6060 A.D.
The REIII Fleet was effective, that was it’s job. In one year since the invasion of Norrington, it had picked itself up and revamped itself. Fox’s DNA security access ID was the first project that had been completed, compromising on all ideas from several parties. All Fleet members now had a small microchip with their DNA and personal access code levels implanted into the heel of their hand. This came with revamped security through out Fleet in the form of scanners for these chips.

Project Metamorphosis had been restored to it’s original proposition ideal. Captain Noris had seen the error in not letting progress happen, despite the mishaps that could occur. It kept Fleet out of date of what could be done on earth. Therefore, it had been granted back all of it’s original privileges. Any new candidates were rigorously tested before any acceptance to try and cut down on any suicide rates as was one of the problems with the project originally.

Project Cognizance had lost it’s Project Leader but with competent workers did not suffer for it. Dr. Fein had resigned her position in Fleet after the Norrington Incident, finding herself much happier to retire to a lone tropical island in some undisclosed location that she wouldn’t tell, probably for the fun of it. Her research was given to Fleet completely and she seemed happy to wash her hands of everything.

Project Catalyst wasn’t allowed as much freedom as it had been granted before. Now having to schedule when they needed power downs and the like, and also was restricted from more outlandish theories to be tested on mass scales. After all, they could prove a theory with a tiny amount of energy in a scaled experiment.

Project Echo found the most change. Jelena Trevale had proven that such mythical creatures could exist, that she could create them, they could survive in a typical environment and indeed be conditioned. A number of her specimens had died with the over-haul of Envision, their delicate immune systems eventually getting the better of them. However Captain Noris, rather than incinerate them, had them preserved and they stood in Radiance’s own little museum of it’s own developmental culture across all the projects.

Dr. Trevale had not taken the incident well, and with her delicate condition as well being made worse from being batted around by Norrington after a major surgery, Captain Noris put her on professional leave from her work for three months. Echo work handled by her staff that kept her updated.

However, Project Echo did not die. It’s original purpose had been scaled back and with permission from Captain Noris in very specific stated terms, some of the restrictions were lifted dealing with humanoid bioengineering. No they still weren’t allowed to create living humanoid beings, but they could create living tissue. With such goals in mind, Project Echo was linked with Project Metamorphosis in the issue. This is what Dr. Trevale returned to work on after her three month leave.

6059 A.D.
It was inevitable that man would move to space. That he would reach out to the stars, touch those stars then yearn to live among them. To further float about them and then discover new worlds, aspects of that ebony expanse called space that were never imagined. But, the mystery of space grows old to ones who study it nonstop and their eyes and mind turn back to what is best known, yet forgotten. Their home, and all the mysteries that had been left behind there. Furthering these basic studies of who and where they were and are, they then moved to the creation and modifying of that world. Thus the R.E.I.I.I. Star Cruiser Fleet/Space Station was deployed and established: Radiance, Envision, Ingenuity, Impression, Innovation. The star cruiser fleet of five ships that were sent into space for scientific studies.

However this is a large controversy involving these projects. The scientific communities on Earth feel these projects cross the line on almost all ethical standpoints. They view these people as crazy and believe that needles money is being spent on this station. Even though it is government money and little at that. Though through the Fleet's eleven year life, funding has become less of a need.

Over the years, R.E.I.I.I. has become self maintaining and self containing. Thus providing all of it's needs and materials virtually eliminating the need for money. In fact, no money is exchanged at all on the R.E.I.I.I. and not even the scientists and most staff are not paid.

Along with it's partial break from government funding, R.E.I.I.I. has become choosy about it's technology and its association with the Earth. All military involvement, be it weapons or other, had recently been banned from the Fleet. This also caused the cut back to the Metamorphosis Project on board the Ingenuity.

The Radiance is dubbed the "Home Cruiser" as it simulates a common environment of city life found on Earth. Most of the flight crews of transporters and lesser staff members of the four project ships live here as well. All important functions take place here and it houses the main power and generator power to the other four as well as supplies them all.

Project Echo (Envision):
Three years ago Dr. Jelena Trevale was given the funding to pursue what she called the Echo Project. This project was to include the bio engineering and study of creatures to be a physical live body of a mythological creature, produced through genetic means. These creatures are housed and taken care of on the envision ship, however there are rules. Dr. Trevale refuses to cross one boundary she devised based on ethics. Namely there is to be no creation of humanoid myths, no myths of spoken thought. Therefore some myths are banned from experimentation and others are simply restricted.

Project Catalyst (Innovation):
One field of Science constantly pursued is energy or power, so it makes sense that one of the project cruisers would be devoted to this field, even though this field stands highly more credible than the one that started the space projects (Project Echo). Within this cruiser different newer forms of energy are pursued, some older ideas along with new ideas told around the ballroom in a jesting manner (for instance the power of laughter). Because of the nature of the tests run in this cruiser, power often goes out in the entire station, leaving Radiance with their generators, and everyone else, well floating around.

Project Cognizance (Impression):
The mind has long been held as one of the most fascinating parts of a body, the human mind of course being the most studied. The minds of various people can be so diverse, different areas used more between genders, studies produce results that are often erratic and unpredictable. Though diversity and intelligence are welcome in this cruiser, personality and an eccentric state of mind are present here as well shown through the different sub projects. General study of the mind sometimes takes a backseat to the study of the anomalies in particular subjects. Example: telepathy, empathy, deja vu, and secret memories.

Project Metamorphosis (Ingenuity): Mechanical body modification on various species. Also deals in the production of various types of nanomachines. The idea was started in the basis as production of advanced artificial limbs that could act almost like the original part. Mechanical arms and legs with full mobile capabilities in all joints to replace simple prosthetics, also sensory modification. After achieving this and surpassing the goal more creative minds took extra time to explore other routes. These more advanced ideas include the creation of new parts and incorporation of them onto human volunteers. Another thought explored here were nanomachines to heal or self maintain a modified human. Almost any device thought of was to be adapted onto a human, however this project experienced extreme cutbacks in new creation after several mishaps with integration. Now this module serves mostly as a maintenance service for those already changed or "upgraded" as most of the more advanced parts were easier to maintain than remove.

Jelena tucked a piece of short hair behind her ears as her O.O.D.D.S. took their rightful place and were plugged. Momentarily she scanned the information that was presented on the little screens to her. Various specs on her beloved Echos. A short scan to each species before she turned the screens to standby, giving them the appearance of simple glasses once more...she didn't even need glasses, but they looked good.

Now a look at the charts on her desk. A few major things that she needed to sign, which were duly signed. But something important now, the copies approval papers and the initial application of her newest member to the Echo project. Not many got in under Jelena's scrutiny.

"Trevy, she'll be here in a few hours at least." A look to the mess that was her desk and the surrounding workspace. "Want to clean up there at little?"

"If she's going to work here, she's going to have to learn to work around my chaos just like you Erik, and everyone else." A sweet smile.

Roselyn finished getting dressed in her shorts and tank top. At times her parts could act up and would flare out, bad for anyone around here. It did not happen often but when it did it was not good for clothes, or people that stood too close. She sighed and put on some sandals leaving those open too, a large amount of time she walked around barefoot or nearly that. She had noticed once when testing herself that her right ankle blade came out a little slow, that would have to be checked on. She was almost certain the problem was not with her nerves, more with the pieces themselves.

Checking her hair in the mirror in her nice little room she combed her fingers through it and smoothed it out, tucking it behind her ears. She might want to get that cut as well, it was almost going past her neck. Her face kept for the most part either an emotionless downcast gaze or a slight glare that scared people off or had them pitty her for knowing where she came from. Just remembering how she had gotten there. Lightly scratching at one of her ears, she paced a bit then left her room moving to the office, watching the woman and her assistant a moment before speaking in a quiet voice, "Doctor Trevale?" She was going to ask something and fidgeted a moment before just shaking her head, picking a completely different question. The first one was... well. "Hey, have you seen Ren? He has usually come by to bug me by now." And she quite literally meant bug her.

Lillia Nikkco, newest addition to the Echo team, and current assistant to Dr. Jelena Trevale, wandered the halls. She was really very lost and she wished she had been listening when someone had given her directions to Dr. Trevale's office. Instead she had been thinking about her last moments with her parents.

It had been a very...tense time in the Nikkco house, her mother had locked herself in her sunroom and was not speaking to Lillia and her father, well at least he had given her a hug before she left. But his words had been discouragin. "Now Lillia, when this crazy woman gets her funding yanked and your name is splattered all over the scientific community as a disgrace and a laughingstock and you must come home with your proverbial tail between your legs, if you will pardon a much overused expression, your mother and I will be here for you. And you can come back home and then get a nice normal job as a reasearch assistant at Columbia" She had blinked a few times and then nodded, "Thanks Daddy...I'll umm keep that in mind."

She ran a hand through her blonde hair and looked around again. "Was it a left there or was it a right? Goodness, I do not even know anymore." She searched through the papers she had been given, looking for a map but found none. And there appeared to be no one in the hall currently.

A look away from Erik to focus on Roselyn with a smile. "Hello there Rosey." And her files were set aside for the time being in somewhat of a pile. "Rennell? Sorry to tell you Rosey, but," she held up a P.A.I.D., " I had to yank his access into the holding areas of the Echos. He...made the Fenrirs none too happy. You know how loud he can be...not that his happiness isn't appreciated...just not around the Echos." Rosey was given an apologetic smile. "And what have I told you, it's Jelena."

"Psst, Rosey. Call her Trevy..." He chuckled. Erik loved to get on his boss's nerves. He was rather big...bouncer type but he had a heart of gold and was more teddy bear than bouncer. "Trevy...mess?"

"I told you, she can deal." She waved a hand at him as she stacked a few files and then held out Rennell's P.A.I.D. band for Echo to Rosey. "You can hold it and decide when he ears it back." Another smile. "You heading out? If you run into someone like this, " A picture of her new assistant held up, "make sure she didn't wander in an odd direction."

Rosey watched the ground somewhat as they spoke, toeing her feet in and out of her sandals, her tail hanging mostly limp. "Right Jelena," She shook her head at Erik and looked up a little then, "I do not think I will be calling her Trevy..." A slight smile and a roll of her eyes was the only emotion that shown with this information, then she scratched at her ears lightly, "Yes... I am very aware of how loud he can be." With hers permenant and only limited control over them, it was difficult for her to be around him sometimes, but he would stalk her anyway. She took the band and pocketed it, though she was not planning on giving it back to him yet. She got to sleep in today, she would enjoy that for a while.

Then she slightly raised an eyebrow, "You actually let in someone new? How hard was that decision?" That was her small brand of humor she showed only in more recent years after opening up. But as if given a strict order she memorized the features of the woman and nodded, making her stance less relaxed, "Alright, I will, and yea I will be going for now." A small wave and Rosey was out, heading through the security area for Echo and more into the general parts of the ship.

Lillia was still wandering around lost. She had no idea where she was supposed to go and a quick glance at her watch told her she was late. Joy. She kept walking taking random turns and peeking in rooms but none of them held Dr. Trevale. Lillia knew that for sure because she knew every feature the doctor possessed. She had studied up on everything about the woman since she was eighteen and the project had first been announced. Her parents had tried to destroy the character of Jelena but nothing could put a blemish on her for Lillia. She knew that the doctor was kind and was not trying to play God like so many suggested. It was merely an imaginative mind coupled with some advanced scientific technology. Imagination, something rare among the brains of the world. It almost made her lose hope in her fellow physicists and biologists all together. But then she had found about project Echo and it had been perfect for her. But now she was late and she'd probably get fired. she leaned against the wall and closed her eyes, putting her hand to her head to calm the dizzy spell that was currently trying to overcome her. Just nerves, seh assumed, coupled with the fact that she was late. She looked around and saw someone in the hallway. It was a women...she thought. But she looked a bit different. Interesting ears. "Hello? can you help me? I'm looking for Dr. Trevale's office... Do you know where it is?"

Rennell was as loud as ever as he merrily strolled the hall, this time whistling for the whole ship to practically hear...which when looked at in scientific terms, shouldn't be possible due to the ship's size. But he walked rather soundlessly, except for the occasional scrap of metal on metal from his wings.

Whistling abruptly stopped as he spotted one thing he loved seeing and then another that intrigued him. A sprint forward and Roselyn would find she had a Rennell hanging off of her in friendly fashion. "Rose bud! Wondering if you were going to venture out and brace the ship knowing I'm lurking about. You know ever since Metamorphosis cut back, I just have so much free time."

Then a look to the other with them. "And who's this pretty little thing aboard the lovely Envision today? Certainly a vision within the envision." A goofy smirk to accompany his words.

Roselyn continued along wandering, watching the ground until a woman seemed to be speaking to her. At the noise she looked up and focused on the woman, who was so conveniently the woman Jelena had shown her a picture of. A small smile came to her face and her tail twitched out of curiosity then she nodded. She turned as far as she could and pointed one finger in the direction she had just come. As she pointed that one claw extended and shot out a bit, "She is in that direction. Good luck she is already babbling today."

As she went to turn back she suddenly found a weight hanging off of her and she sighed and rolled her eyes. A shake of her head, "Hello Rennell... You know I considered not leaving the Echo section since you are no longer allowed there." That small smile again. She turned just enough dropped down going limp and letting her legs spread wide in a split she rid herself of the extra weight then rolled to get out of the way of his falling, "I have noticed you have an obscene amount of free time." She would have made a comment about the flirting but instead just stood and moved one hand to hold her arm which hung straight down in a small motion of discomfort.

For a moment he looked at the empty space between his arms where Roselyn used to be...then stumbled as gravity from the support shift tried to down him. A slight twitch of wings found his balance and he simply shrugged and continued on in his life with that happy go lucky sickening attitude. A look to her and he put on a pout act. "She said I make the Echos angry with my noise." A poke at Roselyn. "And you're here showing me she's right."

Now a look was cast to their visitor. "Rose bud, you didn't introduce us." And he cleared his throat. "Hello there miss, my name's Rennell and this is my good friend Roselyn." Now a laugh. "Don't mention to Dr. Trevale that I'm here though..." Another happy smile.

James was in his private quarters, using a set of instruments to tune his arm. the red eyeglass had come down over his eye, giving biomechantic skematics and analysis. His hand reacted a little slow, and he intended to fix that. he wanted perfect fluidity of motion in teh wrist and fingers. The wrist rotated three hundred and sisty degrees slowly, then in a quick motion. Fingers flexed as a normal human's might, down to a millisecond of differance. A curcular panel on his head moved, enhancing the vision in his optical enhancement, while his worked on teh very delicate wiring in his arm, via an open panel in the underside of the forearm.

Once he got the expected level of sensitivity and speed he required of himself, he closed the panel, and lifted his arm up straight, the upper portion sliding away and the pulse cannon coming out of his arm in a quick motion.

"Five seconds. It needs to be at least three."

The pulse cannon stayed displayed, picking up his tools and starting to work on that section of his arm. a cord extened from the palm, and he put the tuning fork instrument into a keyed section of the wall, going through communication protocal and passwording to the files that contained his augment, and downloading the sections he needed into his head.

Roselyn shook her head and turned to watch Rennell all the more, flicking her tail now in slight annoyance behind her. "Yes, that is what she said and I watched you annoy a fenrir one day so I can not say I do not agree with her. You get your clearance back when I give it to you." She nodded and held her head up in a more authoritive manner just for the moment.

"And Ren I did not introduce you to her because she did not tell me who she was, I only know she is to work for Dr. Trevale. I think Lilia or something." She looked back to the woman who seemed to be in Duh mode and nodded politely to her, "I told you where to go, she is expecting you so you might as well head on. And it is ok, he is not beyond the security yet so he can be here, he is just weird.
PostPosted: Fri Jul 15, 2005 6:24 pm

Ren rolled his eyes. "You're the weird one." But he laughed and shrugged then gave a polite nod to...whoever she was..."Not to be rude miss, but me and my friend here have something to attend to. You know us mech enhanced ones...always something wrong with us it seems." It was said in an overly optimistic tone.

Of course he then hooked his arm in Rosey's and proceeded to drag her off down the hall and to the transport cells of the ship where he would pull her in and press a sequence of buttons. A pulse of light and a tingly sensation later, their location changed.

James got himself up, and moved to his door, opening it up and walking out. Most members of Metamorphosis siad hellos pleseantly, and he said nothing in return. they got slight nods at best. Transporter to the main area of Echo, looking for Rose. She had a few of the maintenace people asking about her, and he assumed it was about her missing an appointment for a checkup. so he took it upon himself to go get her. And since she liked being by the Echoes, that's where he went, looking very serious.

However, when he was unable to locate her, he moved to Jelena's office, knocking on teh door with his metal hand.

"Ma'am? have you see Roselyn? some of the Meta mantainence were wondering about her whereabouts. I think she missed a scheduled checkup."
