Nevertheless, it was best not to strain himself overmuch whilst he was still recovering. Slowing to a walk, the Ichsa bowed his head to drink from the river before wading out onto the bank to give himself a good shake. He was clean now, free of the blood and dirt that had stained him upon his arrival in the calm valley. Many baths in the softly flowing water he had just left and much rolling in the rich grass had seen to that.

Smiling to himself, the brown-eyed Nequus bent to nibble at the verdant carpet that stretched as far as his eyes could see. Giving himself another shake, the brown-eyed stallion bent back to grazing. Of any other Nequus that might be about, he remained unaware.

((sorry i couldnt find a reg pic....))  Vartan walked around wondering what to do.he stoped and looked around at the animals.Thinking a little he walked to get a drink.Seeing someone else here he stop and watched it.He wondered who this was,he had never seen a Neuus like this before.He walked over and got a drink.Keeping an eye on this other.Wondering what to do he winnied lightly."Hello."

The Ichsa stallion gave a snort at the unexpected voice, wheeling about with his head lowered, horn on display... Oh. The brown-eyed male raised his head and smiled at the other Nequus; a Bae of striking red. "Greetings good sir," he called as he made a slight bow to the other stallion. "I must confess you startled me somewhat, please take no offence at the display of my horn; none was intended I assure you."
It was better to have to apologise for a possible insult than to show a weak face to a possible foe after all. The red-bodied creature looked like an amiable sort; most likely the aggressive pose would be forgotten and forgiven soon enough.
"My name is Sol," the tendril-winged creature went on with a smile. "Might I enquire as to yours?"

Vartan jumped back.He listened to him.Turing his head he watched him some more."I see.....And i think your horn is cool."He listened."Nice too meet you im Vartan."Getting a drink he still kept an eye on Sol.

The pale-coated stallion smiled and bobbed his head at the strikingly coloured Bae. "My thanks Vartan, I am rather fond of it myself." The sight of it was a bit of a deterrent to any that otherwise might have thought to trifle with him. Oh many Nequus still did of course, just not quite as many as might otherwise have been the case and it certainly made his fight a lot easier.
"Are you new to this place Vartan?" the tall Ichsa asked. "I myself have not been here long but I have already found the valley of D'ob to be a wonderful place to live. I confess I've not seen very much of it but this area, under Lady Nyx's protection and guidance, is as fair as any part of the world I have seen before." It wasn't as breathtaking as some places he had been but it had its own kind, gentle beauty nonetheless.

"I just love your horn.I want one so badly now.And no prob."Vartan watched his horn."Its awsome.And pretty."Vartan looked to him."Oh.Yeah i am....And really?I'm suprised that you havent been here long."He said think and said."Whoes Lady Nyx?"Thinking and thinking of who that was.He just couldnt get it threw his big head of who that was."Hm.....Is there somthing wrong?"Vartan asked.

Sol chuckled at the Bae's enthusiasm and bobbed his head. "Nay, nothing is wrong and again, I must thank you for your kind words. My horn has been of great use to me on many occasions but 'tis good to know that other souls than myself see its beauty as well as its function." The dark-eyed Nequus bent momentarily to nibble at an itch on his knee before straightening again to face the red Bae. "I know it seems odd that a Nequus could not have been to this fair vale before," he admitted, "but my quest had not brought me to these lands until I was in need of rest. There is little evil and injustice hereabouts from what I can tell so I have no cause to be here for the most part."
The red-green Bae seemed a decent sort, perhaps one that would benefit from becoming at least a temporary part of Nyx's herd. The more he could tell the smaller stallion the better then. "Lady Nyx leads a herd who abide in this part of D'ob," the Ichsa explained. "She is an Aeri mare of great height, wisdom and strength. You would know her in an instant were you to see her for the blending of orange and blue circles upon her. I can assure you that her temper is not in keeping with the wild colouring however, she is a kind, gentle soul and welcomes many a lonely traveller into her herd for a day, a season or for life."
Sol smiled at the other stallion and nodded to a small patch of trees a little way away from them. "Often she is to be found sleeping over yonder if she is not up and about the place. I would greatly recommend you speak with her before you leave this part of the valley; I doubt you would regret such a meeting and you might even have something to gain from it."

"I see.And how will i be able to talk to Lady Nyx?"Vartan listened to his words.With thinking more about this Lady Nyx he wondered."Hm...Do you think one of these days you have me meet up with her?"Vartan asked."She sounds nice and careing."He said sighed a bit and leaned to get some grass.Thinking more and more about her."I wish to see Lady Nyx soon as possable.Could you possably do that for me?"

Sol bobbed his head in assent. "Most certainly Vartan. We can go now if you wish; I've no pressing business this day and would be glad to assist you." It would be good to be of use whilst he was still recovering his strength, good in fact to be able to help with something other than violence for a change.
The tall stallion turned towards the patch of trees he had indicated to the Bae and glanced back at his companion. "Do we go, companion Vartan?" the pale-coated Nequus quizzed with an eager toss of his head. It would be nice to be able to have a bit of a run... but not just yet. First he would take the red stallion to Nyx, then he could go for a gallop.

The dark-eyed stallion chuckled. "Companion, compatriot, friend. Not all one and the same but of the same breed oftentimes. In any case, let us be away." Prancing briefly, Sol set off at a sprightly trot, head and tail held proudly high.
"It is around this time of day that Lady Nyx usually arises," the Ichsa informed the red stallion at his side. "She likes to see a portion of both the day and the night, probably so that she may see and speak with all of those who live in her land. In this way I believe she seeks not to favour the views of those who sleep by the day or by the night." It certainly seemed like a sensible reason for living between the two as the big mare did though she had not stated her reasons for doing so directly.

Vartan sighed and caught up."I forgot to say i love your wings."He said looking at them."So do you know of where she is?"

Sol smiled internally; quite full of compliments this one was. "Thank you once again Vartan," the Ichsa said with a bob of his head. "As to Nyx, the last I saw her she was well and I can only assume that she still is." He was sure he'd told the other stallion where they were heading to but perhaps his idiosyncratic speech pattern had scrambled the message. "She ought to be under the trees ahead," Sol informed the other Nequus, slowing his pace slightly to allow the smaller creature to keep up with greater ease. "If we do not find her there then I suspect she will be down by the river nearby drinking."

Watching of where he was going he said."No prob.And what are her colors?And i bet by what you say she is really nice."Vartan said while looking around.Following Sol.He troted.His wings bobed up and down at his sides.He was thinking a little bit more.

The pale stallion blinked. He'd definitely told the other Nequus what Nyx looked like. "Orange with blue spots," he replied, trying not to sound as bemused as he felt. Perhaps the Bae was hard of hearing or some such. "In any case," Sol sent on as they approached the trees, "she is indeed a very pleasant person to be around as I am sure you shall see for yourself in a moment."
At the edge of the copse, the warrior came to a halt and pricked his ears attentively foreword. "Lady Nyx? Do you sleep still good lady?"
The tall mare, who had been nibbling on some tender young leaves, turned about at the Ichsa's call. "No, I'm awake," she replied. "Give me a moment, I'll be right with you." Taking one more mouthful of foliage, the brightly coloured Aeri gave herself a shake, swallowed and paced out of the trees.
"Ah, good afternoon Sol," she smiled at the dark-eyed stallion. "I see you've brought a new friend to meet me," the big Nequus went on, turning her attention to Vartan. "Welcome to my home... ah? Sorry, what's your name? Sol seems to have told you mine already but you needn't bother with the honorific of 'lady' he insists on, it's just his way. Nobody else bothers with titles I assure you. I'm not so much in charge as... an administrator I suppose. I sort out arguments and make sure everybody’s happy and such, no need for titles at all."
The splotched mare shot a smile over at Sol; it was good to see him looking so well.
