Marani lay beneath the shade of the lollipop tree, fast asleep in the hot dry morning. She disliked the sun immensely, much like her father, not that it was necessarily hurtful to her. Both her father and herself were more powerful then that.

Her glow-sparkfire maw opened to breath a bit better and she relax more in the partial darkness, enjoying the soft quiet of being on her own. She wouldn't mind company at most any point, but when she was sleeping that was enemy territory. She wasn't pleasant if woken violently.

Marani had been aware of the other presence for quite some time. Her hearing was as good as her father's and she had detected the heartbeat long before the other numa had come near her. Sleep had promptly evaporated once said sound was heard, much more in favor of the possible meal that had arisen.

Marani had nothing near the control her fatehr had when it came to these matters.

The sounds of someone coming toward her and passing her made her want to open her eyes or allow her body to shift, but that would reveal that she was not asleep, wouldn't it? And it wouldn't do to just...act that way whenever anyone came near.

The thud of the fruit allowed her the opening and freedom to actually move. Re-lidded eyes opened and she looked upward, curious to see what this new intruder actually looked like. A simple smile was her only greeting. She wouldn't take the fruit, even if it had been offered to her, she wasn't very hungry. At least...not for that type of sustenance.

Marani watched silently from her sitting position on the ground, noting the bit of grace and agility the other female showed. She would be such a delicious--No. Hadn't her father told her to quell those thoughts? She couldn't act like that. Not here and not now. She was too young to have complete control over herself, but she'd die of shame before allowing herself to turn into a beast.

"Won't you join me?" She asked finally, her voice oddly deep and melodious for a pup, and one so young at that. She liked the sound of her voice, it was something beautoiful to her, but she wasn't about to speak too often or too much, that would merely deplete the ability to speak in such a voice.

Marani smiled, eyes focused intently on the blackish female. She was graceful for a pup, though that simply added a bit to her appeal. Marani forced her mind away from the lovely thoughts. Those thoughts had no place here, hadn't her father always told her that?

"So kind of you to join me," She told the other pup, smiling genially. THere was no sense in being rude to anyone, even if their lack of response hinted at its own rudeness, "A pleasant day, isn't it?"

Her gaze shifted to the tail as it cracked. It was a...bit of a grotesque sound; not pleasant, but not something one would be able to comment on without being incredibly rude in doing so. Lovely.

Marani's long ears flicked backward silently, her pleasant demeanor not faltering, but the genuity of her emotions diminishing. She wasn't fond of those who didn't share or at least attempt to garner the same demeanor and emotions themselves.

The little pup's attitude--and very gaze--annoyed her a bit. Her she was valiantly controlling herself against something her kind considered good food and the little pup had the rudeness to look at her like that? A smile would have been appreciated, even a galnce with some friendly emotion would have een nice, but this?

Marani felt the desire to leave engulf her, even if it meant venturing out into the scalding sunlight and away from the shade. She wasn't in the mood to deal with such attitudes. She stared right back anyway, her own eyes sparkling with just a hint of defiance and animosity.

Marani kept the look of contempt for both eyes and face, but barely. What, did this female think she was somehow worthy now? With that rose-candy? The nerve. Just because Marani was only a half-breed, and not that it mattered in the circles that counted, did this female think she needed a test?

It irked her. Irked her enough that she barely registered the annoying crack of the black pup's tail.

"How kind of you," Her words oozed sweetness, but her demeanor was a bit...less. She didn't take well to those who underestimated her. Even at this young age. She carefully grasped the rose, placing it nearby with the sufficient grace.

Marani looked at the other pup with raised eyebrows. Most people do not go about revealing their physical states to people they had just met. It was a rather foolish move on her part.

Marani was going to be generous and not say a single word on the subject. She was not going to be the one who revealed that mistake. It was too early in the day for her to want to, either.

Marani shrugged silently, looking out and over the land. It was a nice place, filled with the beauty and candy that only a place such a Numa Numa Land could possess. Marani couldn't help but would if there were others places out there, though, other places with new discveries for her to uncover.

Marani watched her with crimson-red eyes, though they were half-lidded. This other female did not seem the brightest, but it could all be an act. Who knew, anyway? She could be hunting Marani just as Marani was trying not to.

She blew out her breath softly in a sigh, resisting the urge to twitch as the tail cracked again. That sound was becoming rather annoying, especially because she knew what caused said sound. Blech.
