St. George's is, by current days standards, a huge church. it is situated in the inner city. The church not only serves as an area to pray and to receive communion, but a barracks for the local priesthood. More info on second post. St. George's seats 60,000, but the seats usually only get a third full. Plasma screens are present everywhere in the sanctuary, so as Arch Bishop Peter Maliante's word can reach everyone. He speaks behind a large, wrought iron podium, with complexly gnarled vines of chrome steel twisting and falling off of it. He wears black trousers with a black button-up long sleeve shirt. A cape constructed of leather, covered in glinting steel scales [1x2 inches, tapering at the end] and adorned with two small blades at the shoulders hangs off his frame. A simple, large Greatsword rests at his hip, feared due to the often too common executions he decides to perform himself. He also has a singular wrought iron gauntlet, the blackened, rough metal accentuating the new feel of the church.

Inside the Church, to the right of the sanctuary, lies the barracks of the clerical soldiers. There are always at least two hundred soldiers on duty ready to protect the church or be sent out for any emergency situation. There are 40 of the sanctified squad cars in full repair and fueled up, as well as a small squadron of helicopters for immediate insertion. This is also the place where regular patrols are sent out on duty. Within the city are at least five hundred units patrolling. In each day patrol, there is one 'blesser', who stands back and assists the other two units through augmentations to their defenses and power, at the battle units. Each battle unit carries a battle rifle and an SMG, as well as two fragmentation grenades, and one each of smoke and incendiary grenades. In each night patrol of ten, there are two blessers, and one sanctioned caster assisting the seven battle units. The casters use mainly offensive spells, meant at breaking the human body, or spirit.

A broken man arrived in the sick bay area that was reserved for extreme emergency situations. Without a word, people began attending to him, casters, nano-technicians and physicians alike. He would still be in there a few days, however, and would not be able to speak for a while. Matthew would lay silent for a while.

Matthew would now slowly wake up, hours later, and look to one of the attendants. The intensive care unit was wired, microphones listening constantly. His dry lips parted, and weak words came out, slowly.
"The Bar.... Has an object of vast power... send a wingless to retrieve it..."
After this, he slipped back into unconsciousness. Being partially cut in half never did a man any good.

The front doors opened and a man strode in quickly. He looked up and down the rows of the church as he walked. It was very nearly empty. The church was never very full except for Sunday mornings. He walked over to the entrance to the barracks and stepped inside. "What news do we have from today?" He asked the nearest soldier. He was weary as though he'd been working hard, on not much sleep.

The soldier bowed towards him, and began stuttering through his words.
"Not good, s-sir Tristan. Matthew, head of the church's Magical Investigation Bureau, responded to a call at 5:34 pm, and later teleported back in critical condition at 5:43 pm. He sent a wingless to the locale, stating that immense power was to be had th-there."
The soldier took a deep breath, looking at Tristan with worry. It was never good to deliver bad news.
"Also, at around 6:00 pm, one of our squads transmitted an x-ray of a van we had sus-spicions of. We found enough weapons to supp-ly a small army. We dispatched units to the spot, but the v-van had already fled. As we speak, they are hunting after any trace of it."

Tristan narrowed his eyes and looked down to the side. He took a deep breath and looked back up at the soldier. "The heathens grow are growing bolder each day. Weapons for a small army...then we must have a large army. Strength in numbers my friend my friend." He looked the soldier in the eye and smiled, a moreso awkward expression than a true smile. "Now then, about this wingless. Why would we send only one person to obtain a supposed 'immense power?' Where is it? I'm going to go as well."

The man nodded, seemingly grateful that the man was affirmative. He then spoke the location of the bar in a hushed tone. He then bowed, low, to Tristan, and backed off.
((We don't have an actual locale on the bar right now, so it's sort of hard to flesh out that post. sweatdrop ))

Ebil Mecha Pup Enriel ((Oh, I see. Well...we could like...make one...? Couldn't we?)) ((He means that we only have a vague idea of where the Very Questionable Joint is with respect to the rest of the city.)) ((Oh! I get it now. >< It's hard to actually say. Thus the leaning forward and whispering part. Eheh... ^^; )) Tristan nodded and took a step back. "Alright. And what about this Wingless? I'll need to identify him once I get there." He had made the mistake of trying to find someone without knowing what they looked like before. He was not about to try that again.

The man's eyes appeared to be searching the back of his own skull for the answer. They then snapped forward to look at Tristan as he nodded slowly.
"They sent in Hikaru, sir. One of the few who has not yet fallen."

"Hikaru? Good; we should be able to obtain this power easily between the two of us then." He nodded and then stepped out of the room. He began walking for the door, again taking the time to look around the room. The church was such a vast and empty place. To those who did not understand, it must look intimidating. He pushed open the doors as he got to them and walked outside.
((This is the future, so I can only assume that cars in some form are still around? Regardless, we can assume he's found some way to head on over to 26th street now.))
