It was time to move out, or that's what Chunuka decided as he left his parent's den and moved across the land, taking pleasure in the sunlight that danced along his back.
The den was so cramped now and his mother and father were seeming to want to spend more and more quiet time alone. So with this in mind Chunuka made a vow that by the time the sun set he would have found himself somewhere else to live.
There was the problem with the overcrowding, however, and he was concerned that he wouldn't be able to find any spare den. He shuddered at the thought of making his own one and decided that he was too lazy for such a feat.
He shook his honey-brown mane and stretched pleasurably before collapsing on the ground. A cloud of dust raised up around him and he sneezed.
"Aaaaah-aa-choo!"

Eusi walked through the pridelands with a stalk any huntress would be proud of. Her tail lashed back and forth behind her and she accomplished very easily the look of 'permanently pissed off', which she was quite proud of. She had no clue what she was even doing in this place still.
It wasn't as if she interacted with her family so that wasn't tying her here... she didn't much care for the scenery so that wasn't a big deal. No friends, no teachers... nothing. Ah, but perhaps it was just easier to live in the pridelands than to venture out and find things! Things that could be important to her one day...
Whatever, she was starving. Her ears twitched as a sudden 'achoo' sounded and her lip curled, eyes floating over the grass. It took a moment for her to spot the golden male, her age. She groaned inwardly. "Disgusting.." She hissed out, though she wasn't sure if he'd hear or not.
She hated sneezing. She hated bodily functions... she hated little cubs.... oh the list went on.

He blinked and rolled onto his back, rubbing his spine against the dusty ground to eae an itch. For a moment he thought he was coming down with some strange illness and then sense kicked in. Obviously he as a lion with a sensitive nose and perhaps a couple of resident fleas.
Then his golden, round ears picked up the sound of a voice not too far away and he shifted onto his pale stomach and peered up overthe tall grass.
His brilliant blue eyes flashed with mischief as he set eyes on possibly one of the most attractive females he had ever come to see. She walked as if she held some incredible power and her fur gleamed with the colour of stormy skies and in her eyes glowed with the colour of freshly spilled blood. Yes, what a fine lady she was and here they were, both very much alone.
He clearedhis throat, licked a paw and used it to smooth back his mane, then got to his feet. He himself was quite a looker. He was not large and bulky like his father. In fact he had the build of an athelete, slender but with strongly defined young muscle. His fur gleamed like the sun and his eyes told of happy days in summer.
He put on his best smile and strode towards her.
"Good day." He called. "I don't think we'vebeen introduced before, I would have remembered such a pretty lady if I had." He paused and bowed. "I am Chunuka. Pleased to meet you."
There. His father would be proud.

Eusi hissed at hearself for attracting attention, but she could never help snide comments like the one she'd just made. This is probably the only reason anyone interacted with her anyhow. Now she had to delay her hunting long enough to put this male off and make him leave... or maybe slash a claw at his throat and leave him for dead. She chuckled just slightly at the picture in her mind and slowly calmed down.
Her eyes narrowed and her body stilled, with the exception of her tail which was still lashing back and forth. His words were sickening... though secretly she was pleased he thought her pretty. Not because it was some male who was overly... er, stimulated.. but because she was a gem. A rather dangerous gem and she wanted others to realize this.
"There is not one good thing about this day." She shot back, rolling her eyes. "I awoke too early to those obnoxious birds, I am starving and yet all of the smaller critters have hidden themselves from me and the larger animals are too many. And on top of it.." Her eyes rolled over him as if she was making it obvious he was the third strike.
What kind of name was Chunuka? She was tempted not to give her name at all... but she wanted all lions and lionesses to know her one day. That type of fame... she swallowed. "Eusi." She said it shortly, not saying her full name.

He smiled at her, much like one did when they weren't quite understanding but were pretending they did. He looked almost...goofy? He turned both ears towards her, his hazel mane blowing slightly in the wind.
He took pride in the way he looked and he sure did like to look at other fur, just to compare. There were so many strange and interesting colours in the Pridelands now. Mother told him that at one time the Pride had been fileld with golden lions, lions as golden as he was - as bright as the sun.
His smile never faltered as he stepped closer and spoke,
"It's probably because you stand out so much. See for other lions it's fine because we can admire such a pelt but prey animals will see it a mile off and go running. Have you ever thought about hunting at night?" He wasn't even sure if that was possible so added, "Or at dusk? The shadows would help conceal you better. Either way, whilst I'm here maybe you'd like me to help you?"
He winked. "I do so love to watch a lionness stalking through the grass." He continued briskly, "my mother told me that females are far better hunters than males. She's right. They're masters at work. With a form liek yours I bet you'd land a powerful blow too."

She was not sure whether to feel sick or pleased at his compliment but she let neither emotion show on her face. She just rose a brow and watched the male. Though he had it somewhat right... maybe she should hunt at dusk from now on. "A good suggestion." She stated softly, almost not wanting to give him recognition for it.
Her eyes narrowed and her tail flicked back and forth slowly and in an annoyed manner. Well... she was hungry... "Yes. A hunt would be good but it would be wise to keep your eyes on the pray rather than myself though." She said, her words short an irritable.
