PRP for Masao and Minowa.

Masao Posts in Dark Blue

Minowa Posts in Dark Red

Setting: The two brothers meet for the first time...

Masao had been anxious, and rather nervous when he'd found out this his brother would be meeting up with him that day. He knew a little about his brother, but he wasn't sure how much of it was truth or not. He sat quietly along the side of the river, tail twitching from time to time as he waited to the kit.

How much trouble could a kit be...? Surely, not that much.
Masao sighed as he sat there, looking around to try and spot any sign that his brother was close by. He hadn't told Ryari that he was going to meet Minowa today, mainly because he wasn't sure how this meeting was going to go. If it went well, then he could bring his mate the next time he set up a meeting with his younger brother.

He finally thought he heard some movement a little ways upstream, and he stood to see if he could spot a kit moving along the stream bed or not. His ears remained perked up, listening for more signs of his brother's approach.

Minowa had been watching his older brother for a while now as the blue fox sat on the bank of the river. He had a feeling that the fox would sit there for the entire day and then some if Minowa didn't eventually step out of his hiding spot. The kit sighed, figuring there was more fun to be had in revealing himself then to stay in hiding. He stood, noting that his elder brother heard the sound and immediately started watching for him like some lost puppy dog.

Minowa took his time padding his way over to where his brother was, staying out of sight for part of the way just to make his brother wonder that much longer. After all, a quick entrance wasn't a good entrance. It was always better to keep them waiting. He finally stepped out of the grass to reveal himself to his brother, starting a circle around the larger fox as he sized him up. "You must be Masao then, my older brother," he said, giving a smile as he flicked his tail.

His brother certainly didn't seem like much to him, and he doubted his opinion would change once the fox opened his mouth to speak. So much for genes passing anything recognizable between the brothers. The only likeness that Minowa could see was that they both happened to have blue in their coats. Masao's was much more dominant though then Minowa's was, and that was just fine by Minowa's standards. He like the red of his coat, it was the color he figured he'd find himself surrounded in most often if he could.

Masao smiled when his brother finally stepped out from some of the taller grass, looking him over for a moment. He certainly didn't seem that bad, though Masao still felt a little on edge. This is ridiculous. There's nothing that this little kit could do to me that I should be worried about. Besides, he's my brother. You don't hurt the ones you're related to, you love them. Masao gave a nod of his head to mirror his thoughts as he watched the red and blue kit circle him a little.

"I am Masao, and that would make you Minowa. It's nice to finally be able to meet you...again, I suppose. I guess we did meet at least once before, though I don't remember it. I would have been very young, and you wouldn't have even been able to move or speak yet I suppose." Masao took a deep breath to calm his nerves as he turned his head to look back at Minowa as the kit moved behind him.

Masao's tail flickered a little nervously again, more concerned now about whether his brother would like him or not. You may not hurt the ones you're related too, but that doesn't mean his little brother would automatically like him. "Have you been on your own? I hope you haven't. I was on my own until I met my friends, and my now tribe members. Do you have a tribe?" Stop asking so many questions, Masao. You're going to drive him off. Masao bit back the other questions that were bubbling up in his mind, giving his little brother time to at least answer the ones already poised.

My, he certainly was a fountain of questions, wasn't he? Perhaps his elder brother was more nervous then Minowa had even thought he was. He withheld a smirk as he continued to circle the larger fox until he finally settled in front of his brother. He sat, eying him for a few moments before looking away into the trees.

"It has been a while, I don't remember having actually met you before though I've discovered I have a few scattered memories. You certainly were childish it those memories serve me right. I did wonder why you suddenly were gone, but then again I found myself without any family at all when I was old enough to realize that sort of thing. I have been on my own, though prefer it that way. I also have no tribe, I see no point is such nonsensical ties to other foxes."

Minowa looked back up at his brother with an unreadable expression, watching the blue fox closely to see how he would react. He was calculated and measured. He aimed to give his brother enough hope that they could be friends before dashing it. After all, it hurt worse to have something taken away from you then to be denied something you had never had in the first place. "What tribe are you in? Perhaps they gave you a good enough reason to join their ranks instead of to continue on your own."

Masao smiled down at the kit when Minowa finally settled in front of him, glad his brother seemed interested. "I'm in the Kousetsu tribe along with my mate, Ryari. My old friend from when I was a kit is one of the Elders of the tribe," he said down to the red fox. "You should come see our lands, perhaps you will find you like it enough to join. It would be nice to have you in the same tribe as me." He thought that it would be like having his little family together if Minowa joined the tribe as well, he'd have his mate, his brother and his best friend all in one place.

"We live in the snow, so I hope you like the cold. At least tolerate it, I suppose. Where have you been staying since you've been on your own? You haven't had any trouble have you?" Masao stopped his questions there, knowing that he was starting to ask too many at once again. He was excited though, and he wanted to know everything he could about his little brother now that they had found each other again. He had been waiting for this since he had caught sight of the little fox a few days ago, recognizing the scent on him.

Now that they were face to face he couldn't find any reason why he had memories of being told his brother was bad when he was younger. His tail swished a little in happiness, barely holding himself back from nuzzling his brother. He was a cute little kit, and a smart one from the sounds of it. Everything Masao would have wanted in a brother, though Minowa could lighten up a bit he supposed.

Minowa gave a charming smile back to his elder brother. "I think I might take you up on that offer. I would love to see where my older brother lives, and meet your mate as well. I'm sure she's charming. Though, I'm not sure if I'm ready to go that far today. I think it would be best if we simply talk for now, get to know each other. It has been quite a while," he said to Masao. Minowa wanted the chance to look around the tribe lands on his own before Masao took him there, if he manged to be nice to this twit long enough for that to actually happen.

"I've found places to stay here and there. I'll live somewhere for a while until I need to move to somewhere else. Right now I have a small burrow that I found. It's the right size for me, though when I grow it will be much too small for me. Hopefully by then I'll be able to find a permanent place though." Minowa had known about Masao long before Masao had discovered that he was around. He had made a point of finding his older brother and observing him. He had to pretend not to know much about Masao though, or there would be questions.

"When you were younger, before the tribe and things, where did you stay?"

Masao shrugged his shoulders lightly, looking around the little river bank. "Here and there. Mainly I stayed in the same general area, but I would find different places to sleep each night. I joined the tribe shortly after I grew, and then rather quickly met Ryari. You should like her, she's really nice. She's a lot like me actually. She'll probably mother you a bit." Masao chuckled at this last comment, definitely able to see Ryari mothering Minowa. She even mothered him sometimes.

"Are you hungry? I could catch us some fish, I'm actually pretty good at that. I'm a hunter in my tribe, so I suppose I have to be really. This river should be full of fish though," he said, shifting in his spot a little. He was eager to please his little brother, and now after all this time he wanted to be the older brother he should have been all along. His paw pranced a bit, ready to jump at the chance to catch them some fish if Minowa wanted something to eat right then.

Minowa nodded as he pretended to be interested in what Masao was saying, staring over his brother's shoulder as he talked. "Well, she sounds delightful," he said when he cause that Masao's mate would 'mother' him. Inwardly, he found the thought was rather disgusting. Being mothered by this idiot's mate, she must have been an idiot as well is she chose Masao over all her other tribe members. Or; even over all the other foxes that should could have possibly chosen from.

"I am a bit hungry, it's be nice to have something to eat," he said to his brother when the fish was mentioned. He'd see if Masao was actually any good at getting fish or not, and secretly hoped his brother ended up making a fool of himself while trying. It'd be an enjoyable way to embarrass and guilt trip the blue fox, and Minowa was getting tired of his nice act rather quickly. The tip of his tail twitched a bit as he looked over to the river. "Mind if I watch. I haven't really been one to try and catch fish before."

Masao grinned when Minowa said he was hungry, front paws prancing a bit again. "Of course you can watch. I can even give you a few pointers," he said, standing and puffing out his chest in pride as he moved over to the edge of the water. He crotched down, scanning the water for a sign of a fish underneath the surface. His tail twitched as he watched for the movement, glancing up at Minowa for a movement.

"You always want to stay as still as you can, otherwise you'll spook the fish away. Being quiet is key as well. Once you disturb the water it will be harder for you to get the fish. They'll be on edge..." Masao spoke in a whisper, doing his best not to disturb the fish as he gave his little some pointers on how to catch a fish.

Minowa moved to perch on top of a rock next to Masao to watched what he was doing. If he would stop talking, Masao may be doing well at this. Minowa caught sight of a fish himself while Masao finished off his last little 'tip', and Minowa waited for the slow one to notice it himself. There wouldn't be any point in interrupting Masao when he was going to do all the work for Minowa. He more then planned on making Masao catch more then the one. If he was going to have a fish, he'd have one of his own. Sharing with Masao just went a little too far into the being friendly neighborhood.

Masao spotted the fish when he looked back down in the water, waiting patiently for a good time to strike. He was hoping heh was making a good impression on his little brother, and that his fishing went well too. He didn't really want to embarrass himself in front of Minowa this early on. He finally struck out at the fish with his paw, flipping it out of the water before giving it a bit to kill it.

"There we go," Masao said with a happy smile as he looked up at Minowa who had stayed up on top of the rock. "Now we can eat." He'd let his little brother have the large share if he wanted, only planning on eating what Minowa couldn't.

Minowa watched Masao flip the fish out of the water, his tail swaying a little. Now he had dinner without having to do all the work for it, this could prove useful. "Could you catch another one?" he asked innocently, feigning interest in how Masao had managed to catch the fish. This time, since he was already ensured a dinner, he planned on causing Masao a bit of trouble. Entertainment and food went well together after all, and the dimwit needed to be put in his place. "I mean, we may need more anyway, just in case, but I want to see how you did that again." I'm talking like I've never caught a fish in my life... Minowa kept his distaste to himself as he waiting for his older brother's answer.

Masao blinked as he looked at Minowa, and then grinned. His brother had been impressed, that was a good step. "Sure, I can catch another. No problem," he said, moving to the edge of the water again to watch for another fish. This was going well in his opinion, and he was glad that he had found his little brother at last. Minowa seemed more like him then Masao thought he would be, and Masao was now planning out ways to be a good role model for his little brother.

He saw another fish that was swimming not too far away, and got ready to flip it out of the water like he did the last one. He glanced up at Minowa for a moment to make sure the kit was watching before he made his move to pull the fish from the water.

Minowa waited while Masao got ready to get the second fish out of the water before moving. He pounced directly on the large fox's back, pushing his face down into the water. He stayed on Masao's back for a few moments before pushing off, landing on the ground a short distance away. He looked back towards his brother, hiding the smirk that wanted to creep onto his lips as he put on a apologetic look instead. He'd play this off as an accident since that would buy him more time to torture Masao a bit.

Masao was startled when the weight suddenly hit his back, his paws slipping so that his face fell into the water. The weight stayed there for a few moments before it left, and Masao pulled himself out of the water with a shake. He looked, seeing that not only was the fish gone but that he had made a fool of him somehow. He looked back at Minowa, seeing the apologetic look on his brother's face. He managed a smile though, a bit confused on what happened.
