Even though, Subaru disappeared after the conversation, the scene was still significant with regards to their relationship. Besides the tender touches mentioned above, it is critical to note that Subaru chose to leave after talking to Kamui, and not before. It is clear that Subaru has secretly decided to leave the Dragons of Heaven after having killed Seishirou. Nevertheless, a part of him must have realised the impact of such an action on Kamui, and he wanted to comfort the boy before he did so. He did not want Kamui to feel guilty for something that was not his fault. In a significant way (by Subaru's standards), he does care for Kamui.

Further revelations of Kamui's feelings for Subaru is shown in the scenes that take place one month after Subaru's disappearance. Knowing that Arashi was in contact with Hinoto, he wanted to know if the princess had any information with regards to Subaru's location. When Arashi responded in the negative, we can feel his disappointment. Even while Sorata was cheerily giving out instructions to the Seals, Kamui's thoughts was focused on Subaru.

After the death of the Sakurazukamori, Subaru leaves the sanctuary of CLAMP Campus. As time passes, he is never far from Kamui's thoughts; he desperately wants to search for Subaru, but isn't sure if Subaru would want him to even look.

Subaru inherits the powers of the Sakurazukamori and becomes a Dragon of Earth. However, he doesn’t have any allegiance to his new “comrades”, and although he tells ‘Kamui’, Dragon of Earth, that he will play no part in the apocalypse, he still cares deeply for his old leader.

After months of separation, the day of the final battle comes. As the two Kamuis confront one another, Kamui notices a cloaked figure behind his opposite. Looking closer at the figure he realises who the person is: Subaru.

Before he is able to uncover why Subaru seems to be with 'Kamui', the Onmyoji sadly tells him that the wish Kamui has carried for so long is not his true wish, and that there is another one deep inside him. Unless he can realise this true wish, nothing can change, and the Dragons of Heaven will lose the war. Despite the fact that Subaru, now fated to be a Dragon of Earth, still refuses to play any part in the battle, he is there trying to help his friend survive.

thank you thank you thank you - I knew that he wou.ld become hte next Sakurazukamori crying because of the little thing at the end of the volumes about Seishirou. but I saw some pics that made me want to know more about subaru in hte volumes i don't have and I'm hoping to get for graduation!
i want 14, 17, and 18 so bad and I really wish CLAMP might pick up on the X project again, but they have a lot of projects running right now. I'm buying Tsubasa too now. I can't wait for volume 16 and 17. Subaru and Kamui show up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! a long with the rest ofthe X/1999 crew. But Fai's very very sick in those volumes! crying

I'm writing a story- a subaru/OC story. It starts at Hokuto's funeral. Tsuchira - my OC was a friend of Hokuto and had a crush on Subaru But didn't seems to be around a lot when Seishiro was there. Subaru kind of crushed on her but since he focused on his sister and Seishiro more Tsuchira didn't come around when she saw Seishiro with them. When she heard of what happened she expressed her love and her willingness to stay by his side come hell or high water. Years passed and they were wed. Tsuchira followed him to tokyo against his wishes. She became protective of Kamui and Yuzuriha. And Since she was a priestess (haven't specified what religion exactly yet, kind of like Subaru's but different), she could heal and has premonitions. the Premonitions were rare and far between. After Subaru killed Sakurazukamori, Tsuchira felt him slipping away and she knew that he didn't love her enough to feel he had to protect her and stay on the seals side. Later, Kamui finds Tsuchira in Subaru's room with her wrist cut and bleeding. He immediately takes care of her and takes her to stay with Sorata, Arashi, Yuzuriha, and himself. Sorata asks her what happened but she says nothing. Kamui takes her into his room to talk and she tells him why Subaru left and that she wants to die because she gave everything to Subaru and now that he has gone she feel like a shell of a person. Kamui asked her to try and carry on. "I'll try kamui - for you because you don't need to be worrying about me- you have enough on your plate as it is." She says with a faint smile and then ruffles his hair. Tsuchira would smile but they were few and far between. One day TSuchira heard Sorata asked Arashi why'd Subaru marry her if he didn't love her enough to stay and protect her.

"He married me in gratitude for staying by his side through the pain -for loving him despite his focus on the self-torment. He married me to make me happy and because he only smiled -throughs those few years - when i smiled. I think he loved me but not enough for him to stay by my side. The man i married has changed but that doesn't stop me from loving him. Now will you excuse me- i must go pray - for today is the day of Hokuto's death." Tsuchira said with a cold sorrowful tone and then ran outhte room crying for both of the Sumeragi's she cared about. Sorata sighed in disbelief of what he's done, and Arashi hit him on the head. "I was so stupid - you were right Hokuto! He took Subaru away before i even had a chance and he broke your promise, but your own promise was kept - Seishiro is gone now" Tsuchira said taking a picture of Hokuto and herself out as she stopped at a phone both. She put some coins in and dialed the number for the Sumeragi house hold. "Hello, Lady Sumeragi. Yes, He is gone -Seishiro is dead and now Subaru has left the Seals - and me." She said with a sob. "He is the new Sakurazukamori!" She cried as a man stepped in the booth beside her. "Still, Do your best for Hokuto's ceremony and tell her i miss her -" Tsuchira said but then Lady Sumeragi interrupted.

"There's someone on the other line, could you hold?" asked Lady sumeragi
"Yes, I can wait." She said with a soft but sad smile.
"Subaru - is on the other line." Lady Sumeragi said urgently but sadly. Then the man beside tsuchira hung up the phone. The phone slipped from her hand. "Tsuchira? Tsuchira?!" Lady Sumeragi asked as the phone dangled from the cord.
Tsuchira ran after the man in a black trench coat. Tears flooded her eyes as she leapt over his slim figure and landed in front of him. "Why did you leave me behind?! Why didn't you even say goodbye!" She cried angrily and sadly. "Subaru - you have not idea how it's been for me and for Kamui. I'm doing my best not to be a burden for him but after he stopped my suicide attempt he's been worrying I may do it again. But i promised myself after that day i'd survive for my wish!"
"Go home Tsuchira. i don't want you in Tokyo." Subaru said calmly. Suddenly Tsuchira slapped him.
"Who the hell do you think you are? Everything I've done is for you and you leave. You can't produce a shield because there's no one you want to protect -not me! Not Kamui! Subaru you can't play Neutral in this! i had a premonition -your not helping Fuma because you don't want to hurt Kamui. weither you want to or not - you already are! If you want to protect him than protect him! Don't just stand there like a child that thinks it's not his problem what happens!" Tsuchira cried and then grabbed on to his coat. He let her cry into his chest and get all out.

"Tsuchira - I understand what you're saying but this is what i want." Subaru said softly. Suddenly Tsuchira kissed him powerfully yet gently, and he kissed back wrapping his arms around her.

"Are you sure? Search your heart and tell me it's true that you would give up on Kamui and our friends. I don't want them to suffer and die. I love Kamui like he was one of my own even though I'm too young to be his mother." Tsuchira said with a happy smile as she looked at him. "Let me know so I can decide what to do with myself. I want man to live on and i want a family that can live happily but This mother won't be happily with just any man because i'll never stop loving you and Kamui, dragon of earth can never grant a wish of life only death and with death comes more sorrow. I don't think you want to kill people -to be an assassin. this is your life - do you choose to stay with life or to deliver death?"

tell what you think? i tend to ramble about my fics and I made most of that on the spot because I'm still plotting. sweatdrop

Here is a few things I found online that might interest you and make you laugh. Oh and I really liked the way you wrote the fanfic it was very nice and well thoughout too.

Here we have "cute bedside scene 2" and the "tying the tie scene".

Kamui was seriously injured by Fuuma in X13 and was recuperating in his room in X14. Apparently he was unconscious since Sorata and Arashi brought him in. Anyway, he woke up and the very first thing he saw was Subaru's smiling face of relief. Kamui tried to sit up but his rib still hurt and Subaru had to help him down gently on the bed. It was then that Kamui noticed that Subaru's hand was holding on tightly to his. Subaru replied that Kamui did the same thing for him during his time in hospital (see X12). While the entire conversation later focused on Kamui's wish and how it might negatively affect everyone else, one could see that Subaru's and Kamui's hands were all over each other. This scene reinforced the fact that the two react very closely to each other, unlike how the solitary figures they project to everyone else.

The "tying the tie scene" (see left) seemed entirely irrelevant to the plot. Basically Kamui decided to get out of bed and start attending classes, but he was having some problems putting on his tie since he had not recovered completely from his injuries yet. Subaru, whom CLAMP seemed to be suggesting that he was hovering about the boy pretty regularly, took over the tie from Kamui without saying a word and proceeded to tie it for him. This particular panel was played out over 3/4 of a page, with only white space around the two so that the reader's attention is entirely focused on them. Is there more to be read from this scene?

Several Seishirou/Subaru supporters argued that this scene was only to show Subaru's brotherly affections for Kamui. He was tying Kamui's tie just like his sister, Hokuto, used to do it for him. I beg to differ. Hokuto never stood so close to her twin while tying his tie. There are many ways to put a brotherly spin on their relationship but that scene suggests way more. Fan service then? Perhaps. But if CLAMP really wants to mess with our minds, they could easily do it with plenty of Subaru/Kamui illustrations (a rare commodity at the moment).

CARD: The Hanged Man, volume 12
AGE APPROX: 25-26 years
STATUS: breathing; eternally anguished; apathetic indulgance of confrontational swordfight voyeurism.
PRETTY BOY FACTOR: the perfect pretty boy; emphasis on "pretty" and "perfect" and "anorexic
ANGST LEVEL: His Eternal Angstiness; has the whole Tokyo Babylon ordeal as his pride and joy!
LIFE EXPECTANCY: "Many that live deserve death. Some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them?"

THE BASICS:
The 13th heir of the Sumeragi family and master of Onmyoujutsu-- magic based on the concepts of yin and yang-- Subaru has survived the most heartbreaking of trials, and will probably suffer through worse in the times to come. His life is just one neverending garage band made of guitars and woe.
At sixteen-- along with the 25-year-old Sakurazuka Seishirou and Subaru's exuberant twin sister, Hokuto-- they lived life to the fullest amidst the bright lights of Tokyo. (see, Tokyo Babylon)
However, things take an abrupt turn as Seishirou looses an eye protecting Subaru, which causes him to realize that he is in love with the older man. This is not the end of it, though; Seishirou is actually the Sakurazukamori, an assassin of grade A dastardly and man-eating cherry trees.
Following the death of Hokuto-- she sacrifices herself so Subaru could and would live, no matter the cost-- at the hands of Seishirou, the X timeline now intertwines Subaru's quest to fulfill his Wish of being killed by the Sakurazukamori.
SUBARU: AYE WISH AYE KNEW HOW TO KWIT YUU. biggrin !
Unfortunately, he is unaware of his sister's final spell. And so with the death of Seishirou, Subaru has become the next Sakurazukamori by the powers of impromptu field surgery vested in Fuuma: he accepts Seishirou's remainder eyeball and sticks it into his own lacking socket. And then getting a haircut. But not before desperately and heartbreakingly hugging the eyeball container to his chest. And you thought you had problems! ♥
For more on the Sumeragi, please see the profile for Sakurazuka Seishirou.

THE LOOKS:
Who can compare with the man everyone considers an absolute beauty? Soft, silken black hair. Clear, expressive emerald eyes-- ah, make that eye. Fuuma disabled the other just a bit. Once so feminine he was mistaken for a girl, Subaru has grown up to be a slender and graceful man.
His expression is hollow now, however, marked only by the distinct sorrow of one who has lost everything dear to him; apathetic, a life not worth living. Even the green of his eye has been tainted, leaving only a dull shade of its former emotive brightness. The other eye, Seishirou's warm caramel brown, is a sharp contast.
Something to note, though, is that he has grown out his hair and it now resembles his former Tokyo Babylon cut. We await further wardrobe changes with great interest!

THE POWERS:
The opposing light to the Sakurazukamori's dark Onmyoujutsu, Subaru has powers that are both elegant and destructive. However, he seems to favour the use of his ofuda-- incantative slips of paper-- and shikigami immensely. And he can create a star-shaped Kekkai. ... wait, he lost the ability to make a Kekkai. DAMN YOU'RE USELESS!
The full extent of his powers are still to be seen; we don't know what he's entitled to, being the newly dubbed Sakurazukamori, though it's pretty much a given he's the entire package. Sans the active killing, that is-- Subaru doesn't have to willpower to get anything up.

THE SMARTS AND THE SOCIAL:
He once attended CLAMP Campus in his attempt to find the Sakurazukamori, but seems to have dropped out since. However, it is not to say that Subaru's not smart-- he's the one who helped Kamui with his homework, after all. Study sessions. So that's what kids are calling it these days.
However, being a quiet and terribly introverted person, he isn't inclined to talk unless addressed. And even then, he tends to avoid any chances of conversation.

THE CASH FLOW:
The boy is loaded-- his family is wealthy as well as respected, so you'll never be in want. However, Subaru's lifestyle itself is spartan, so be prepared to make some sacrifices. Though, should you ever become the family darling like Hokuto was-- oh, fashion folly every alternate weekend!

THE HOMEMAKER:
He lived by himself in Tokyo since sixteen years of age, so he's pretty much well-adjusted domestically. (Note to self: only domestically.) However, as Subaru's services as a spiritualist are reasonably in demand, he spends a good deal of time away from home.
And do your really want him doing your laundry? He's just not the type. No, wait, I want to slam him into a coin laundry. That would be all kinds of sexy hot appropriate sexy. .... that sentence came out totally wrong, didn't it?

THE IN-LAWS:
Lady Sumeragi (grandmother; alive); Sumeragi Hokuto (twin sister; deceased); if Hokuto were still around today, I'm sure she would have a lot to shriek and make lewd comments say about her brother's husband-- wife. No, definitely husband-- but she's not, so I shall proceed to kick Seishirou around a bit. My therapist recommends it, and so does yours!

THE RIVALS:
Does the name Sakurazuka Seishirou ring any bells? (And by bells, we mean mmmicecreamandpuppies.) This boy is positively-- or should we say negatively?-- in love with him. And this is the kind of love that wastes you away.
When no matter how terrible that person is (and he is) or what he does (and those things are just too cruel to bear), you will love him forever because you have always-- and will always-- belong to him.
As one particularly astute dimension witch once said-- "You are a truly f*cked up little man." No, wait, I think it was more along the lines of "I wish him a happy life, but there are a lot of definitions of happiness, I'm afraid."
And then Seishirou dies. It's a story we all know by now.

THE BED:
... who wants to make a bet on the virginity of this one? It took an eternity for the man that Subaru loved to be able to even touch him without causing him to flinch. And look where that got him. Subaru takes it in the eye.
Should Kanoe ever wear actual clothes, or Hell freeze over, or you get the Sumeragi in bed-- well, you'll be the one who will have to do close to everything. He's probably so used to being dominated-- and he is by nature rather submissive-- that you'll have to initiate most, if not all, the action.
"HAY EVERYBODY LET'S PLAY CHASE THE VIRGIN AROUND THE ROOM!"
Not to say that Subaru's frigid. (Oh wait, he is.) But he can also be the most considerate person alive, though he now says otherwise. And his spirit is a comfort, and his presence something to be cherished.
I mean, not everything has to be about sex, right? HA HA.

THE WILDCARD:
How true, that he's a beauty at arm's length! But to take care of him requires an enormous psychological effort on your part-- he's emotionally retarded. And he has the survival instinct of a slug trapped in a working blender.
The chances of him letting go of Seishirou are minimal at best, and even then, it will probably be in Kamui's favour. Too bad he wasn't caught before the Sakurazukamori left his fashionably cruel marks.
And girls?
He's gay.

I realize that I may sound harsh and hateful, but the poor boy just breaks my heart because he doesn't value himself enough; I desperately want to break his pretty little face with a really big self- esteem stick. Or let Kamui do it to further their relationship. And the Sumeragi's sister was by far cooler. Way to go, wasting her life like that. Don't let karma hit you on the way out, dorkface.

By the by, he does not look gayer than a treeful of monkeys on nitrous oxide. That honour belongs to Aziraphale. ♥
