Anybody here like Otep? I've only heard afew songs but they sound pretty good. only female vocalist I really like.

Again (ive said this a few times now0 im not a fan of screaming vocals especially on a chic. I do like theyre bass though. Simplicity if often the key for bass lines in metal for some reason.

i saw them live and they played terribly, she doesn't sound anything like she does in the songs.

yes, and no.
i saw them live and was like. eh? what the frigg... it sucked a**.
i do like some of there songs, but i prefer to listen to them off a CD rather then live neutral

i don't think musicians should edit their music except for clarity...
it's a hard concept to explain, but i know it in my head.
i'll try though.
if a band has to edit what they sound like live to get fans, then they have no business playing.
if a person is going to like the music they produce, they're going to like it for what it REALLY sounds like more than what it sounds like with all the flaws edited out.
i put a lot of judgment on the bands i listen to by how they sound live.... it's weird, but if i really like a band, and they have a sucky sound, but it's the same live, i don't lose any respect for them. but if a band has a great CD and i hear it live and i'm disappointed, i will hate them. it makes me feel cheated.
what i really like is when bands are totally better live than on their albums.
