I can't really tell a story about "txt-tlk", because I have so many of them. What I can do is give an indication below:
Imagine posting a pretty strong topic in terms of grammar and morality, only to have it ruined by weaklings. On other forums when I simply had the urge to type nicely about the state of politics or religion, "i don't care, lol" destroys the whole purpose. It's as though Congress is actually being run by ten-year-olds.
But what the hey. The moral is nobody, even myself, should debate politics on the internet. Especially when the uneducated public is in charge of most of it.

I know what you mean. It's making me think that it really is pointless to have serious debates over the Internet because it will always be ruined by some rabid txt tlker or two.

Oh, the stupidity of all. crying What's the point in having reasonable debates and stimulating discussion if tween text-talkers start effing it up??? scream Next thing you know, the whole scene on world news, religion, and politics are in the hands of a handful of text-talking ten-year-old AOLers!!!
In short, we are utterly doomed. sad
