If you have a question, give me the topic and I'll look up verses straight from the bible (KJV or sometimes NIV if indicated) for you smile

What is a good answer when someone who is not a christian tells why they aren't and says that part of the reason is that they can't love a God who is so mean as to put people in hell just because they don't love him. I must admit, i've wondered the same thing before. I've never really doubted God's love for me, or the fact that i love him back, but this has been kind of bothering me. Will you look up a good answer to that for me?

When those who do not truly repent stand before him, having had a lifetime to do so, he will judge them unworthy because of their sins and will withdraw his love from them. God loves all humanity and therefore can not hate them only withdraw his love (grace) from them in which case they descend to hell. So God is not mean to people, but rewards those who respect his gift of love.
