What year do the books take place? I'd like to know each one, or possibly just Guilty pleasures year might do. I'm slightly confused on what time-era it takes place it.

Its a modern-day time era. Think every day life, right now, with vampires, were-creatures and goddess knows what else running around at night.

Thats a good question. I didn't really think about it until I realized after all this time Anita is still in her 20s. I guess it's sorta open. I can't think of any details in the book that are time sensitive. You can go back and read Bloody Bones and picture it happening now even though it was written more than 10 years ago.

I think that's the one thing great about LKH's Anita Blake series is that there is no set time in things like years, it keeps the books open I suppose. So, until we reach the age where there are no jeeps or guns, it could be today. (In 2030 even)
Course, way gas prices are going up...probably get rid of cars soon.

.................................
Hey guys... go to the main website.... look at the release dates on the books.... THAT would be the time period of the books.... after all, it was modern day for the time it was released.... think 93-95 for the first book............

Also, there were HIGHLY clear clues to time sets. LIKE THE CLOTHING. The clothing discribed is VERY typical of the time period. Furthermore, CAR PHONES are huge clues to it. The talk of cellphones, HUMMERS which are only RECENTLY able to be recieved by the public, and many other clues, tell you basically what time period it is. ALSO, the books pretty much coinside to the times of the releases of the books. You just have to take the first release date, and look at the first chapters of the next books, to see how much time has passed. I knew a time line somewhere, Ill see if I can find it.

http://www.timber-wolf.net/blake/page-history.html Thats a relatively decent history of Jean Claude
and
http://www.timber-wolf.net/blake/timeline.html
one for Anitas books. Theres no year, but basically it was around early to mid 90's, and its pretty close to 2000 if not a little over.
I know for a fact the meredith books are in the 2000s.
