Ahhh, nothing like the sound of that Rotary engine. I have a FC3S myself and I love it. I want to know what the rest of you guys think of the RX-7 legacy.

I love the RX-7. Personally, I prefer an FD myself, but an FC works out fine, too. They're unique and carry their own legend, as rotary driven sports cars. It's too bad that Mazda discontinued it, and replaced it with the weaker and heavier RX-8.

i love the rx7....and the rotary engine....but lately....ive seen the power of the LS1 in an FC...so if i ever got an FC, i'd be going that route. i know its sacrilege...but the power....

speaking of engine swaps, I want to drop an FE3S (RX cool engine w/ a GReddy twin turbo kit into a first-gen RX7. all power, no weight. you could keep all kinds of amenities, and still have a power to weight ratio to make a Mustang or Camaro driver (like me) turn green with envy. and it could still turn, because the engine wouldn't weigh the front down like a V8 would.

Thats cause your GAY! NOW STOP SPEAKING YOUR SLANDER! musewolfman speaking of engine swaps, I want to drop an FE3S (RX cool engine w/ a GReddy twin turbo kit into a first-gen RX7. all power, no weight. you could keep all kinds of amenities, and still have a power to weight ratio to make a Mustang or Camaro driver ( like me) turn green with envy. and it could still turn, because the engine wouldn't weigh the front down like a V8 would. The 13B from the RX-8 isnt worth a crap when it is turbocharged. Super chargers getter better response out of that version of the engine. And the LS1 swaps only give you an extra hundred pounds, but they do throw off the good balance because they sit further up in the engine bay. and with the 47%R and 53%F balence I dont want to mess with mine. And the FB is just plain ugly. I have seen them move but my FC (And most other FC's) walks all over them and im set up for drift.

I heard that the early-mid era FC's didn't have crap for torque untill the came out with the turbo'd versions...
never driven one, so it's 3rd hand. any knowledge to add?

My friend just bought one of the non-turbo'd FC's so I'll find out and post.
Personally, I love FD's. They will rip anything apart if done right. The hard part is just keeping the engine practically bomb proof. I've already got mine planned out so it shouldn't be too bad however.

Dude! I love all rx-7's every model! biggrin My favorite though is the 1994 model, its body is sooooo hot! But scince im only 14 and the most money i have ever had was around $500 US, im pretty sure i wont be getting one any time soon. Ill just have to stick with driving my Saturn SL2 and dads 1973 mercury cougar, wich needs looooooota work. stressed

These are very, very good cars. There's a bloke running around VIC with an actual Spirit-R, with relatively little done to it(no doubt in order to keep the resale where it is for such a rare model) BUT, he turns some excellent times round the flat track with very basic, but essential parts.
VERY good cars, and well ahead of their time.
