name [x] Melanthe meaning [x] black flower gender [x] female word essence [x] satin stardust manifest emotion [x] distrust name-note [x] Melanthe actually says her name wrong, having dubbed herself from reading a book with no correct sounds to go by. The true pronounciation is "Meh-lan-thee", but she learned it with a silent "e" and therefore introduces herself as simply "Meh-lanth."
description [x] The face of an angel that pleads gently for one's trust, but is not to be trusted. She has something vaguely oriental about her, a soft pout to her lips like cherry blossoms and thin eyes.
Melanthe has always been unlucky in that she has a particularly strange appearance, which makes it hard to stay around humans. Her hair is a strange pastel pink with golden colored tips. It is about shoulder length in the back, but one wouldn't know it as most often it is bound into a very tight, thin roll at the back of her head. At the sides it is longer, reaching down to her ribcage, and usually held in two loops - one of which always makes trouble by coming loose, inconveniently. Her eyes are a strange gold with lavender-colored pupils and a dark ring around the edges. However, most peculiar about her is the strangeness of her skin. A sallow hue like old milk, along her forehead she appears to be "cracked" like glass, and on her arms she is jointed like a doll. Most of the time she passes these off as strange tattoos she had surgically enhanced. People have forked their tongues in the past, it's not the most unbelievable story she could tell.
Her dress is vaguely oriental. She complements a fur-lined top with a multi-colored obi, all her clothes printed with flower designs. Her yellow skirt trails on the floor, "layered" at around mid-calf level and trimmed with lace.
personality [x] Solitary and often deceptively sad, Melanthe is a chronic breaker of her word. She is not intentionally bad-natured or spiteful, but pathological in her betrayal. Small things, like failing to show up when promised, or a seeming forgetfulness. She is unreliable. It is beyond her to keep another's trust, and she feels little guilt for it. Instead, Melanthe becomes a tangle of confusing emotional strings that make her something of a timebomb, a hidden emotional wreck. She lives in quiet desperation, half in self-loathing, half loathing others. She clings to a few obsessive habits, among them are smiling sweetly and acting deceptively sincere to the general public.
instabilities [x] Her in ability to keep a solid relationship with anyone, obsessive longing for Sionek, inability to stay with one goal. affinity [x] Shiny pretty things, tea, Sionek, pale flowers, innocence, cleanliness, quiet. distaste [x] Hard to read people, disorganization, dead things (bad feng shui!), grime. tendancies [x] Cleaning (obsessively), flower arranging, reading.

manifest emotion [x] The effect of her emotion is to cause distrust in others. Of herself, of others, of the target's own self. In extreme cases, if the person is already distrustful by nature, paranoia. Naturally this works against her constantly. If she were in the business of manipluating a subject's feelings, then clearly she would have a hard time manipulating someone who distrusts her.
word essence [x] her controlled ability is something she calls humorously, star scrying. It is a strangely benign ability for someone like her. The ability lets her attach a small star-like charm to a person's clothes or skin, which can be used to maintain contact with her. Sort of like a walkie-talkie.

in progress . . . send a PM if you want to be around somewhere. xD So far, she has mostly spent her earlier years around central to east Europe, and her more modern years from the 1950's and onwards have been spent hanging around Japan.

artist [x] Tori Amos song [x] Cruel
So don't give me respect Don't give me a piece of your preciousness Flaunt all she's got in our old neighborhood I'm sure she'll make a few... friends. Even the rain bows down Let us pray As you c**k-c**k-c**k your mane. No cigarettes only peeled Havanas for you.
I can be cruel I don't know why Why can't my ba-la-loon stay up in a perfectly windy sky? I can be cruel I don't know why I don't know why...
Dance with the Sufis Celebrate your top ten in the charts of pain Lover brother bougainvillea My vine twists around your need Even the rain is sharp Like today as you sh-sh-shock me sane. No cigarettes only peeled Havanas for you.
I can be cruel I don't know why Why can't my ba-la-loon stay up in a perfectly windy sky? I can be cruel I don't know why I don't know why...
