those, I'm gonna try Spenser's The Faerie Queen.

It looks like the men around here don't read books. rofl
I don't read many books, but I'm reading one now.
"Warped Passages" by Lisa Randall.
I love her work (she's a physicist) but this stuff is not a page-turner. gonk
I can only read a few pages at a time, then I take a nap. rofl

I usually enjoy a book of short ghost stories, those are my fav! I also like to read Children's fantasy books.

I can't wait till July 21st though, I'll be reading the 7th and last Harry Potter book, after that I think I might start the Narnia series or Lord of the Rings series.

Lets see... In the last month or two I've read Anansi Boys, Goodnight Nobody, Fluke, The Lovely Bones and now I'm reading Wicked.

I like to read a little of everything. I lean slightly more toward fiction than non-fiction and love urban fantasy (pretty much any modern fiction that has a fantasy/mythological or science fiction twist in it somewhere).

I am currently reading Elizabeth Hayden's Rhapsody as well Simon Green's Adventures of Hawk and Fisher (whenever I need a break from reading Rhapsody). Both are fantasy books and I don't normally read one book at a time. The maximum I can handle reading books in any given time are four and only 2 of the four finished within 3 months due to the busy week I have (full-time job at rx store and part-time job at grocery store and beading in between). xp

My gendre is mostly fantasy/teen books. I've read all the HP books, everything in the xanth series by Piers Anthony (full of groaner puns).
For some strange reason I'm re-reading, for the 30th time =/- a couple, LoTR, I'm at Helm's deep and Gandalf has just saved the day. I also recently read Nancy Farmer's sequel to "the Sae of Trolls" called "Land of The Silver Apples" not bad.

I love books ^_^ I just don't always have time to read novels. I read a lot all the time of various things... sometimes newspapers, magazines, comic books heart and any novel that catches my eye.

The last I read was Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer
the third book in a series that she's written--her unique take on vampires and werewolves. ^_^ Although it was not written for 'young adults' that's the market that you will find them in because the lead character is in high school (though just graduated at the end of this last novel).

I highly recommend it- for the romance and adventure aspect.

Before that Necklace of Kisses by Francesca Lia Block
Another book in a series about a very quirky character named Weetzie Bat. Wonderful series! Really tells of the enchantment of Los Angeles

Usually I read fantasy/scifi but I've been very unimpressed by what's out there right now. I'm looking for an out of print series by Lee Killough - the only book I got to read of that set was called The Doppelganger Gambit
