The midafternoon rays shone down over the still, quiet plains where a gray stallion lay neatly on the grass. Rarely did he get a chance to go into the open because of the cursed pelt on his back, but again rarely did he remove it. The wolf skin was like a second skin to him now. It was...part of him.
Sirius gave a swift yawn as he hauled himself onto sturdy legs. A flock of some sort of birds passed just as quickly overhead. To most this was a perfect day. This was hell to the stallion. Why should the earth rejoice? What gave it the right? The stallion snorted at the thought before laying onto the grass again. He had merely needed to stretch his legs.

The mare stalked the stallion quietly, cautiously. She'd never seen anything quite like him. Hunkering down into a tall patch of grass, she hoped that the skinwalker couldn't see her colors contrast against the background through it. Grunting softly, she continued to watch, her eyes quickly scanning his pelt as he rose.
Midori shook her head. Not only did she not know why she was staring at the stallion, but she wasn't even sure it was a stallion, let alone a Soquili. Her eyes gazed upon him, not moving. Silently, she rose, getting ready to turn around.

Sirius closed his eyes for just a moment before taking one sniff of the air. "No need to hide in the grass," He spoke in his cold voice, "I already ate." The stallion turned his head to meet eyes with the mare.
Just as quickly as the eys got contact, he broke that contact by swinging his head around again, laying it down on his front legs. Sirius contemplated about removing the pelt, but he was so attached to it now, but the afternoon heat was getting to him. 'No,' he reasoned with himself, 'I'll keep it on. No need to remove it.' That wasn't true really. There was a reason to remove it, but he was just too stubborn to remove it.

Midori tilted her head slightly. "What, exactly, did you eat?" She walked toward him cautiously, looking at the pelt. "If you don't mind me asking, what exactly are you?" Continuing to advance, she not once took her eyes off him, questions filing at her brain. But, as terribly as she wanted to interrogate him, she kept to herself, leaving the questions for later in case she got the opportunity.

"Oh nothing much," Sirius replied in a cold voice, "Just a fish...and a preoccupied squirrel. Though..you know there is always room for more~" He looked at her with a wicked grin on his face. "Why, my dear..." The stallion started, rising to his feet once more, but this time not to just lay down again. "I'm a skinwalker."

"I see... I've heard of your kind before, though you're the first I've encountered." Midori continued to inch forward carefully, still eyeing his pelt. "Are you able to take that off?" Unable to stop staring at it, she blinked to stop herself.

Sirius cocked a brow, "You mean my skin? But of course I'm able to shed it. Carrying it around all the time would get tiresome. It's like carrying a wolf on your back in the way of weight that is."

Her eyes wandered momentarily. "I suppose, but I've heard of skinwalkers who are unable to remove theirs. It's as if they've fused to it. I've also heard that it has a mind of its own..." She flicked her tail, wondering if the legends were true.

"Unable to remove it? Hah! My dear," He sneered, "I do not know the source of this useless knowledge that you have, but that is not true. If you wish, I could..perhaps..remove it for you, just to prove it wrong." White teeth flashed in his over delighted grin.

"Well, if you're so eager to prove me wrong, be my guest. I'd be glad to acquire accurate knowledge of your kind." Nodding, she stifled a chuckle at how delighted he was at simply proving another wrong.
