A rather old poem of mine that I've written, but still one of my personal favs. Let me know what you think!
Soul Searching
I close my eyes soul searching
As a tear falls from my eye
As I sit alone in solitude
Under a glistening moonlit sky
Knowing not what to do
Or where to go from here
Trying to calm both heart and soul
From this undying fear
Breathing in so deeply
Taking in the crisp night air
Wondering why at times
Life seems so unfair
So many broken dreams
I have held here in my hands
As they spill between my fingers
Like pearlescent grains of sand
A heart which has grown weaker
Lies dying within my chest
As I’ve given all my love to those
Who I thought could use it best
A smile fading from lost desires
From dreams that didn’t seem to last
Wishing only to surface once again
When the tears have seemed to pass
Eyes growing dim for past emotions
Which have never seemed to fade
Living in this life forever
Until the day it becomes unmade
So forever I’ll be soul searching
Until I find what makes me whole
When at last I find that piece
That has been missing from my soul

Truly a priceless gem of a poem. It flowed smooth and rich into the haven of my ears. And I found it to be sound and flawless. Bravo! Keep up the excellent work! ^_^
